About this house rental
Newly remodeled, ON THE BEACH! OCEAN FRONT HOME ON PRISTINE SANDY WHITE BEACHES Spectacular views, best sunsets!
WE are located on the northern tip of the island... on a pristine white sandy beach overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico known as "Rum Point". There are 4 acres of private undeveloped land to the back of the property filled with tropical birds and trails... this makes our home very private and quiet!!!
To the front of our home is the Gulf of Mexico, just 10 steps and you can walk right in to turquoise waters!
Once you arrive at the dock, you will be directed to your golf cart which will be your island transportation during your stay, our island has no cars, only lushly lined sandy trails and golf carts! The property is a short 5 minute golf cart ride from the dock. Once you get settled into Rainbows End, you can explore the island with the furnished golf cart, or you can just relax and enjoy this magical beach house and the privacy it offers.
When traveling to a barrier island a beach front rental is really a must! The rhythmic sound of waves softly crashing just feet from your dinner table, spectacular sunsets from the porch or the beach, walk directly into the sparkling waters of the Gulf at any time, watch dolphins swim off your front porch most any day!
The island also offers miles of nature trails for hiking and exploring, over 600 acres of Federal Wildlife Preserve is one of the island’s many treasures. Miles of pristine and un-populated beaches, and depending on wind direction…always a calm beach to enjoy somewhere on the island.
North Captiva Island is a true offshore island, boat or plane access only, golf carts and bicycles on sandy trails vs cars and roads, yet all the conveniences of shore. The island has about 300 home owners, 4 bars/restaurants, a popular pool bar & grill, marina grill, small convenience store, guided fishing and boating tours, gift shop, boat rentals, grocery deliveries, etc. Once you arrive, you won’t want or need to leave!
Ferries run throughout the day, 20 minute boat ride, you can leave almost anytime, you just won’t want to! Also daily tour boats depart for island hopping, dolphin watching and grocery runs.
Give us a call or email, we would love to have you visit!!!!!!! The only bad part is, you won't want to leave :)

My family enjoyed the stay last week at this cottage right on the beach. Amazing views, saw dolphins while on the back deck. Remote, quiet, and relaxing. We had ants, the manager was responsive and had a professional out the next day. Just make sure to wear plenty of bug spray when outside, but that isn’t an issue with the property. Overall we were very pleased!

I am from the southwest Florida area and love Captiva. It had been sometime (pre-hurricane) since we had visited North Captiva. Rainbow’s End did not disappoint. First of all, the view is spectacular. You are right on the Gulf looking at Cayo Costa. We did indeed see manatees right out in front and actually got to swim with them. We also saw lots of dolphin and birds. This stretch of beach is amazing. It is so secluded you almost feel like you are the only people on the beach. What is fantastic about this property is the fact that it has a screened in porch across the entire front. You’re not sitting behind glass looking at the water. You’re actually able to sit out on the porch and hear the birds, hear the waves, and hear the rain. The stand out of this property was the outdoor shower. The Key lime body gel smelled amazing and was the perfect end to a day spent on the sand. The grill was brand new and we used it a lot. This house has everything you will need for a great day on the beach, chairs, noodles, floats, inner tubes, umbrellas, and toys for the kids. It was super clean and well stocked. We had plenty of room and with a little investment in the mattresses and the bedding, this place would be a home run. Shally’s Seashells Property management group was fantastic to work with. So responsive, so professional, and answered all of our questions. The grocery delivery service was amazing. We loved every minute here. This is a can’t miss property.

Great location and views. Just a great getaway and will stay again.

We loved being right on the beach with just a few steps from literally the water. Loved that there was a golf cart for us to use that was included in our stay. The only thing I would have wish for that there would have been cleaning products to clean the bathrooms and sliding glass doors when they got dirty. But I would definitely highly recommend on staying there and we will be back again hopefully next year. The property manager was on top of stuff when we needed it such as a new coffee pot when ours had broke. Also they helped to get use from the air port all the way to our rental home. Thank you so much for making our 25year anniversary so relaxing and wonderful . The Shepards

We really enjoyed our stay here! I loved being able to wake up and walk right out to the beach and swim every day. We were able to order fresh fish and have it delivered the next day. We saw dolphins several times right outside the house, and love photographing the wildlife on the island. We had a few maintenance issues and the management company was wonderful and very responsive to any issues. I mentioned we were having trouble with the grill and two days later a new grill appeared! The island is still rebuilding so there was some construction noise as the house next door was still finishing up. You will see construction in lots of homes. And there are only two restaurants open. Over the Waterfront was fantastic but make sure to make your reservation at least a week ahead. Definitely recommend. We had a great time!

The "starter kit" from the property managers was perfect, laundry, kitchen and bathroom items were plentiful. Thank you for leaving spices-the last VRBO I stayed in was completed stripped of everything. We were right on the beach-great view. My husband and I stayed the week, our daughter and grandsons joined us for a few days and there was plenty of room with the pull out couch. We had the groceries delivered and stocked ahead of time-everything was perfect. All services including ferry, stocking and arrival on the island were well coordinated. We look forward to a return trip. Only one and 1/2 restaurants open-not a lot of variety, but we enjoyed our options.

The house was very nice and cozy. kitchen had all the useful things needed. Loved the layout with all the areas to just hang out and listen to the ocean. Even though it was colder then usual was an amazing week.

Beautiful view, beautiful home. Just what we needed for a getaway. Location is perfect

This was our second stay at Rainbow’s End. Our first stay was the week before Hurricane Ian hit Florida. After seeing the pictures of the damage, we were all amazed at the incredible job done by the builders to recreate what we had enjoyed last year. Everything was perfect at this rental. The view of both sunrise and sunset was the absolute best. The screened deck was perfect for dolphin spotting as well as other ocean creatures. We especially enjoyed collecting shells at low tide. The communication with the management team was immediate and very responsive. I will be back! Thank you for a wonderful week!

Everything was absolutely gorgeous on North Captiva Island. Best birthday ever!

This was our second stay in this house. The location is awesome. We had great fishing right off our beach. The water can be beautiful but sometimes it gets churned up somewhat depending on the day. The house has been remodeled since last years hurricane and is cute The beds could be more comfortable and ideally a regular size sofa in the living area would have been more comfortable for our party. Kitchen is fully stocked, we had everything we needed. Now, you must bring or have them deliver all the food you will need for your entire stay. The restaurants aren’t running on a regular schedule. Some days they are closed, they also closed the kitchens by six on operating days. The food was not great either. But, that is not why we go there. If you want deserted beaches to yourself then this is the place. We go to Destin also but they are so crowded, this place is like being on a deserted island. They are also still very much in clean up mode after last year’s hurricane Ian but it doesn’t affect your stay and they need tourists to help them be able to rebuild. Don’t let this deter you, it is still beautiful. As before we would recommend this place to anyone, but we would tell you the caveats so you wouldn’t be surprised. I cannot recommend the seafood delivery service. It was delivered on time but the fish and shrimp did not seem fresh, the ice was melted when we received it off the boat. Take your own. Overall, for us we love this place, but make sure you prepare

This house was the perfect stay for a relaxing beach vacation. Loved the view! It will be a great place to go back when the island is back to 100%. Did miss having restaurants to visit but the grocery delivery service was great.

Gorgeous property! My family and I LOVED this home on the beach! Words can't express how beautiful it is. Property was clean and comfortable. Great communication from owners/property managers throughout. Smooth from start to finish. Loved our vacation at Rainbows End!

Love the house! Our only problem was the 9am checkout. That was just too early for our family. But we will be back to this island for sure.

Had a great week! The house was awesome!! Location was great! Definitely would recommend to others.

Vacationed for first time at Rainbows End and it did not disappoint. House was newly redone and very nice. The fully screened porch was nice to sitnout on and enjoy the sunsets. Look forward to making this a regular vaction plan after staying

This location is great to get away and relax. It’s in the perfect spot to watch dolphins, manta rays, manatees, and even a sea turtle if you’re lucky. The property was clean and has everything available to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.

This our third stay at Rainbow’s End - and definitely not our last. We won’t stay anywhere else. The house has everything you need. The renovations and upgrades to the house are beautiful and the on-site property management was incomparable and very responsive. No complaints. All was as it should be.
As always, the water was crystal clear at Rainbow’s End (compared to other areas along the beach) with many varieties of fish and a manatee or two. A bit startling at first to realize one is swimming right next to you - they’re huge! Happened last year too. But, such an amazing experience you won’t get anywhere else.
The island itself may still be recovering from the hurricane and may currently lack an amenity or two (thinking Barnacles) - but, this absolutely should not deter anyone from visiting. It’s an amazing and resilient place and the islanders are more than accommodating and hospitable. Services are not lacking in any way. Already wishing I was back. We’re actually trying to figure out a plan to come back towards the end of the year.
Rainbow’s End is the best place ever for so many reasons. One of the best is that they allow us to bring our puppies. Can’t say enough about that - it’s one of the few houses on the island (and on the beach) that allow pets. Makes it well worth the 12+ hour drive because our pups are our family - and they absolutely love it there too.
4.8
This was our second time staying at this property and won’t be our last! This is the best part of the island in our opinion and we’ve stayed in numerous other properties. The upgrades are beautiful and everyone associated with the property are very nice, helpful and attentive. Great place for a getaway!

This property has an amazing location. Our check in process and check out process was flawless. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for in house cooking. The beach is mere steps from the back door and the deck was perfect for the older members of our party to watch the ocean. The beach is the star of this rental. We completely enjoyed our stay. The only criticism I would give is the vegetation has almost completely overtaken the view from the screened deck….a trim is really needed. (But that is my only criticism!) I hope to visit this location again. Thank you for a wonderful beach vacation!

Can’t say more about the location of this house, it’s perfect for anyone simply wanting peace and quiet. Our 2nd year staying at the house - with hopefully many more. One of the the best things about this house is that well-behaved dogs are very welcome. Our pups are our family and we don’t want to leave them behind when we go on vacation. The long road trip was well worth it, because Rainbow’s End (and the island as a whole) is very accommodating to having them there.
Also want to give a special thanks to the grocery delivery service, which was excellent, and the property management team on the island, which was very responsive to any issues or questions we had - both worth their weight in gold!
Looking forward to our next visit at Rainbow’s End!
Thanks Jen!

This was the last vacation with the family intact as our son left for Navy bootcamp a few weeks after. It did not dissapoint! The property was very ideal in terms of set up, location, and views. We saw 3 different stingrays(?) breach the water completely on different days, as well as a pod of dolphins strolling by on the beach less than 30 yards from the water line. Our 10 year old was ecstatic! The evenings were so quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend this property for those looking for a getaway from the realities of the every day grind.

One of the most stunning views you will ever see. You can cook, grill out or have a private chief cook for you, there are 4 restaurants on the island all golf cart accessible. No cars. Just the peaceful sound of the ocean. The property managers were great.. always willing to help. If you are looking for a private or semi- private beach get away this place is the best!

The house was exactly as listed, clean and tranquil. Our favorite spot was the front porch, the breeze kept us cool and the sea life kept us entertained. The grocery delivery was perfect and we had a great time.

There was great communication with all staff. Management team was very polite and did whatever was necessary to make our stay even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend to anybody who is looking to stay on North Captiva! Will definitely be there for the next Fourth of July!

We had a fabulous stay. Joseph was wonderful helping us get checked in, so prompt, helpful & friendly. House was perfect so close to the beach. We loved Mangos & had a wonderful boat trip with Captain Sam! Found many beautiful shells. Will def. Do a return trip.

This is an amazing house with arguably the best view and location on the island. I love that the property is in a private area so you do not have many people on the beach or driving golf carts by on the main path. If you are obsessed with shells, you are going to love it here. Just remember to only take a selection of dead shells and please do not force out any residents (crabs, etc.). The rule of thumb I use is to smell the shell - if it stinks - set it back down because something is living in there (or sadly rotting in there - but circle of life - the ants or other sea life will make good use of it). The water here is beautiful tropical greens and blues just like the Caribbean and calmer then the east coast. Perhaps the coolest thing about the location is that manatees will swim with you. We felt very secluded and saw lots of wildlife (gopher turtles, sea turtle nests, manatees, eastern indigo snakes). It is very peaceful. The house is well stocked, and I mean well stocked. I always pack travel items and toilet paper, etc. but you really didn't have to here unless you have certain brand preferences. I highly recommend the grocery delivery and stocking service from Dervil Property Management (Yvena and Joe are fantastic and super responsive!). Being an island with limited restaurants and even more limited healthy options, meal planning ahead of time works out really well. The maintenance group was also fantastic - upon arrival the house was being power-washed and all outdoor furniture cleaned (there are so many seating options including 2 hammocks - one down in a beach alcove, one on the screened in porch, plenty of chairs and tables both on the porch and under the house, and 3 sets of lounge chairs - one on the sunning deck, one in the private alcove on the opposite side from the hammock, and one at the beach path nearest the ocean. We used those the most. Our first night, the microwave had a power failure, I texted Yvena and she connected with the owner (whom we also had the pleasure of meeting the next day). In the morning, the owner brought a brand new microwave, had a brand new dishwasher installed (not a request - was something planned that we benefited from) and brought a better gold cart with higher tires to navigate the paths. Later, Nico (Nicholas) came out to install the dishwasher and we had a blast talking with him about the Island. He also brought new air filters and replaced those. We felt like VIPs! Thanks!

The view from this property is so beautiful it lures you in. But don't be fooled people, this place is a filthy hole. I can understand if we were 20-year-olds paying a nominal nightly fee to stay, but four $ figures a night I thought would bring us to a luxury home. WRONG! The shower curtain was black with mold. The upholstery on the living room chair was ripped and shredded. The throw rugs were torn with holes in them. The reverse osmosis water system has not had the filters changed in I don't know how long, my husband and I had diarrhea for two days after making iced tea with it. The sheets could not have even been from Walmart, they were so thin and scratchy they had to be from someplace like the dollar store. The toilet seats were broken so every time you sat on them, they moved a half inch. One bathroom sink was severely cracked the other is no longer attached to the wall. I found a half dead RAT in the portico where the outdoor shower and golf cart are. There was black mold completely covering the sink sprayer. As advertised, there were no bikes and no gas grill. The blue front door welcomes you with a filthy, black door-knob which I never touched. This place could be a dream getaway if the owner would just put some care in it. One nice thing, the screened in porch has some fabulous views. I took pictures of all of this. Unfortunately I could not find a way to upload them here.

Our family of five had a great time at this property for spring break. The location and the steps to the gulf were unreal; we felt the natural beauty of North Captiva every time we stepped outside. The house itself is adequate, with the most important stuff in great shape. The property owners were very attentive. We recommend.
