Allison was a fantastic host and we were even able to add a night at the lodge for my parents. Chip, the property manager was welcoming and kind. The lodge was everything we needed and more! We cooked breakfast and dinner for our entire family for 4 days and everyone had plenty of space. The kitchen was great! The cabins were adorable. Everything was clean and comfortable. The cozy, relaxed environment was exactly what we were looking for to bring out families together over our wedding weekend. Thank you so much!!

Our extended family had a lovely stay at Black Powder Ranch. The property is rustic and has a lot of character. We enjoyed the lodge the best! Plenty of room for all of us to hang out, cook dinner, & play games. It was also the best location for Wi-Fi. The Hot Springs are close by, Jackson Hole is only 30 min away, Grand Tetons about 1 hour away, and Yellowstone is about 2 hours away. The distance didn’t bother us because the scenery is gorgeous. We spent our days traveling to the National Parks and our evenings hanging out at the ranch (chatting on the porch, playing ping pong or axe throwing, making smores in the fire pit, walking the property, etc.)
The property manager, Allison, was great at responding to our questions & making sure we had everything we needed. Great place to stay if you have a large group!

Quiet, clean, comfortable, and well stocked ranch. Having the separate cabins was a big plus for us. It’s a bit outside of Jackson on the opposite side as GTNP but the drive is very scenic and not too bad. The main kitchen didn’t have pictures as of when we stayed there but it has two professional style stoves, massive stand alone refrigerator and a separate freezer which made cooking for our large group easy. Great for large groups and we would definitely stay here again.

We needed a place that would accommodate 20 people and this place fit the bill. It is very far from Jackson and Grand Teton National park, but we still thought it was great. Extra time and planning made it all work. Everyone had what they needed and room to spare. The kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to host a dinner for all that were staying there. I would say the only downfall of this place is cell service. There isn’t any, which made communicating with our group difficult. But if you want to unplug and enjoy the beauty of this area, I recommend it.

We loved our stay! Great for groups. Easy access to Jackson. The cleaning crew needs some attention as there was a cabin that was not clean and that needed plumbing work. But overall we were really pleased and would come again!

This place is perfect for large groups that want to vacation together but also have your own space. A few issues with cleanliness, but Allison and the on-site property manager were VERY responsive and helpful. We were able to take advantage of fishing in the river - they really do have a little something for everyone. Would stay again!

There were 21 family members in attendance for our family reunion. Everyone was so happy with the setting and accommodations. The lodge was the perfect gathering place for all of us and the kitchen was more than adequate for preparing meals. We all having the Hoback River on the property. The Elkhorn Bar and Restaurant was a real western experience with great food and a short drive away.

The property is located in an absolutely beautiful area. A good place to unhook and unwind ..we had 21 family members, rented entire ranch for 7 days and nights; cooked almost all our meals at the ranch..relaxed, played games, enjoyed watching the hummingbirds, robins, horses in pasture next door; loved the stream out back; and just totally refreshed our minds! We were close enough to Jackson to enjoy some time there and visited the Elkhorn Bar and CStore for a fabulous burger lunch-good food and fast, friendly service..highly recommend..would have liked to visit there again on a Friday or Saturday night..bet it’s a hoppin place! The property is right on the highway and, seemed, at least to some of us-a very busy highway, but not an issue.
The property is definitely Rustic, as listed; our guys had to clean the grill at the main lodge before we could use it, the other two grills are unusable. The main lodge and cabins could use a deep, thorough cleaning and the freezer definitely needs a defrosting. Perhaps the cleaning crew needs more time; we had issues with mice in two cabins; and if you are staying for any length of time, bring all you may need as there are no extras provided-the kitchen has a huge refrigerator and adequate place settings; a couple of the tables need repair as the leaves won’t stay up which would allow them to seat more people.
All in all-we enjoyed our stay - we were looking for a place “off the grid” so to speak, and it fit the bill for us .

The Black Powder Guest Ranch was all it was promised to be and just what we were looking for as a large family vacation spot. It was close enough to Jackson to access activities there but far enough away to provide privacy for our extended family group. We fished, we cooked, we played outdoor and indoor games, and we told stories by the campfire. The drive into Jackson was a beautiful drive which made each trip easy. The ranch had all the supplies necessary to facilitate our group. The kitchen in the main lodge was updated and very functional. The beds in all the cabins and lodge were comfortable. Everyone slelt well. Overall, this ranch provided our group a fantastic place to stay and play.

My husband and I booked the Black Powder Guest Ranch to host a reunion with our friends. The weekend was a wonderful time to reconnect and enjoy beautiful Wyoming. The Ranch is a stunning property with so much to offer. The main building had enough space to accommodate our group of 27 for meals and games in the dining and living areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and the commercial grade fridge and stoves were a life saver! All of our friends slept wonderfully in their beds and many enjoyed the spa-like treatment in the downstairs steam shower. The on site manager Chip was kind and helpful as was Allison. She answered all of my questions prior to arrival and checked in on our day of check in. I can’t recommend the Black Powder Guest Ranch enough. We didn’t want our weekend to end, and should we plan another reunion in Wyoming we will surely be back to the Ranch!

The Ranch was very nice and we became more comfortable with it as the days past during our visit. That may sound strange, but each of our kid's family had their own cabin. The more days we were there, the group of buildings took on our family's personality. The lodge is laid out very well for a reunion. The kitchen and dining area was large enough to handle all of us. The dining area doubled as our game room during the evenings where we had different games being played on each of the different tables. Everyone gravitated to the game of their interest. One room off the kitchen became our kids crafts room. It was perfect to paint pet rocks and leave them to dry. The great grandparents loved the back porch where they could oversee the multi-family kickball game in the small field behind the lodge. Some of us guys went fishing in the river next the Ranch. Cutthroats were abundant once we figured out what flies they were biting. The family also like making the short drive up to Granite Hot Springs for a relaxing soak. Bottom line: Great stay, Great Time, Great Place!

Wonderful mountain & Hoback River setting
Large main lodge with 5 separate cabins but all within 75 years so we were all close enough but with privacy. The kids throughly enjoyed the river in the back of the property. We had S’Mores after building camp fires two nights. Kids loved it. Wonderful, informal setting.

Wonderful stay!
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was great to have the cabins as separate spaces. We spent a bit of time on the deck watching the birds and horses. It was a little closer to the highway than I had expected, but we didn't really notice it. Enjoyed the game room and river. We would definitely come back!

Perfect for our group
We had 5 families stay and it was perfect for the whole group. Each family had their sleeping areas and we shared meals and group time in the lodge. We hardly had to leave the property to enjoy our time. The creek running through was perfect and all the outdoor space added to the overall beauty. We are talking about going again next year!

Just Amazing
What an amazing place! I am so happy we found this gem! It made it super easy for our group to stay having multiple cabins and a fully stocked kitchen! The main house has a full fireplace which made made hanging out in the house an amazing time. There are farms nearby which lend to the beautiful backdrop here! I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Allison made things super easy and was fantastic to communicate with! I want to make a trip here a yearly occurrence! I absolutely love this place and it now has a special place in my heart! Can I rate it higher than a 5/5? Haha!

August 2021 stay at the Black Powder Ranch
This is a really terrific place to stay for large groups. Loved and appreciated the extra large refrigerator and full size freezer. There's plenty of space to spread out or gather as a large group. Con: there's no air conditioning in the space so if it's warm you're going to sleep with your windows open. Due the the location being right next to the busy highway sleeping is difficult unless you're a heavy sleeper. I recommend bring ear plugs!!!

Best family time ever!
We rented the whole ranch for our big family. Our Age range was 1-69. Three generations enjoyed out time and space for a week together! Great accommodations, well equipped and lots to do. The teens all tuned the River behind the ranch when we weren’t all off horseback riding, whitewater rafting, hiking or just enjoying the sights of Jackson Hole! Evening time at the lodge for dinner and games was the best! Everyone had lots of space and activities to keep them all happy! Great venue for a family reunion and adventure!

Beautiful place for a family reunion
I usually do not post on any sites but we really needed to let everyone know just how wonderful our stay at the ranch was for our Family reunion. We had the whole ranch (5 cabins and the main house) for 21 adults and 6 kids ages 4 -76. The firepit behind the cabins was a great gathering place too. The kitchen and all of the pots, utensils, ovens, huge freezer, and dish washer was so perfect for preparing meals for the whole family. The dining area with 3 large tables were great for meals and cribbage! There were plenty of bathrooms and showers. We never ran out of hot water. One suggestion would be to bring extra towels. We did wash the towels in the wonderful laundry room! We ended up using the large wooden table in the laundry room for working on our puzzles. The bar room was perfect right off the back deck where we spent many evenings playing guitars & singing. We loved being on the Hoback river. They fished and swam every day. Our biggest job was keeping the sugar water in the humming bird feeders on the front porch! Those little birds were so fun to watch. There must be a couple of dozen at least. The large grill on the front porch was also great for feeding all of us. The owners were very quick to response back to us via email with any questions. There is very limited phone service but we all lived with it and said it was nice to disconnect. Everyone loved our week at the ranch. The guys were talking about coming back one winter to hunt. Thank you so much for sharing your family property with us.

Great place for a large family reunion
This place was just what we needed for our large family reunion. There were many different spaces, inside and out, for gatherings. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking large meals. The five cabins also gave families with children a quiet, private place to rest. The owners were responsive and easy to work with throughout the process. We hope to come back some day.

Fantastic Location & Great for Large Groups for Families, Friends, Kids, & Furbabies!
The ranch was fantastic! Our entire group really enjoyed our time there and definitely would consider staying there again. We would highly recommend it!
The lodge with the cabins were a huge hit with our group, which consisted of different families, young and old, and with furbabies! The location was absolutely breathtaking with something for everyone. We basically utilized the entire property while we were there. The river in the back of the property was great for our avid fishers, and the game room kept the kids entertained the entire time. The entire family had a great time around the campfire. It was such a great bonding time for the family.
It is about a 30 minute drive to the Jackson Hole town center, but for a large group like ours, this place was perfect and it had enough to do and was close enough to everything that it didn’t matter. Our host, Allison, was also great to deal with and was always very responsive when we had any questions. Again, highly recommended!!!

A Ranch Experience
The ranch has a real western atmosphere especially for us East coasters. The accommodations were spacious, clean, and provided everything we needed. All 16 of us could eat at the three dining room tables at the same time. With so many people we enjoyed grilling out but sadly the large grill was not in good working condition. The location is just beautiful but 30-40 minutes from Jackson Hole. We had 4 cars driving back and forth every day. Overall, we all loved he ranch.

Family reunion
We had a lovey 4 day stay at the Black Powder Lodge. It is ideal for large groups like ours with enough room for everyone to have their own space. The kitchen is very large & is perfect for several cooks to work together but new get in each other’s way. Our time there together centered around the evening meal and the dining room arrangement allowed us to bring the tables together so all could sit at the same table. I kept hearing this comment “wow this place is perfect for us!”.

Wedding in Grand Tetons.
My husband and I got married in the Grand Tetons June 10th and had our close family and friends with us. (24 of us) Black Powder Ranch was the perfected location for us. Allison responded quickly every time I had a question. 10/10 recommended for large parties.

Stayed with the family here during the 2020 Winter Holiday in the middle of the global Covid outbreak. Black Powder Ranch was the perfect location to gather our family, while being remotely located within all the amazing winter wonderland activities in and around the Jackson area. We would spend our evenings gathered around the large fireplace in the lodge, while retiring for the nights spread out amongst the cabins for a bit more peace & tranquility. The industrial kitchen and large dining area were perfect for our needs, given all of our morning and evening meals during the pandemic were prepared and eaten at the BP Ranch. A perfect location within arms reach of Jackson Hole Skiiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing in Tetons National Park, and even bathing in a couple of the area’s nearby hot springs in the middle of winter.

We stayed at the ranch as a base camp for 5 couples. Honestly, did not spend a lot of time there but it worked perfectly for our motorcycle trip. Allison is fantastic to work with!

guest ranch
all in all really nice place. They did not mention all the pine trees on the mountains had burned from fire I think in 2016. The main grill at lodge only had one propane bottle so could only use half of large grill and had loose connection. The cabin I stayed in had NO silverware The lodge was wonderful except for the musty odor and the back area of kitchen where deep freeze is was not in very good shape and "taped" off for no use. overall it was nice and I would go back making sure a few of these downsides were taken care of before arrival

Totally awesome
We had such a great time at this property. We utilized the whole property. It was perfect! The cabin was so great and had ample space for the times that we our group of 24 were all together. It was close to Jackson, Teton Village and Granite Springs which we all visited. Also, there were several biking and hiking trails close by. I would highly recommed this property.

Perfect rental for large groups
Our group of 14 guys had a fantastic time on the ranch, we used it as a location for a college reunion and paired it with visiting Grand Tetons Nat’l Park. Everything we needed was available and as described in the listing. Commercial kitchen was fully stocked with all equipment we could possibly need. Fridge easily stored a weeks worth of food and drinks. Massive grill on the front patio, fire pit, game room, back patio all well suited for entertainment. True “out West” feel. Located a scenic drive from Jackson. Gained some street cred from locals when told of where we stayed versus where most tourists stay. We loved every moment. We will be sure to spread the word and revisit.

We had a wonderful experience at Black Powder Ranch!! It was so close to Jackson and Teton National Forest. It is rustic but that is part of the charm. We had plenty of room for all who could come and having the smaller cabins gave everyone a sliver of privacy.
