Perfect location if you do the Beech Club Membership. Guest house and Patio need some TLC. Furniture in both house and guest house need to be updated. Old and very uncomfortable. Beautiful house though, just needs some TLC and better living room furniture.

The house needs lots of TLC. Not clean inside or out. Very sparsely equipped kitchen unless you need multiple coffee pots…which they did have. The nicest part in the house was the kitchen island. The covered outside area was nice, but dirty and messy. IN A NUTSHELL THE HOUSE IS JUST NOT KEPT UP AT ALL!!!
You can definitely do wonders with house photos when trying to rent a place.

Our two children and spouses soen the week enjoying each other and the adventures we had. House was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. My husband loved the fishing in yhe lake and we loved the hiking and the girgeous views. Banner Elk and Boone wete a treat to visit! It was a beautiful blesding for us all!

So we planned this trip due to my son graduating from high school instead of a party we decided on a mountain trip. The day before we decided to do an early check-in and had no pending hassles online.
When we got there the passcode did not work so we called the rental office and they were excellent in resolving the issue and was very pleased with their kindness.
We very surprised with all the wildlife on this property within the hour of arrival there was a baby fawn along the side of the house. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and other supplies which was great. The back porch with the tv was very calming in the evenings.
The only down fall is this property needs a deep clean.

We couldn’t love this property more! The outside is everything we wanted plus more. Our 1&2 year old loved being able to be outside in the covered porch area. The listing was exactly what they said but they forgot to mention the BEAUITFUL Waterfall and creek behind the house. Honestly that took this from great to perfect for us. There was a lot of dust outside and a couple pieces of trash, but nothing we couldn’t pick up and go on with ourselves. We came up to celebrate my nephews life as the anniversary of his passing and we’re so blessed to have had an amazing experience here that we are planning to make this a tradition, including the property

We booked the rental for a 4 day couples retreat. The property was really nice and equipped with everything we needed. Our only issue was the amount of dust that triggered allergies for some. The location was great and really quiet. We love the guest house that our older guest selected for their accommodations. We would recommend the property and even return. Thanks for allowing us to stay.

Great location for skiing Beech Mountain. Beautiful house. Some broken furniture and no welcome folder explaining how to use fireplace, TV etc, or where to eat, things to do. If you are planning on cooking bring all everything you need! The only condiments were salt and pepper. Also be sure to bring pot holders.
Again great location and beautiful house and with a little more attention to detail would be a five star property.

The location and layout of the house are perfect. It is well used but not maintained well. The yard had beer cans and cigarette butts and the bedroom fans were disgusting. We loved the big open space of the kitchen and living room. We didn't use the guest house but it would have been perfect for another family or in-laws. We loved the outdoor decks and yards for snow sledding. However it is right on the main road and I think the front yard is a picnic area for the beech mountain subdivision.
We loved our stay and would stay again because I don't know if we could find better location but would expect to do some cleaning on arrival, bring covers for sofa, and vacuum bedroom carpets. Also the jacuzzi was dirty. It smelled weird and every few minutes globs of hair would float up. We only used it one time.
The contract was very responsive to a few questions.

Please call me at +18658500863 for conversation. Too much to list but I’ll be happy to tell you about it. I do have pictures to support what I’m telling. I’d like for the property owner to call me. He/she will not be happy as we were really disappointed.

We had 4 couples on motorcycles stay here for our annual trip. Property was clean but dated. Central outdoor common area was great gathering place for the 8 of us. the large kitchen counter top allowed all of us to dine together. Kitchen utensils as well as pots and pans could have a better selection for preparing larger meals. We were able to park two pickups with 12 ft and 14 ft trailers in the driveway and still had plenty of room to park the bikes..
Would definitely recommend staying here again.

Great cabin and the added guest house is really a great option the outdoor fireplace, sitting area and hot tub were where we stayed most of our time at the cabin. So relaxing!
The kitchen could use some additional cooking utensils and the sofas inside could use new cushions. A little too soft for my liking. But overall, I’d rent this cabin again and probably will!

Great for large group gathering
Very beautiful property. The large island in the kitchen was perfect for our large group to gather around for meals and socializing.
The outdoor area is nice, unfortunately it was too cold for us to put it to full use. It would have needed cleaning if we did want to use it.
The kitchen could be better equipped. Very few utensils for cooking and silverware for eating.
The guest house is a great addition. We had part of the group that wanted to retire earlier then the rest of us and it was perfect for this.

MAINTENANCE ISSUES!
DO NOT ASSUME YOU CAN WORK REMOTE FROM THIS HOUSE. Beech Mountain has limitations on wi-fi power. Simple stuff will probably work- not my system tied into a VPN with a large corporation.
We counted 27 maintenance issues with this home during our 2 week stay- from a minor item of no door knobs on laundry bi-fold doors, to a serious propane leak on the outdoor grill. Carolina Cabin rental agency was responsive and did follow up calls, but they said most items would not be repaired during our stay. A neighbor shared that this house has been in the rental pool for 9 years- it is showing-as the saying goes..."rode hard and put up wet!". We were severely disappointed in the condition that we found the home upon arrival. We thought we were renting an 'upscale home' that would have been well taken care of.. There was a thick covering of dust all over the outdoor area, which was very nice after an hour of cleaning. We quickly lost confidence in the cleanliness of the home, and continued to clean for another 2 hours on the inside. Covid not withstanding, it was still well below our standards.
The room air conditioners were noisy and not that effective. Thank goodness for cool weather on the mountain!! But that also increased the humidity inside the home. A final note that outdoor furniture was old and very uncomfortable. A cushion was missing. The master bath has a funky glass partial enclosure that failed to prevent water from spilling onto the floor when showering, creating a slip and fall hazard. No bath mats were provided. wood decking between the house and covered outdoor area became very slippery when wet- (deck boards were 'holding water' in them, probably installed improperly.) Good luck if you rent this one!

I'm sure this review won't be posted or public knowledge, but the stay at Stettin Haus was horrible. The hot tub was filty, Carolina Cabins sent one of their people out to drain and clean and they even admitted it was filthy. The fireplaces wouldn't light until the tech came out to service them. Direct TV did not work until the 3rd day because the owners hadn't signed into their account to give access. The the worst and most significant horror of our stay is that unfortunately my son stayed in the one guest room on the bottom floor (has the full bed in it) one night and was bitten multiple times within that night. It was determined to be bed bug bites by his doctor. It also appears that some probably were on his bookbag which he brought home and into his room. We are currently treating his rooms for them. Carolina Cabins nor the owner take any responsibility for this. My house was inspected by Orkin and found no evidence of beg bugs at our home and no one in our home ever had any bites like this. Carolina Cabins said the owner's pest company found no evidence of bugs there either...but my son was bitten overnight with staying in that one room and now brought some back to our home which NEVER had anything like that..ironic huh???
To say the stay at Stettin Haus was poor is an understatement. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Accomodations were very comfortable. In hindsight would have preferred housing for all under one roof. Some ceiling lights need replacement. Loved the counter space in main. Very nice stay.

My family and I had a great time. Would have given the cabin 5 stars if the kitchen wasn't so limited on cook ware and the grill and sofa weren't desperately in need of replacing.

LOVELY LOCATION - TIRED ACCOMMODATIONS
No surprise here. I have plenty of additional comments and photos to support your conversation with the owners. There is also and electrical problem with the lights tripping (outside ground wire problem perhaps).

Christmas Stay with my Family
We loved staying at the house. The home was very cozy and fit our needs as a large family. We loved the close proximity to town and Beech Mountain.
We did have a few issues. The hot tub was not clean and didn't not function properly. It was missing jet covers, the filter was clogged with debris, and there was sand and dirt in each seat. I called the morning after we checked in and requested the management company send someone out to clean it, but received no response the rest of our stay. The kitchen could use new knives, or a way to sharpen the ones that are available. Lastly, the roll-out bed in the guest house is not suitable for sleeping. It was extremely uncomfortable and loud. It needs to be replaced.
The hot tub and large/functional kitchen were our top requirements for booking this house. We were very disappointed that the hot tub wasn't better maintained.

Great family vacation
We love the cabin. We had a party of 11 and we had plenty of room. The kitchen was great we were all able to sit together and enjoy our meals. The kids loved the fireplaces, hot tub and the creek near by. Overall great cabin.

Mostly a good stay
Overall I was pleased with the property. The house was clean and my wife said the bed was comfortable which is something she never says after a stay! It was not all good however, there were a bunch of remotes that were a pain to decipher what went to where and how they needed to be used. I arrived around 5pm and the check in was allowed at 3pm. This is important because when I arrived a guy from the property management was there adding water to the hot tub from the tap. I thought no big deal and he said it would be up to temperature in a couple hours which shouldn’t have been a problem because we had an event to attend that evening. When we returned at 10pm the water was 80F, it took until the next day to get it to temp! The next evening it was useable but I would have expected it to be ready when I got there for the price I paid. Other than those issues all was good with the stay.

After we had the hiccups fixed (sheets with dog hair in master bedroom, Stove being left on, and hot tub not being emptied, lights not working in the downstairs bedroom and receptacles) The staff that came out to fix the issues were very nice. The house worked perfectly for us with it being so close to a fishing hole. I hope to make it up there again sooner then later.

The house is great! We did enjoy our stay so much...The kitchen was Great!Loved the BAR..perfect for our group...the outside fireplace are was perfect! Loved the large outdoor space!
Some upgrades I would do if it were mine...Carpets need to be cleaned, The master bedroom upstairs...the housekeepers must have spilled some water from the de-humidifier on the carpet, when we were soaking up as much as we could with the white towels, it was pretty ugly, the color of the towels from the dirty carpet... Pillows on some of the beds need replacing...outdoor cushions need some TLC, a bit worn and dated...and should be swept with the housekeeping service...and more towels is a must with the hot tub...needed at least twice as many as we received...Housekeeping on the house was not the greatest, there was a swept pile of dirt in the kitchen area not picked up when we arrived...and dirty rags left on humidifier from them trying to clean up the water spill...

A beautiful setting with a brook in the back and frequent visiting deer. Very dog and child friendly. Though there are only portable floor unit air conditioners and ceiling fans the cool mountain air makes it cool enough when the windows are open if staying in the Summer. We stayed in late July and to my surprise no mosquitoes were around and we were able to enjoy the nice covered deck even in the rain. The cabin was roomy for us all to visit and play board games at night and the extra guest house was great for us old folks with our little dog to sleep. Very charming place to create family memories with the grandchildren. There is a small lake very close we all walked to.You can go fishing or just sit and enjoy the view. If you are a nature lover this is the place.I hope to return again one Summer or fall.
