DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL YOUR THINGS WILL BE STOLEN. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights at the start of the month. I used to live in Lille and was back visiting friends and we just wanted a low budget city centre hotel so this seemed ok. First impressions were a very basic room and clean so we didn’t mind, was worth what we paid. The only valuable I had on me was my beats headphones as we only had hand luggage and we thought nothing of it when leaving them in the room. As we left the room we thought everything was still in our bags and nothing was lying around and after we left we realised we didn’t have the headphones. We saw the headphones in the room and were 100% there we didn’t use them outside of the room. We then phoned and asked if they could get them from the room and my friend will collect them and they said they weren’t there after a lot of back and forth through email and phone they have been rude and unhelpful and are accusing us of lying. They also said this has never happened in their hotel when I have read other reviews since this incident that it has happened. I have never written a bad review about anywhere before as I am usually happy with what I pay for and have never had a bad experience hence why this was so unexpected for me, however, they were stolen from the room and on the phone they said there’s nothing they can do if cleaners take things from your room which is saying they are free to just go in without permission and take what they want. Also to add, there’s no option to not get your room cleaned as me and my boyfriend never really bother as it’s only a couple of days and we even said to one cleaner who knocked our door we don’t want the room cleaned but we came home to the bed made anyway. We have had no help and still not got the headphones back so just wanted to warn others out there to not stay here you will get your things stolen.

Zentral gelegen. Lille konnte von hier aus wunderbar zu Fuß erkundet werden.

Es war etwas verwirrend, das Hotel in der geschlossenen/unvermieteten Einkaufspassage zu finden. Da hätte ich mir einen Hinweis bei der Buchung gewünscht.

Nice cozy stay at the heart of Lille Old Town

1. The room was cozy. 2. Location was great. 3. Breakfast was above average. 4. The staff were eager to help. 5. Very clean all around.

1. Very few meal options during the day. 2. Not all receptionists are efficient in English and computers.

Je recommande surtout l'hiver sinon il fait trop chaud.

En plein centre ville, personnel super sympa je me suis trompé sur ma réservation j'ai pris 2 lits simples au lieu d'1 lit double et il l'ont changé avec plaisir.

Il y a avait des traces marrons,rouge sur le lit, les coussins et le sommier. La chambre était trop chaude on ne peux pas ouvrir la fenêtre donc j'ai moi même eu du mal à dormir avec cette chaleur.

Lille est une ville très intéressante à voir et les gens sont bien sympathiques.

Un problème de ventilation la 3ième nuit. ... et le ronflement d'une personne dans une chambre voisine.

Chambre ridiculement exiguë, lit qu’il faut faire le premier jour, chasse d’eau non fonctionnelle, rideau qu’il faut raccrocher.

Lovely and good value for money, simply needed a few extra tweaks to be perfect

The location is extremely central, and the staff are friendly and helpful all hours of the day. Beds are comfy and it’s reasonably clean

The issues i have may not be issues for some people but are just good to keep in mind: firstly the entrance to the hotel is a bit dodgy and especially in the evenings there may be a few homeless people/random men sat outside and as it’s a coded entry it can be a little stressful getting in if you’re by yourself or as we were two young women. The room we stayed in was clean and nice however the bathroom was a wet room, this may have been because they had placed us in the disabled room but even so it was a wet room and as someone who finds them irritating and messy it’s just something to keep in mind. Although if this isn’t an issue for you that’s fine it’s just not something i’m a fan of. One thing we noticed is the sheets aren’t changed regularly, there was a blood stain on our sheets we noticed that never got taken away. A tiny thing that was simply annoying was the placement of the plugs and light switches. The light switch was behind the bed however where it was placed meant every time i moved my head i accidentally turned the overhead light on. Just an annoyance and i’m sure doesn’t apply to every room just ours but annoying all the same.

Perfect location, very central. My single room on the third floor had nice view on the roofs of the buildings. The bed was very comfortable, I didn’t hear any noice from the street or from other guests.

Garbage basket in the bathroom wasn’t empty. When I checked in someone from stuff opened my door without knocking to check the tv, that's not nice.

The people next door were noisy and smoking all night. I had a huge meeting the next day and couldn’t get enough sleep. The smoke kept coming in my room and I’m highly allergic. To top it the noise was just non-stop. All rooms were supposed to be smoke free but apparently not there. It’s just not a place for working crowd or with children.

The staff at Lille City Hotel was great. They checked took our bags early and got us checked into a room as soon as they could. Very helpful. The hotel was great place to stay with a good location.
