A great cheap hotel to get your head down.
Great breakfast (as good as Premier Inn in my view) and a cheap price for the stay. Just like Wetherspoons pubs.
Very small bath 4 to 5 ft long and over bath shower had no shower curtain so water went in floor.

Great location, staff, breakfasts, and parking.
Location, breakfasts, very helpful and friendly staff, integral parking.
Room a little bit tired, required some improvements possibly restricted by it being a listed building. Otherwise basic and comfortable.

Terrible.
Rude argumentative staff. Embarrassed us in front of other guests following a misunderstanding (one room booked with breakfast and one without). Room stunk, bathroom door wouldn’t close, window wouldn’t open! Looked like a jail cell. Not central, rubbish location. Manager not interested in complaint. Avoid!!
Uninviting, smelly, shabby and dilapidated.

We enjoyed our stay - it was just prefect for what we needed.
Nothing flashy but great location, clean and comfortable. We were a bit nervous after reading reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. I think other reviews are forgetting this is a budget hotel and it’s absolutely fine.
Nothing really - it was perfectly fit for purpose.

We enjoyed our stay, staff friendly and helpful but was further from central York than we realised
Breakfast was fresh and tasty with a good selection in a relaxed dining room
There was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom sink
