A wonderful experience.

Sunday lunch very good and a tasty breakfast. Great choice of real ales. Good location and very friendly staff making our stay very enjoyable and will return.

We felt that the hosts really put in the hard yards to make our stay a most enjoyable experience so we only have positives to say about the Oak Inn.

An absolute gem

If ever there was a reminder not to book with corporate hoteliers, the Oak Inn is it. It's simply not possible to deliver the incredible level of personal service that the Oak delivers in a 50+ facility. From the moment we arrived, we felt like returning family (even though it was our first visit). The warmth, decor and ambiance of the pub was immediately relaxing. the ease of check in and not having to complete admin after a long trip, was superb and being shown personally to the room was fantastic. The facilities in the room were excellent and cleanliness, temperature control etc of the highest order. We had a superb Dinner in the restaurant and great early breakfast spot we could get on road, all attended to with friendliness and knowledge by the owners. We will definitely be going back and could not have been more impressed.

There was literally nothing not to like, other than, not staying for longer and exploring the fabulous countryside, surrounding the Inn location.

Friendly and helpful staff.

Located away from main roads meant it was quiet. The room was exceptional with a large en suite bathroom with bath. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent quality.

Pre ordering breakfast as I never know what I would like for breakfast until the morning.

Lovely stay, very good staff, good food

Breakfast very good, staff also well worth a positive mention all round a credit to the pub. Evening meal at the top end of a pub restaurant we enjoyed it. It is worth a mention that we stayed here three years ago and at that time the food was even better! Rooms have kept well and are comfortable, very clean whole place welcoming. This was a 69th Birthday treat and much enjoyed.

We were made very welcome & really enjoyed all that was on offer !

We received a warm & wonderful welcome during a busy Sunday lunchtime session . Offered food & refreshments immediately. The staff were exceptional!

Disappointing.

The rooms were lovely, a great place to stay- this was a return visit for me.

The male manager was very rude- he moved us from a table very abruptly as he said it was reserved fro the owners- this completely put a dampener on our stay . We felt very unwelcome.

perfect stop over will definitely return , nothing too much trouble.

very welcoming, adjusted our room to a twin for my mother and I straight away . clean and comfortable , good night sleep and excellent food . very convenient for three counties show ground . definitely stay here again.

Nice underrated country pub.

Relaxed attitude of the managers, a can do rather than a can't do mentality. So often lacking. Food is varied and nicely presented both the evening meal and breakfast.

A short stay that exceeded our expectations

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The menu was fairly described without a lot of hype. Not cheap but reasonably fairly priced. Breakfast whilst not excellent in choice (there was no fruit/yoghurt, limited cereals and fruitjuice) was nonetheless perfectly adequate. It was nicely presented and served reasonably quickly, so was perfectly adequate. The room was a good size and warm and the bed likewise was a good size and comfortable. All in all surpassed our expectations.(Not often I write that!)
