What made our stay so wonderful was the wonderful staff— especially Anna, who was so kind and helpful. The dinner in the

Beautiful decor — authentic wood design with modern amenities. Very quaint yet well appointed.

Shower was difficult to use. No elevator.

Great hotel - I’d stay there again!

Great hotel. Perfect location. Nice room with beautiful mountain view. Food was excellent. Staff were so friendly. It was Excellent!

Stairs were difficult with heavy baggage.

Gut mit Potenzial zur Verbesserung

Zentrale Lage, schönes Haus, nettes Personal, gutes Essen, saubere und bequeme Betten

Minibar war leer, Badezimmer könnte ansprechender sein (Design/Komfort), allgemein könnte das Haus mehr auf Details achten (Kabelsalat, Spinnweben, kaputte Lampen im Restaurant, Unordnung an Reception), Frühstück nicht sehr gut (kein Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis).

Excellent stay in a nice quiet city

Everything was perfect in the property including the breakfast, staff, rooms and overall the quality of the stay exceeded my expectations as Julia provided us with great service and met all of our needs. Likewise, she knows the place extremely well and was able to direct us to the best places in the city.

Lovely place.

Lovely staff, beautiful location, prices were reasonable. The Hotel was very nice with its wooden spiral steps. Views were nice during breakfast as well. I would definitely return here in the future.

It was a little warm in our room. Open windows only allowed flies inside. Screens or Netting or a fan would have been perfect. The room was perfect otherwise.

What a little Gem

All of it. Our first time to Switzeland and we were greeted by a lovely Julia who ensured us to treat the hotel like home. All the staff were gracious and couldn't do enough for us. The area was amazing. The whole trip exceeded our expectations.

Great service!

Hotel staff was bubbly and helped us carried our super heavy luggage up the stairs though there was no lift. We were offered hot coffee early next morning to go as well since we were trying to catch our train. Small act of kindness goes a long way! Recommended!

Exceptional location, below par service, which eventually needed freebies to make up for it

The staff eventually went out of their way to make up for the fact that we were constantly waiting to be served... resulting in at least some free glasses on wine and croissants

We were really waiting long for food at the restaurant. The beds were not the most comfortable. It felt like the property is hiding behind the fact it's 400 years old, by not maintaining some basic elements you expect...

Great location but very disappointing room not worth the price

Great location in the heart of Gruyeres village. Wonderful view from the room and the restaurant. Staff were very friendly on arrival and in the restaurant. Food was good but expensive.

I chose this room as it had a Nespresso machine for my husband and a fridge for cold drinks for me - neither worked. When I raised this at checkout I was offered coffee - I should stand and wait after I had waited a very long time to check out for a crappy cup of coffee - quite frankly I think I should have been offered a discount as the room was hugely expensive and was not as described. The hard sell on the restaurant, breakfast etc was overbearing but upon leaving the staff were much less friendly. Major disappointment given the high price. It's also incredibly noisy so don't expect sleep. The bells going off at 6.30am are not the problem - other guests banging on doors and having loud conversations outside your room are.

Lovely hotel, great ambiance, good value!

Location, 10/10. The staff were all excellent, especially the manager, Joulie Klimenko. She was very personable, professional, and informative. Although everything is expensive in Gruyere, the price was a good value by local standards. The dining terrace is lovely, the food very good. Our room was very clean, relatively large, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom lovely. The overall ambiance is very nice. My wife loved it. We would return.

Minor point: more wall hooks near the sink to hang toiletry kits from! This is my universal less-than-optimal comment, everywhere. Travelers carry hanging toiletry bags; the sink is where they're needed; there should always be hooks!

Wonderful hotel in the old town

The location, right in the old town, and the view from the room towards the pedestrian street. The staff working there are really fantastic, many thanks to Joulia who made sure I feel at home and to Aida, at the restaurant.
