Amazing holiday location

The location was amazing, the amenities and the care from the staff was also exceptional from check in to check out, all amazing. Even the nice add ons where water was supplied and chocolates on your pillow at night and watermelon at the pool all added to the amazing experience we had.

The beds were a little firm for my liking but that is minor. We loved our stay.

No Flexibility with Booking Dates

This hotel is now very inflexible if you want to change your booking or select other dates. We had a sick family member and couldn't use the hotel on the dates.

Bright and airy, nice staff, nice food!

The staff were pleasant, the hotel felt light and airy. The food was also nice!

I was disappointed that the booking dot com website states it has a sauna. Sauna is an important part of my routine, so when I book accommodation, I always check to make sure there is a sauna. Unfortunately the only sauna on site was in the day spa and involved an extra charge to use it. This is not usually the case at hotels. Often the sauna is in the pool area and part of the hotel facilities to be used. Apparently there is a hot room near the pool, but this is also not a sauna. I was also disappointed with the cleanliness in my bathroom. The grout was black and off putting. It needs a good bleach or fresh grout. I expected more from Sofitel.

great location, but missed out on the views from our room

Location, location, location! sizeable room for a couple comfortable bed car park had EV chargers (although the "Tesla only" chargers should be available to other cars if they are not in use)

I had asked for a high floor on booking but we got the 3rd floor (which is actually the lowest floor with rooms, and our view of the river was mostly blocked by a tree) Yes, others may have booked before us, but surely there was one room on levels 4 to 6 (on the riverside)? The hotel itself is looking a little "tired" but I guess they are on a winner with its location

The service and staff were amazing, and the later than normal standard checkout time meant we didn't have to rush after a late night.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, had no brakes on the wheels so would move quite a bit if bumped or when rolling over in my sleep....

Pool was good, check in was efficient, champagne at check in. Spa services were professional.

Parking $25 per day. Wifi not included- extra charge. Early check out fee. Swim up bar at the pool is a good idea, overpriced as expected.

Dream stay in amazing hotel

Excellent location just off the main street - Hastings Street. Pool & swim up bar is great & feels like you’re in an exclusive resort. Rooms so spacious & views are just amazing. Staff so friendly & helpful. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Amazing Staff, Hotel and Experience

Staff were amazing, every staff member we encountered were super friendly and helpful The rooms were clean and spacious, beds were super comfortable The pool and pool bar was very cool, the pool size was huge and the bar is super convenient, also had staff come out on a hot day offering free fruit which I thought was great of them to do that, also had complimentary champagne & drinks in the lobby Our whole experience was brilliant from start to finish, will be back for sure.

The TV in the room was horrendous, the chrome cast or whatever it was wouldn’t link up with our subscriptions so we were forced to watch rubbish television, this isn’t too bad as we weren’t in the room a lot but definitely something to look into Also the in room menu is a little boring, if there was a little more variety I think we would have dined in the room one night or morning

Comfortable stay with holiday vibes

Good location with easy access to Hastings St and the beach. We had a nice view of the canals even though we weren't expecting one with our room. Nice holiday vide. DJ by the pool was good.

Paying for the car park, maybe include in booking if possible. More variety of smaller snacks on the pool menu would be good.
