I wouldn't currently recommend this place.

Location and off road parking.

It's not cleaned sufficiently between stays, felt like it could do with more attention. No robes and slippers as advertised. The garden furniture has been left out in all weather and cushions were too filthy to sit on. You have to have the blinds down in bathroom and bedroom as guests in the main house were looking in at us. Felt like being in a gold fish bowl. Dining chair cushions were stained. Damp in the corner of the bedroom. No real storage or work space to speak of in the bedroom. The wardrobe is a wooden pole over an exit door. The pictures make this place look magical but I think that the owners have let it lose its sparkle.

Did not provide tea bags or coffee, but did provide milk. Automatic lighting in bathroom would come on randomly at night along with underfloor heating making rooms too warm. Apart from some liquid soap for hand basin no amenities in the shower.

Have stayed in far cleaner places,this really lets it down.

The underfloor heating,dishwasher and comfy bed

The damp smell throughout and the lack of cleanliness.No teatowels!oven and oven glove dirty.Kitchen sink not clean,lots of cobwebs and dust,bed linen didnt smell fresh,crunchy towels,top of toilet not clean.,damp on blind.It really could be a great place if more attention was paid to detail,such a pity.We are going to be frequent visitors to Ludlow but sadly not sure we’d book this again :(

Could and should have been so much better not great value for money. Cleaning and hygiene poor.

Location was ideal for walking to Ludlow and for driving to local attractions, towns villages etc.

Cleanliness was poor. Had difficulty opening and closing front and patio doors, I put some oil on them, told Laura needed attention. Outside light not working. Fridge hadn’t been cleaned, food from previous tenants left behind, milk out of date, water bottle half full. Cleaner came at 17.30 cleaned fridge, and gave me a bar of chocolate as an apology. Bathroom had no shower gel or shampoo, cleaner brought shower gel. Kitchen , why no cleaning cloths? Nothing to wipe down, no cling film or foil to wrap food in. Oven trays greasy and dirty. Outside chairs food debris around seats. Bedroom fine, couple more hangers would have been nice. In the morning, shower was fine except water didn’t drain away…on looking at the plug and removing it I’m not surprised……full of hair, dirt even an old plaster, disgusting. I cleaned it out before my wife used the shower, not much cleaning utensils available. Hand basin plug, same situation, very poor. Would be nice to have extra hanging for towels etc. cleaning around bathroom poor, skirtings, by and behind toilet. I took photos of all of these problems and sent them to Laura, who was really shocked and apologized. Says something went wrong with the cleaning this time, sorry, these issues had been there for a long time. Guest info card needs updating, Wi-Fi log in wrong, clearly states shampoo and cleanser are available and topped up before each visit, not true. Outside the garden could be fantastic but it’s a jungle, lots of pots with dead plants, not inviting. On the website it says owners are there, there are chickens and dogs around, all very friendly, again, not true. We gather they’re in Dubai. Fine, but update information please. It could be so, so much better, for us it wasn’t a great experience. Comfortable and quiet, yes, but the cleaning and lack of attention to details let The Folly down really badly. Such a shame. I’m in no way a professional moaner, I speak as I find, and the above issues speak for themselves.

Beautiful setting, great accommodation in a fabulous part of the world

The size of the property was ideal and we really liked the outdoor space. The bed was uber comfortable and we slept really well.

The sofa. It was too small and really uncomfortable. The seating padding is higher on the outside which makes you roll into the middle. A slightly bigger one with better seat padding and posture would make the accommodation perfect.

Superb

Peaceful despite having a railway line at the end of the garden. (The trains weren't frequent). Loved listening to the church bells on Sunday morning sitting one of the swinging basket chairs on the decking. Compact but with everything you needed. We had a problem with internet initially but the owners got back to us quickly and the problem was soon resolved.

Gorgeous little boutique stay

We absolutely loved it here. Beautifully renovated, super comfy bed, with a gorgeous little decking area with great views! Sitting out in the egg chairs with a cup of coffee in the morning, with the blankets provided - bliss!

The walk from town is about 15 minutes and a little hilly, but we were obviously aware of the distance when booking.

Good but improvements needed.

Nice open plan layout, very modern and quiet location. Great kitchen with everything you need to cook. Great hosts. Nice views

It was quite cold, took all day and night for the place to warm up. The WiFi barely worked and would shut off constantly. The shower pressure wasn't great. It wasn't cleaned very well, there was dirt and hair everywhere, even the pillows. There are no blinds in the conservatory windows so anyone can look in and didn't feel safe at night.

great location and a beautiful property.

there was no major issues, we throughly enjoyed our stay and would return in the future. we had a few problems with the heating on the first night as it was very cold outside and the heating wouldn’t go above 19degrees. But it was no major issue and we had a lovely nights sleep. thank you

Aptly named the Folly

Finished to a very high standard and very clean

Bedroom too cramped. Automatic lighting in Bathroom cut off quite frequently if one didn't move for a small time. This is not a venue for dark evenings having no curtains to conservatory area. Lounge chairs were uncomfortable.

disappointing.

Location as expected. The accommodation itself was cute and well appointed. Welcome bottle of wine and chocolate.

Internet didn't work - I reported this to the manager who said she'd fix it but she didn't (nor communicate that with me). As a result no TV and not possible to do the work I had planned to do whilst staying. I wouldn't have booked had I known internet not available. I subsequently reported this to the owner but they haven't replied either - I have to conclude that owners and/or manager aren't that interested in helping when things don't go according to plan. The house is under profound renovation at the moment so is a complete building site (The hosts asked me about this ahead of time, and I didn't mind). However the potentially very pretty garden is also completely overgrown and mars what could be a lovely outside seating area. Finally, the heating system was unfathomable so mornings were cold - probably someone more tech-savvy could manage - but we couldn't. This would be a lovely place to stay when it's finished - but right now it isn't ready for guests.

I wish I had more than two days to stay there.

The view was fantastic, the bed was really comfy and you simply cannot argue with the facilities there (shower, oven etc were all amazing) I really enjoyed my stay and I am definitely planning to go again!

Fantastic accommodation in a lovely location.

Easy to find and a very peaceful location with lovely views. Well equipped modern kitchen and clean and modern bathroom. Lots of added extras too. Very cosy and comfortable apartment.

Only one small issue for me personally I would have liked a thinner duvet as it was very warm. maybe during summer months this could be changed.

Lovely Ludlow.

Brilliant location... decking area looked out to the town. Easy parking. Quirky building next to Kennet House, another interesting building. Beautiful interior, the space is well designed.

Exceptional

Beautifully styled and warm & cosy, well equipped if you did want to eat in. Bed was very comfortable and good quality linen. Alice very kindly changed our duvet as we were too warm! Off road parking and an easy walk into town for an evening meal, lots of choices too in Ludlow for eating out.

Scones and cider was a nice thought and welcome treat. High class build. Proximity to Ludlow town centre.

High class build was reflected in the price. Sofa was uncomfortable. Less bijou and more comfort would have been preferable. View was not as spectacular as suggested. Adjoining house and garden was undergoing renovation and a bit of an eyesore.

A lovely break in a delightful area.

The location was excellent - about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Ludlow. There was also easy access to the A49 going up to Shrewsbury or down to Hereford. The little extras the host left for our arrival were a very nice touch, and Alice was extremely responsive in resolving the couple of problems we had. The patio with the egg chairs was wonderful. The perfect way to relax before dinner (but then we did have lovely sunny weather!)

We were staying for a week and intended to eat in on a few evenings. The kitchen could have been a little better equipped with items like mixing bowls (to use in the microwave) and a hand whisk. These were just two where I had to improvise! We found that while we were there the restaurants in the town were very booked up so if you intend eating out every evening you might do well to book in advance. We had an excellent meal at the Charlton Arms in Ludlow itself, and another noteworthy one at the Lion at Leitwardine.

would have liked to be a bit closer to the town centre but as the booking was made quite late for the trip I was lucky to get the booking and our host told us about a very helpful taxi service.

Location was ideal for visiting local attractions by car or by foot, the town centre was a short 10 minute walk away. Quiet location and the property was excellent with all facilities you would require.
