About this house rental

Say hello to the Front Range, small town, Rocky Mountain vacation or wedding weekend home of your dreams.

Perched atop an eight story cliff rising straight up from the St. Vrain River
& overlooking the Planet Bluegrass festival grounds, enjoy downtown convenience and privacy, along with breathtaking valley and 14'000 mountain views.

Located at the very mouth of the canyon that leads to Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park, 15 minutes from Boulder, your 1,350 sq. ft, 2 BR & Queen sleeping loft/2 Bath accommodations set at the top of 1/3 acre are a living expression of the local environment - passive solar, native sandstone floors, 16' vaulted cedar ceilings, alpine breezes, unparalleled St. Vrain Canyon, Continental Divide and Steamboat Mountain views from the master bedroom, open living area, large shaded back deck, clifftop patio, and fully fenced backyard.

Causally comfortable and artfully decorated, if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy seamlessly indoors and out and savor the very best of what Colorado has to offer, you've found your spot. If birds could design a cliff-top castle - and you will see plenty, maybe even our resident eagles - this is likely what they'd build.

By day enjoy the river, spectacular hiking, and trout fishing, or world class mountain biking, by evening grilling and dinner on the deck and one magnificent sunset after another. Start your day with another perfect sunrise and end your night around the propane fire pit, serenaded by the river and windchimes, marveling at the abundant stars.

Make a day of Denver (45 mins) or Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park (30 mins); Buzz into Boulder for world class cuisine, national touring acts and the University of Colorado.

Don't want to break the spell and jump into a car? Explore Lyons by foot with Main Street two blocks from your front door. Start your day on the patio of Moxie at the bottom of the street. Pick up a sandwich at the St Vrain Market and go tubing in Lavern Johnson Park. Visit the galleries, gift shops and antique stores, before craft beers at Mainstage or the original Oskar Blues. Have an exceptional dinner at Marigold or Farra, maybe a cocktail, or award wining whiskey or gin at Spirit Hound distillery. How about some old school pinball before catching some lively local music, or kicking back around the fire pit at the Rock Garden? The possibilities and rewards are endless.

A weekend here will take your breath away; a week will top your heart off with the memory of a lifetime; a long-term stay will ease your spirit and restore your soul.

Welcome Home.

* We welcome our well-behaved canine friends ($50 for 1/$75 for 2); please be aware that the fence is less than 4' in places and there can be plenty of wildlife tempting an overly exuberant dog :)

We absolutely loved our stay here! The host was extremely responsive and friendly, he provided plenty of information in response to any of our questions. Checking in/out was very easy (especially due to the host’s quick communication). Lyons Den was cozy and comfortably housed our group for a whole week. We had access to virtually anything we needed, the house was stocked with anything we could think of. Overall, very clean and had fun decorations. It is also conveniently located to the town center as well as the main roads that lead to Boulder or Estes Park. We were able to walk to a few restaurants and stores on days where we didn’t feel like going to the city for dinner. I would highly recommend Lyons Den to anyone taking a trip to RMNP or the nearby wedding venues!

Our group of 4 adults stayed here for a wedding at Lionscrest manor and had more than enough space. Could easily accommodate 6 adults and still have plenty of room. Comfy beds, spacious living area and an awesome back deck. Great communication and easy check in/out process. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while In town for a wedding at Riverbend venue. The home is a 5 minute walk to downtown Lyons and the venue. It’s an eclectic home with interesting artwork and great views. The king bed was comfortable (we didn’t use the queen room or the loft), and there were plenty of fresh white bath towels. The en-suite bathroom off the king room is updated nicely. We really enjoyed the views from the outdoor patio, propane grill and firepit. Any communication with the owner was quick and professional. This was a charming quirky home in a quiet mountain town and has all of the essentials you need for alittle getaway. We enjoyed our time here.

We stayed here for the Folks Fest. We were 3 adult couples. Everyone in my group raves about the convenience of the location. You can see the stage clearly from the yard. The owner provided binoculars so we could see the performers up close. There’s a scenic river separating the house from the venue but a short 10 min walk gets you there. We took lots of breaks during the festival to take a short nap or eat lunch at the house. It has a nice patio for relaxing with a morning cup of joe as you watch a steady stream of hummingbirds fly by. We all agreed that we’d rent this house again. 2 thumbs up.
