Zalig verblijf van 1 nacht

Volgens mij is de accommodatie een oude boerderij die wordt verbouwd. De verbouwingen zijn nog steeds aan de gang maar daar hadden we geen last van. De ligging is FABULEUS : echt ‘in the middle of nowhere’ : midden in een desolaat landschap De gastheren zijn heel gastvrij en doen er alles aan om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken.

Isolated location with fantastic views and convenient community kitchen.

Isolated location. Also, community kitchen was fun.

The 5 mile rutted out road to get there. Also, we didn't know you were supposed to stop in the previous town to find out what room you had, so when we got there, nobody was around to check us in. Luckily we found someone who let us use his phone to call you and find that out.

Very good

Very clean and quiet. Great bed for sleep. Room was comfortably heated with the extra heater. Great size kitchen/dining hall.

We would not have chosen this location had we not wanted to go the eastern side of Dettifoss. Road 864 was awful to drive on.

Good for Ring road "drivers"

If you follow an instruction of owner about location, then there is no problem to find. First you drive to Grimstunga for key (very easy to find on Google map) and that you continues for 7 km to your room. Room is spacious, bright and with terrasse. Kitchen has well equipment. Location is overall good, very close to ring road and close to Detifoss waterfall (east).

The place has two parts, one completely new and older, both were great. The shower was great and the rooms nice and clean

The road there is a long typical icelandic dirt road which is fine but to get to the place was not clear on Google maps or Waze, we had to ask and the closest place there was 20mibs drive away

great view and location.

the location was superb with Dettifoss and Myvatyn easily accessible. lovely views and space to unpack cases inside and loved the veranda.

some people might not like that it was situated on the 864 gravel road, didn’t bother us. it is well maintained and driveable.

unique location well appointed, high quality great internet. Netflix!!! great kitchen exceeded expectations

this is a unique location so come prepared. you have to bring your own food. the adjoining room left their outside light on all night, which detracted from the atmosphere, but this was a minor issue

The remotnes, surrounding, accomodation was fantastic. The kitchen is great, all you could ever ask for.

It was difficult to communicate with the owner, it took us a while to find out which toom was ours, because noone was on site, but in the end it worked out oerfectly fine.

we spent a very bad night in cottage n°16: water runs down the walls inside the bedroom. one of the beds was soaked by the dripping water and could not be used. Our son had to sleep with us. In addition, there was only one small auxiliary heater which is not sized to heat such a large space. The walls let in currents of air which cool the room. We see repairs with putty to fill the cracks in the wood of the walls. We were expecting an answer to our complain but nothing after sms and email.

check in office around 7km a way, and check in instructions didn’t clearly give instruction, hard to find check in office.

The road to get there was unpaved, and it was also a little unclear how to get to both check-in and the cabins. Google Maps couldn’t find a route, and the instructions did not make it super clear.

Quiet and nice place!

Great location near Dettifoss. Good room and very conveniently equipped kitchen and common area! Just pay attention it is located on a gravel road so pay attention to your car’s tyres!

Fabulous

The location is absolutely amazing, the rooms are modern and seem to be recently renovated, the internet connection was really fast.

A bit too pricy for what you get in a place like this.

Clean and comfortable

Very clean room in lovely surroundings, a convenient stopping point between the North and East of Iceland. Nice views of the river and mountains. I liked that the triple and family rooms have a private entrance. Good dining room with cooking facilities and a modern spacious layout.

The road to the property is really hard to drive on- I would be very careful of doing it in a rental car. It is also very expensive for what you get, but all the guesthouses in the area are charging similar due to their remoteness.

Very calm place to stay!

The room is new so everything is very comfortable. The shared kitchen is great but don’t forget to bring your breakfast

5 star pricing for 3 star facilities and 0 star service.

Remote location to see aurora and great views. Room was very clean, yet missing railing to hang clothes. Seemed unfinished.

Grossly overpriced (150€ night) for a nice room with inadequate shared cooking facilities if it were full. 2 cooking rings and a microwave for 20 rooms, that will need to cook as there isn`t another building for 30 km. There was no staff at all. You collect keys 10 km away and are left alone. They even forgot to lay out the included buffet breakfast on the second day.
