Only a couple hours away from Chicago, this home allows you to unplug and unwind. The home has everything you need, tucked inbetween farmland and the woods. We explored Shipshewana during the day, went fishing at dusk, sat by the fire when the sun went down and finished the day with a relaxing dip in the huge hot tub. It was great!

We loved everything about Shipshewana and hanging out at this cabin. The beds were comfy and we loved sitting on the deck. Thanks for a great stay!

The cabin was so clean and cozy. There were so many personal touches to it. We had storms the first two nights. The electricity went out, but wasn't out more than 2 hours. The hot tub is so clean and was a wonderful addition.

An adorable log cabin with incredible lake views. Hot tub was perfect. Had amazing time in Shipshewana with girlfriends, going to the flea market , riding in a buggy and eating an authentic Amish meal in an Amish home.

Old college friends meeting up once a year for antiquing, no cooking, no husbands and lots of conversation. We enjoyed a two night stay. Plenty of space for 2. Each of us had our own bed and full bath (up bath is a shower only). One of each on the main floor and in the basement. Minimal but nice decor. Wished we brought binoculars. Pretty view of the lake. A decent walk to the dock. Mown path. A killer climb back up if you have sciatica and bad knees. We didnt spend much time in the back. However a great sapce for kids to play, fishing off the dock and just relaxing watching the flock of swans that resides at the lake. The cabin has a nice deck, plenty of seating. The area is really beautiful. Pristine Amish farms, way more horses than people! Practice patience while driving in this area, especially on friday night. It was a show of lit up buggies, horses and Amish families. Very busy on the roadways that night. Is this where the saying "Friday go to meetin..." came from? Lots to see and do in the area. Highly recommend this location and cabin on Lake Shipshewana. Thank you for sharing your comfy cottage!

We enjoyed our stay in the Cozy Amish Cabin. The cabin was very clean and the owners were easy to contact and great to deal with. The weather was unseasonably warm and we enjoyed several hours on the deck, taking in the view and the sunshine. Distance to Shipshewana and local businesses is only a few miles, easy to get to shop/eat and at the same time relax in the quiet of the lake cabin!
We have stayed at several VRBO’s and this was the first one where after our stay the owner sent a message thanking us for our stay and asking if there was any way they could improve the cabin. We had two minor suggestions that only if you stayed there you would notice. I am confident that the minor repair and additional glassware will be attended to before the next guest arrives.
When we travel back to Shipshewana, this cabin will be the first home we check for availability. Check it out - you will be glad you did.

The only thing that didn't work was the electric fireplace downstairs, everything else was great. They even let me check in early which was nice. I would def stay again. Thanks.

Had an amazing time staying at this cabin... we did experience a random power outage for a little over an hour but the owners were soooo accommodating. They let us stay an extra day to make up for the time lost. Will definitely be staying here again!

We had a great short stay over thanksgiving holiday in the bucolic hills of Shipshewana. House was very comfortable and the hot tub was terrific. Will stay here again, owners were responsive when we had questions.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this cabin in a beautiful setting! The location is just minutes from downtown Shipshewana, which was very convenient. It was too chilly to sit outside on the deck (I’m sure that’s great!) but my favorite thing was to wake up, drink my coffee and look out at the beautiful scenery from the family room. The host was terrific with communication and making sure we had everything we needed. The treats they left were delicious and a nice touch! We would love to come back!

The cabin was clean, spacious, and perfectly located. We loved that we could get onto our bikes and ride a short distance to The Pumpkin Vine Trail.
It is in a beautiful setting. We loved starting our mornings on the deck. It is in a quiet and friendly location and is close to town.
We found everything we needed as far as supplies. One main light was out, but the owner came over at our convenience to fix it.

We stayed for our anniversary and it was exactly what we needed! It was nice to be able to unplug and enjoy the views from the dock, cabin, and porch! The town is darling and lots of shopping!

Our stay was great...our hosts were very accommodating and answered any texts sent to them quickly. They addressed any concerns we had immediately...very kind...we loved our cabin and enjoyed our time immensely. The only concerns brought by my group was they felt cobwebs in rafters by hot tub needed to be knocked down....spider creeps :)...We would absolutely come back and deal with these hosts and this property again and we would also recommend it highly

We arrived to pure comfort-nice lighting, aromas, and a homemade snack. Not a speck of dust or single bug anywhere... Spotless! Everything is new or so well maintained that it looks new. The quality craftsmanship is stunning throughout this log cabin! (Be sure to read the cabins history-located on top of the bookshelf). There's simple instructions for everything you need to use. Kitchen is well stocked and has condiments and some staples that AREN'T expired. Located on a quiet dead end road. (You can see other homes but we never saw nor heard the neighbors.) There's privacy for the hot tub. The view of the lake was fantastic from the hot tub/patio, deck, downstairs bedroom and the living/dining/kitchen area. We even saw several swans!
We got lunch at Rise n Roll-best fresh bread and donuts, and dinner about 30 minutes away at Adam's Lake Pub-best everything! Make sure to check out some shops in Shipshewana, maybe even take a buggy ride.
This was exactly what we needed, I can't say enough! Thanks again!!!

My husband and i stayed here for our anniversary. The Cabin was absolutely perfect for the two of us, simple and clean. The town was wonderful, got to see a comedy show and dinner at the blue gate restaurant and theater. You wont be disappointed in your stay here!

Nice & quiet getaway, close to local attractions, the hot tub needs a good scrubbing between uses water was cloudy with an oily film on top of the water, mold on the inside cover and the attached bumpers in the corners of the tub.

This property was well-maintained and comfortably sized for our group of four adults. It’s a nice option for a no-frills weekend waterfront getaway or a home base to use while sightseeing in Amish country.

This cabin was the perfect getaway. It was beautiful, quiet, relaxing and just what we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. The property owner was excellent in communicating with us and check-in/out was a breeze. Highly recommend!!

A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. A lovely well kept community. Cabin was as described and about a six minute ride to downtown. I recommend visiting the animal farm nearby.

Hosts were wonderful. Had cabin ready for us early. Left us a great welcome gift! Location was fabulous, quiet area but minutes from everything we wanted to see. Hot tub was clean and amazing. We will definitely be visiting again!

Wonderful Low Key Weekend Getaway
This cabin was a wonderful half way meeting place for myself and some friends that reside in Detroit, MI. The listing and pictures were exactly as presented. The communication with the owners was wonderful. They reached out to us multiple times to provide us with useful check in information, make sure we were enjoying our stay and that we could check out a little later if needed. We were even left a treat to eat which was very much welcomed after a long days work and a 3 + hour car ride. They provide all of the comforts of home including a coffee/keurig maker that had a reusable cup in the event you brought your own ground coffee. The house was nicely stocked with towels, paper towels, TP, cleaning products, etc. We spent a lovely day visiting downtown Shipshewana and were in close driving distance to Elkhart as well. The downtown is really cute and has a lot of stores for your shopping or window shopping pleasure. Overall, a great stay and I would be back in a heartbeat!

Bufflehead Bliss
What a great location! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The weather cooperated enough for us to have coffee/tea on the deck in the morning and then watch the bufflehead ducks on the lake from the dock in the afternoon. In between we went shopping in Shipshewana and stopped by a couple of Middlebury bakeries. Totally relaxing time!
