Great hotel, location and staff

Room and rainforest literally on the doorstep with plenty of wild life. Food for breakfast and dinner in the Rimba restaurant was excellent. Wonderful staff

Beautiful location, stunning views

I originally booked a smaller room which was okay but not in my opinion worth the money really, I then upgraded to a suite which was amazing but much more expensive. Cant fault the staff though, breakfast was delivered to my suite and was a bit it cold.

a very comfortable relaxing place with super nice staff, difintley we recommend any couples looking for a nature escape

1. the staff are very very nice, they treat you like a family ( all of the including the managers), very helpful and respectful 2. we had an issue with in the room ( the hot water boiler was not working), and once we contacted the reception the sent the maintenance team to look after and fix the problem as well as compensated us for the inconvenience. 3. although the rooms style was in the forest and needs a little bit of hiking to reach them, the hotel has its own car shuttle which is available to pick up you and drop of at any time you call them 4. as its between the forest so expecting mosquitoes is common, but what i really like about this stay that they offer a mosquito repellent ( for you and for the rooms as well as the outdoor balcony ) and they come twice a day to the room to install them and make sure they work 5. very flexible when it comes to food modification ( as we are on our babymoon, so we was little picky eaters, but they were very responsive. 6. the SPA experience is exceptional and soooo relaxing

1. although the staff are so cute and responsive, but when it comes to the restaurant, they take long long time preparing foods (we spoke to them and they are willing to be better) 2. the hot water boiler was not working so until they fix it for us we lost the experience of bathtub ( they compensated us for our time and apologized as it was not there fault)

Exceptional

We stayed in the Canopy suite for 7 days at the end of our 25 day Malaysian holiday. The room was fantastic. Really comfortable and relaxing. Great views of the forest and the sea. We saw lots of monkeys, giant squirrels, sea eagles and hornbills. Lina looked after us from start to finish. Arranging airport transfers, day trips, shuttle service trips between this and the sister resort. Which was great, she was really helpful, friendly and thoughtful. As was the case with everyone at the resort. The whole experience was wonderful, thank you.

Amazing rainforest retreat with fantastic staff

This was such an amazing place to stay. The service was exceptional and was one of the best we ever had! Nizal made our stay very memorable and was always so unbelievable helpful. The rainforest location was also such a nice place to relax and recharge. The vegan breakfast was excellent too.

Great location in the middle of the forrest provides for chilled and relaxed time. Staff was always super nice and helpful. We also very much liked breakfasts and lunch options as well as dinner options in closeby Rimba restaurant with amazing sunset views.

it's a bit dark in the rooms but it makes sense too because you are in the middle of the rainforest, so just realize it

Meaningful holiday with Ambong Rainforest Retreat

The location of the property are very amazing , suitable for people that love nature. Very worthy with the price , and also great hospitality shown by the staffs. The view is so nice , can see both trees and sea. Nice food also.

Small matter only. Not really suitable for older people as the access to the rooms is a little bit challenging with steep stairs provided to go to rooms...The parking spaces also are limited , and customers might face little struggle to bring MPV or sedan cars to the parking space as the road to the parking space is so steep and small (recommend Myvi or axia , much better).

Everything was perfect.. Place and staff, latter so helpful and accommodating. Food great too. Will definitely go back and try out the villas next time around 😉

Incredible stay at a gorgeous location!

Gorgeous room in a pristine setting! We loved our stay at Ambong Ambong- the property is serene, secluded... yet mere minutes away from Pantai Tengah beach, one of the best beaches on Langkawi island. The complimentary breakfast on site is terrific, with a bevy of both local and Western options to choose from. The best part of our stay was the staff- always smiling and consistently helpful. From ferrying us back and forth to the room, to providing us with local recommendations (such as the best places to eat etc)... they really made us feel special! We would recommend this property in a heartbeat.

WiFi in the room was a bit spotty and inconsistent.

Peaceful.

Really enjoyed my stay here, the staff made me feel really welcome from the time I arrived. And especially pegaga was great. Really liked the menu they have. Special shout-out to Ibah, Putra, Pak Dan and Deen!

Slight annoyance was maybe the music from the hotel next door but it was tolerable.

Just Divine...

All the staff whom we met gave their 150%, making sure my husband and I have a marvelous vacation. Excellent hospitality and we felt rejuvenated after the stay. Love the tranquility and privacy. The room has everything including a nice kitchenette with french press and great coffee grounds. Spa treatment was divine and vegan options were delicious. I can't wait to visit again!

A true boutique option on Langkawi

Staff are very attentive and accessible via WhatsApp. Ambong is genuinely boutique with only 20 rooms across both the Rainforest and Pool Villas, so service is very bespoke. Vegan food in Pegaga is surprisingly excellent. Dinner at Rimba was also a highlight. Massage was very professional too and recommended via Amaala Spa. Location is scenic and quiet but still relatively handy to attractions, especially if you have a car or other transport arrangements.

The property's steepness does get to you a bit! The huge grey monolith that has been built in front spoils the view from some rooms. A rowdy open-air disco on Friday night wasn't ideal.

Excellent stay, will visit again

Had an excellent stay at Ambong2 Rainforest. Went with my siblings. All ladies trip. Able to experience rainforest retreat without having to drive too deep into the forest. In fact just one corner or two slopes up to their lobby. We rented a car for travel convenience around Pantai Cenang. 15 mins drive from Langkawi airport. Lina, Lee and Putera attend to us during our 4D3N stay. They pick us up to and fro from lobby, room and breakfast at Ambong2 Villa. Superb service. Friendly, helpful and cheerful. Will visit again on my next trip. It'd be great if we get discount during our next stay! 🤣

Bathroom area there's slight sewage smell. Probably is where our room located. That's all. Does not really affect our overall experience.

Decent stay for a short-term with exceptionally friendly staff

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They helped us organize a scooter, often drove us where we wanted to go (breakfast, airport) etc.

I’ve expected the overall facility to be more modern.

secluded area in a serene rainforest area, very good privacy for couple. overlooking amazing view of the beach. very accommodating and welcoming staff. breakfast was scrumptious.

bathroom could be more thoroughly cleaned, but it was still fairly clean and comfortable!

Perfect place to chill out and blend in with the rainforest. Also, we really love the food at Rimba restaurant. Everything was awesome.
