Lovely quiet location, enjoyed our walk into Ludlow from the hotel. Comfortable room thank you.

Excellent quiet location with lovely walk over the river bridge into Ludlow. Comfortable bedroom, friendly staff.

Would have preferred to have a larger bathroom with a bath however the shower was fine.

Underwhelmed, uninspiring sad property. Very disappointed.

Mushrooms were tasty at breakfast. This is the only positive thing we can comment on.

WiFi useless. Basic dated rooms with paper thin walls where you heard everything in adjoining rooms. Heard all conversations, snoring, going to the toilet etc. Very disturbing and unpleasant. Hardly slept. Cheap very unpleasant furniture. Room looked out at a very close caravan park. Inexperienced staff, reception not maned. Only saw someone at checkin who was unhelpful. Very underwhelmed and disappointed. How the hell did this place get 4*!!!!!! Will be writing a complaint to AA who have obviously never stayed here.

Excellent hotel

The staff were very welcoming Our room had an excellent view of the castle in the background Breakfast was excellent. Everything was freshly cooked for you. The location was great for walking into Ludlow

The room only had a bath with a handheld shower. But the room was large and comfortable

Staff were lovely, location was good, food good

For the price a single bed with little cupboard space on the top floor was not comfortable. I would have expected more comfort for £190 especially as the property did not appear to be fully booked.

Perfect! Could not fault our stay.

Location was amazing, within walking distance of the town and close to nature reserve/forests to walk the dogs. Staff were all very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. We had lunch and an evening meal there and was absolutely amazing.

The food is excellent, exceeded our expectations for dinner and a great cooked breakfast. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Ludlow.

Has the potential to warm and welcoming.

Size of the room and bathroom were fine.

Noise levels; walls so thin you can hear conversation in neighbouring room. Service whilst polite wasn’t warm or welcoming. Felt like guests were a mild irritation rather than the main focus of the business.

Very disappointing-

All food was good and served by pleasant people.

The room was very disappointing. Hotel was entirely empty yet we were shown to a mediocre room on top attic floor. There was no shower . The pillows were lumpy . We felt the room was overpriced at 120. We felt the room was worth about 80. On leaving the bill was incorrect as it had a charge for a room upgrade which clearly was not the case. They did remove the charge.

As expected after many years staying here it was comfortable and friendly.

We love Ludlow and have stayed at the Cliffe on many occasions. We usually dine in the hotel but had another engagement in the town this time. The staff are always v helpful and friendly. I never consider staying anywhere else.

Good location near to town centre.

Breakfast was excellent and service very good.

The starters and main courses of the evening meals were poor. Some of the food was very salty and portions were small. Expensive for what it was. Wish there was a lift and more comfortable chairs in lounge.

Very nice, comfortable and quiet location.

I have stayed at this hotel some years ago and would say the breakfasts were better then, in that you could serve yourself to what you wanted. Location is superb which is why I chose it.

Ludlow is a stunning place and well worth a visit

Spotlessly clean, beautiful location

The lack of a bar during the evening, once dinner service had finished the bar closed which was inconvenient as the hotel is quite a walk out of town down a very dark lane

We had a lovely weekend and we’re comfortable but this was not in any way enhanced by the hotel . I would not recommend

Good location with easy acess to town and easy parking

The public areas were not comfortable. The staff ,though efficient , were cold. All of the decor needs upgrading . No access to any staff or facilities after 10pm which is very early .

Great stay back in Ludlow. Good value for money. Would hope to return

Breakfast great. Smoked haddock and scrambled eggs, my favourite. All the rest good as well. Lovely comfy room. Toiletries, tea,coffee etc. Bed v comfortable
