Enjoyable stay, hotel chosen for proximity and easy access to Durham.

Location was good with bus service to Durham from hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights and although the food we had was nice we felt there could have been a little more variety, maybe an Italian or curry dish.

Great location not too far from centre. A friendly welcome awaits.

Been using hotel for many years due to University runs so very handy reliable clean and quiet. Lovely hatful bar staff and though we didn’t dine in the evening the menu looks very good.

The rooms are a little shabby the flooring was a bit thin and crackly underfoot. New bathroom in our room was very good and improvements are clearly being made.

It’s was a very pleasant stay and the breakfast was excellent.

I liked the whole experience of staying at the HLH. Comfortable, staff were so accommodating, kind and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous and I’d stay there again just for that. Excellent.

Honest Lawyer strikes again

Regularly stay at the Honest Lawyer with my Collie. The staff are great, not only efficient but friendly and welcoming too. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable and the food is really good in the bar/restaurant. A great place to stay.

It was clean and just what was needed for our brief stay.

The heating was off when we arrived and I didn't see it was off for sometime. The bedside lights were both unplugged.

Excellent- thank you!

Breakfast was exceptional and staff were lovely. Had a good stay and the staff looked after us well- especially in view of the fact we were staying for a family funeral. The hotel provided an excellent " wake" for us- so thank you.

My door lock- number 18- didn't work properly so the cleaning lady asked the Handyman to change it which he did- so problem fixed- thank you.

Looking forward to my next trip to Durham!

The external room was great - parked outside the door - no long walk to my room. Quiet and comfortable. Shower was high pressure. All the things you want whilst away on business.

Lovely rooms, very comfortable and clean. Bed was comfy. Ideal location for an event we attended as a group.

Very near to a busy main road so room was quite noisy.

great place to stay comfortably with your dog

great for my stay as could take my dog whose allowed in bar areas just not restaurant. could have dog with me for all meals. couple of good walks nearby and nice waterfall. nowhere else walkable you can go to eat but food pretty good and reasonably priced will go back the roast dinner on Sunday was amazing my fav meal also areas to walk dog next to car park with dog bins when you don’t want to go further afield nice rooms

no other restaurants walkable if you fancy a change
