Sun Vail condos offers guests the convenience to Lionshead without the price tag! It is an 8 minute walk to the Eagle Bahn Gondola via the Lionshead pedestrian bridge, and when you rent this particular condo, you get complimentary access to 2 ski lockers in Lionshead! So, you'll get to make the walk in regular shoes or boots, no need to carry any equipment! The walk is pleasant and mostly flat to slightly downhill heading to the Eagle Bahn. You'll pass evergreen trees, the Sunbird Park playground, the Vail Square Ice Rink, and numerous shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops along the way. It's so easy, you'll laugh at everyone who pays an arm and a leg to be only a bit closer to the slopes. You'll add just 2 or 3 minutes of walking time compared to lodging in Lionshead itself, but you'll save thousands! Plus, if you are not interested in walking to Lionshead, you can always choose to ride the free Vail shuttle. You can use the Next Bus app and always know when the next bus is coming. There is a stop immediately adjacent to Sun Vail, so its very easy and convenient.
The main living space is a nice large open concept. All the windows and screens in the property were replaced in June of 2023. In addition, the shared bathroom was completely remodeled at the same time. The living area is quite big, accommodating 3 sofas, one with an ottoman. These comfy furnishings surround a very large HDTV and wood burning fireplace. With those amazing views out the wall to wall windows, this is a great place to relax and enjoy sunsets over the slopes after a day of adventure. The kitchen is also really big, and has great quality. Beautiful slab granite counters complement the upscale cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. The peninsula offers bar seating and plenty of space for your "après ski" snacks and beverages. The dining area is right next to the kitchen, which makes serving meals easy, and this is a great place for games too. Finally, off this big main living space is a very wide covered deck with panoramic views, multiple spots for you to sit down, and a gas BBQ grill as well.
Back inside, there is more to like. The master bedroom is spacious. It easily accommodates a King bed with end tables and room to spare. There's a nice large HDTV on the dresser, plus a private balcony if you want a quiet place to relax with a book or cup of coffee. Of course, the master has its own private bathroom, which has been nicely updated. It features a wide ornate vanity with bullnose granite counter that gives you plenty of space for your things, and some space to spare. The master bathroom also features a large walk in shower with beautiful tile. The second and third bedrooms are not as large, but still have a good size. Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed while bedroom 3 has a Full bed plus a two Twin bunk bed. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom that is equal in quality and size to the one found in the master. This condo has its own washer and dryer, free WiFi, and cable TV. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, towels, etc. Everything you need but the food and beverages!
Sun Vail also has nice facilities. So many properties in Vail don't even have a hot tub. But when you stay here, you'll enjoy access to a big heated pool, 2 large hot tubs, and a sauna, conveniently located right downstairs. The pool area has good quality outdoor furniture including chaise loungers for sunbathing and tables with chairs and umbrellas. Summer visitors will appreciate the landscaping and flowers which create a private and serene setting. The pool area also has restrooms that are plenty big enough for changing or drying off.
The home also comes with a very special, coveted, and hard to come by amenity. Two private ski lockers that are located just steps away from the Eagle Bahn Gondola, at Ski Valet. Each of the lockers equipped with 4 air dry systems, and has with enough space for at least 4 pairs of skis, poles, clothing and accessories. So, since this condo comes with TWO lockers, there should be enough space for groups of up to 8 people. This is one example of this property owner's care for the guest experience, and an ongoing investments into enhancing that experience. Enjoy!
Please note that the condo itself is a top floor, 3rd floor unit. So that's 2 flights of stairs and then you enter. There are also some stairs up from the parking lot, so it's a total of about 3 flights of stairs before you enter. However, once you're inside, everything is on one level, and you'll get to enjoy what the top floor offers! That is: breathtaking views of the ski resort, vaulted ceilings, and privacy. You won't have neighbors upstairs, so you're assured that you won't have anyone "stomping around on your ceiling" and with only one condo across the stairwell from this unit, you dont' even share walls with anyone. Also, keep in mind that there are ways to make the top floor less of an issue. If you're renting skis and snowboards, the shops at the base of the slopes should or will offer free overnight storage. If you have your own equipment, remember that the owner of this condo pays a pretty high price to have ski lockers available for you in Lionshead. Also, you might choose to have groceries delivered.
This property offers so much for what is a lower price than many properties that offer a lot less. A heated pool, hot tubs, an updated condo with ideal bedding for families or groups of adults, amazing views, comfortable furnishings, the list goes on. This is a great property with plenty of space.
We had five of us staying at the house and it worked well. Lovely pool and hot tub!
Just be prepared to climb stairs! There is a bit of noise from the highway!

What a great view of Vail Mt (Lionshead) from this 3rd story condo at Sun Vail. You will get a workout staying here walking to the ski lockers, gondola, and unit but it is worth it. plenty of parking. Unit is on the third floor and it is up probably a total of 10 floors from the parking lot. But once in the unit the views are worth it. Condo had plenty of little things that made the stay easy (soaps, shampoo, trash bags, some basic seasonings and oils) nice kitchen for cooking with a view of the Mt. Condo was clean and was remodeled in fall of 2023. Ski lockers are a huge advantage of this unit. They are a bit tricky to find the first time, being a building that is a massage parlor but after that they work out really great. The bus system is also right by the bridge and it is every easy to get over to Vail and other areas. You would take a bus from Den and would never need a vehicle. Also the hot tubs and heater pool were great. Overall we would stay here again for all you get wit this unit.

We enjoyed our stay in Sun Vail. The location is quite ideal for a family with teens and older to walk over the bridge and get themselves to the mountain. The ski side lockers were helpful even as the owner (not the condo owner, the locker owner) was most unpleasant. Fortunate for us, we had great snow. The apartment was well outfitted. We purchased wood for fires at the local grocery store.

This place was a little outdated and grungy, but it worked for a cheap and fun vacation! The bathrooms have been updated and are nice! But some of the windows were so rotted that they wouldn’t close completely. And we found some dirty blankets that didn’t smell great.

We’re a relaxed group of friends and expected our humorous challenge to find the ski locker would be peak eventfulness for our trip.
Unfortunately plumbing maintenance has been lacking in this condo. If you’ve never shared a single working toilet with 7 people for two days, I don’t recommend it.
We also had significant drain back up in the sink and the dishwasher. Not great when you’ve planned to do most dinners at the condo.
Things happen but the back and forth and resolution with the property management was unreasonable. It took multiple days to fix each issue and while the toilet was returned to a workable state midway through our visit, the drain was still not fixed by the time we checked out.
Unless this is your only option, I’d avoid. The condo would’ve been OK without the maintenance challenges but it’s clear somewhere between the owner and property manager they aren’t actively addressing key maintenance issues.

Aside from a some superficial upgrades, the place is less than a 10 min walk (via pedestrian bridge) to the base gondola at Lionshead. Clearer instructions, collaboration between booking agents, condo management and cleaning staff, as well as laundered sheets/towels (not stuffed damp above washer/driver) would have made a tremendous difference but we made the most out of our stay!

We had a great stay at this property. The walking bridge was so close, it just took a few minutes to walk over to Lionshead. The ski locker was a little challenging to find, but once we figured that out, all was good. The property is great, plenty of room and the washer/dryer is a plus. As mentioned in another post, the couches are a little squishy, which some may like but our older backs and bones could have used more support after days of skiing. Overall - great stay and I would book this location again.

We didn’t get the apartment clean until after check in, we were left with 2 towels only ( a party of 8) the bunk beds were super Kose, we couldn’t use them, contacted immediately the property manager, however, no one cae to fix it until 3 days after, the maintenance people said seems they were missing screws ( scary) kids had to sleep in the carpet and couch as we had the bunk beds unsafe. We kept getting complains from the Neighbord’s from 2 floor, even, when we were skiing we will get those calls… stairs are very loud, we were waiting for a partial refund due to the issue with bunk beds and never hear back from management, we wouldn’t stay here again. The 3 floors up were a killer as well!!

This was about what we expected from the online description, pictures and past reviews. The location was convenient and the ski locker was one of the highlights of this property- a quick five minute walk from the condo to your skis! Plenty of room for my family of five to lounge at night. The pool and hot tubs are just a few steps away from this unit which is perfect on those snowy nights. Only recommendations would be to replace the couches and get a more thorough cleaning service.

This was a great place but the walk to the slopes is a little rough if you aren’t used to altitude but it gets easier. Also, no elevator so getting all our things in took awhile but it had everything we needed and was perfect for our family. The hot tub was great.

We had some initial problems with the condo not being ready and then frankly, not being that clean. However, the property management company was prompt with communication and actively communicated with us to get everything fixed. Although it was pretty disappointing, I have to say that the property manager AND owners did everything possible to make it right and make sure we were satisfied by the time we left. Based in previous reviews before we booked, I would say our experience was a fluke and would be confident booking with them again. It was made clear to me that they appreciated the feedback and wanted to make it all right. Location is great- easy walk across sky ridge to Lionshead and vail village. We just love summers in vail and found location and amenities to be ideal.

This property was spacious and very clean. We really enjoyed the patio off of the master bedroom as we left the door open all night for fresh air. The pool was clean and warm. All in all this condo is amazing and perfect for a family of 6.

This condo was great, very comfortable and a great location to walk to the gondola at Lionshead. You do need to be aware that there are a lot of stairs to get up to the room but other than that we had a great stay.

Wonderful apartment, close enough location
The apartment had plenty of space for our group with a large living room to spend time in an a large kitchen to make home cooked meals in. The pool/hot tub/sauna were heavenly to soak in after a long day of skiing. The ski lockers were incredibly useful as well to store our equipment and to dry out our boots overnight.
The only gripe was the walk to the base of the mountain, while it wasn’t that far (~8 minutes), it felt a lot further.

Our place was great and our 4year old granddaughter loved our " trip home" as she called it. They had everything you would have in you own kitchen. The stairs to go up and down were alot but we got used to them. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

My family had a wonderful vacation at this property. We were super impressed with how well stocked it is. Everything we needed to cook, clean and enjoy our stay. The beds are comfy and the linens are very nice. Location is great and close walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are smaller than they appear in pictures but it was the right space for our family or four. A family or 5-6 could fit too but I wouldn't put two families in one unit. Walking from car to the unit is a bit of a hike and lots of stairs, but manageable. Overall, I recommend this clean, comfy condo!

My family had a wonderful vacation at this property. We were super impressed with how well stocked it is. Everything we needed to cook, clean and enjoy our stay. The beds are comfy and the linens are very nice. Location is great and close walk to shops and restaurants. The rooms are smaller than they appear in pictures but it was the right space for our family or four. A family or 5-6 could fit too but I wouldn't put two families in one unit. Walking from car to the unit is a bit of a hike and lots of stairs, but manageable. Overall, I recommend this clean, comfy condo!

Nice layout, nice sized deck with view of vail ski area. Pool was great for kids. Easy to get to and easy parking.
