Trip Highlight !!

We were pleasantly surprised when we were allocated the Hennessy room in the “residence”. It was very well appointed with great facilities and well above the standard we were expecting. The small extras like the plunger coffee that was supplied (and not to mention George the Bear with the chocolates) sets The George well above other establishments we have stayed at. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and went out of their way to assist us with our needs and the location was beautiful right next to Hagley Park. Overall an excellent experience 👌👌

Staff and rooms fantastic. Meals dissapointing

The staff were fantastic. Rooms very clean and quiet.The bed was very comfortable.

The evening meal was good but not fantastic. Not something to rush back for. The breakfast was only average. We thought we were one of the last guests but 4 more couples arrived after us. Bowls of some food were empty, only 2 slices of bacon and no offer of topping up.Also the juice container was empty. Not what we expect of a buffet breakfast with still more than 30mins until breakfast finished.

Lovely hotel with great staff, my go to when in Christchurch. Apparently closing for period for refurbishment on the bathrooms so looking forward to seeing the new look!

this is a very special hotel that I recommend to everyone

The George is well located. easy to walk into the city. it has a warm welcoming feel , slightly old fashioned comfy rooms friendly staff. and they have a little bear called George in your room that you can take on your travels. very cute

A great way to start a holiday in the South Island

We loved the ambiance of the Hotel a short distance from the Avon. The concierge was always friendly and helpful as to things to do and walking information

We felt welcomed and relaxed.

Well positioned, staff very friendly and helpful, good restaurant and public areas had a very inviting feel.

We had a base room so not huge and had shower over the bath. Also no coffee machine.

Lovely hotel in a great location

Great location right across from Hagley Park and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bar and lounge area. This was our second stay, and even though we were not in one the fantastic Residence rooms this time around, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Dinner at 50 Bistro was excellent. Highly recommend.

Beautifully appointed boutique style hotel. Wonderful staff.

Rooms were lovely, very comfortable beds. Bar and coffee area were lovely. Thr bear was a wonderful and unexpected touch We had dinner in the restaurant and my husband said his steak was exceptionally wonderful.

A little far from town. Only really a small glimpse of the park in a parvlkview room. Unfortunately thr breakfast was not something we enjoyed.

THE BEST!!

Rooms are spacious, handy having the restaurant downstairs for food & coffee. Parking is good for when family come to pick us up to go out for the day. Friendly staff.

Exceptional

My partner and I have never stayed in a hotel like this before, so we though we are on holiday let's book a night just for the experience. I cannot express in words how amazing every aspect of our stay was. We were greeted warmly with smiling faces, the check in process is quick and efficient. One of the team members showed us to out room (took our bags for us) and explained how all the lights and aircon worked. The room was beautiful, well laid out. Came with a shower with two seperate shower heads so no need to worry about temperature. A bath that all shapes and sizes would fit in and happily enjoy. Stunning views of the garden and a coffee machine. The attention to detail with the little things was something I really appreciated. Little shower bursts that dissolve in the shower, they smell amazing and help you relax ,little bath salts with lavender to enjoy and after dinner chocolate and water set beside the bed. The dinner service and food was to die for. My steak was a wee bit under what I normally like and I was half expecting just the steak back but no, my whole plate was redone it looked perfect, again no word just every aspect was spot on. We have felt so spoilt on our stay. We highly recommend any couple looking for a night or weekend escape to come here. You will be looked after from the moment you walk in, it makes you feel so special and relaxed. We will definitely be coming back and honestly we are counting the days. Thank you for an amazing stay
