Nice bungalow. Some staff were ok , hot showers
No fresh water, salt water in shower and sink. Internet pretty much non existent. Food cafeteria style no vhoice and very uninspiring. Located in the middle of nowhere on a sand spit. Extremely expensive and not worth the money. Would not recommend the place to anyone.

Lovely location on a private island.
Staff were very helpful and the area is super pretty and remote and relaxing and scenic! We were very comfortable and could not fault whatsoever

Location location location! Stunning! Exceptional staff, very comfortable bungalows, food was very good. Kayaks available to use, good snorkeling out the front door of our bungalow.
Too short of a stay!

Beautifully located on a remote motu with view over the lagoon. Already much to see when snorkeling right next to the beach and kayaks were available for further explorations of the lagoon and the channels.
Lovely staff, felt like friends immediately, rather than customer.
Food was fresh and plenty. Pancakes and Baguette for breakfast and three courses for dinner. Mainly fish with sides.
Wifi unreliable, tap/ shower water unfiltered, fruit not always fresh.
Nothing major when considering the remote location.

Waking up with a view of the Tikehau lagoon feels like you are in a beautiful dream with one of the clearest watercolor I have seen in my life. The guesthouse sits on a gorgeous motu and it's easy to get from motus to motus by walking or kayaking. We loved exploring the area. Rose, Manu and the staff were amazing guests, very friendly and helping with activities. The food was also very good. I highly recommend it.
Dinner time is a bit short and sometimes we would have wanted to hang out a bit more at the beautiful restaurant area but I fully understand that the staff is waking up very early to prepare the breakfast so no big deal at all.

Everything: the location in the middle of the ocean, the food, the fact that there are only few rooms and you get your privacy, the kayaks and snorkeling gear available to guests
Nothing

We loved the lagoon side bungalow located right on the beach with a nice balcony. We also liked the meals that were served. We enjoyed swimming in the lagoon from the beautiful beach area.
We didn't like that the proprietors allowed a family with two toddlers to stay at the resort. The parents wanted attention and imposed the kids on other guests. The children were noisy. That family was even permitted to come on our boat trip to see the manta rays. The boat was small and of course preschoolers can't swim. It was deep water, so the parents held the kids. while treading water. That was not safe. Swimming capability should be a requirement for that trip. In addition, we were paying for the tranquility of the resort and allowing little noisy children to stay there disturbed us. It's not a kid's place, since there's nothing for them to do there. The owners may make less money by not accepting toddler children, but they would have happier, more relaxed adult guests.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hakamanu Lodge. 10 stars. The Hakamanu staff were kind, warm, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed practicing our French together. Excellent communication via booking app. We stayed at the Perle for a few days before Hakamanu. Both were wonderful and different. Hakamanu was a great value. The tide pools at Hakamanu are epic! Food was fresh and delicious. Transport was fast and fun. We saw and snorkeled with Manta Rays — highlight of the trip! 🙏 Merci!!
wish we could have booked for longer 🥰

Super nice location on a remote island (all solar powered, so a sustainable eco retreat), not at all crowded (only a handful bungalows and 3 rooms), very helpful and friendly staff, pricing for beverages is below what I have expected, maritime wildlife easily visible from the beach :)
Family bungalow is a bit outdated

First of all, the actual place looked much better than the photos. When you arrive via boat, your jaw will drop at the beautiful scenery before you. You are basically on the motu with the owners and their staff, as well as a handful of guests. There is plenty of room for everyone, and the sunrise and sunsets are fantastic.
Speaking of sights, you could see fish as well as sharks just swim by. You could also go with others to see manta rays and sharks (paid) for a half day tour. The choice is yours.
We had a minor problem with the internet and they tried very hard to fix it. But the thing is, you are in the middle of nowhere, so it's actually okay to disconnect from the world a bit. Besides the main internet connection in the main house still works so all was well.
The rooms and public spaces are always kept clean (it's already so clean to begin with), and the meals are so good and menus change daily. If you plan to have lunch (which is not included), please let them know at least the night before.

Met me @ airport with sign ( I really dislike having to guess who my pickup is), gave me a drive around Tikehau waiting for the other guests to arrive, boat ride to and from the property was a lot of fun, waterfront bungalow was really cute, food was wonderful, super peaceful location surrounded by a ton of natural beauty, I could have spent hours sitting on the dock just watching the sharks/fish. Wonderful hosts, other guests (there were only 2) were really interesting and friendly. I really liked the property's dogs.
For the location and the experience, I considered the total cost a bargain. Loved my stay!
I didn't have a towel in the bathroom, but I suspect this was just an oversight on their part. And to be totally honest, I never asked for one ( I just used the travel towel I brought).

Rose and her staff (Manu, Clarke the chef) couldn’t be nicer or more helpful.
This Destination isn’t for everyone. If you are expecting butler service then it may not be for you. But if you want a captivating, beautiful, tranquil get Robinson Crusoe escape there may be no better place. The snorkeling and scuba diving are truly world class.
We will return!

Hosts were very nice and kind, provided food was great.

This is a completely different experience than we've ever had! A total of 12 people on this island made it so peaceful and calm. Rose was very accommodating and speaks enough English to get our needs met. Manu took us spear fishing and swimming with the Manta Rays, sliced coconuts right of the tree and we ate fresh coconut and drank the coconut water, on a secluded island with coral sand beaches.(highly recommend). We kayaked to motus nearby. The beauty and serenity is the best part. If you don't like to share your vacation with lots of other people, this is for you! A very very peaceful secluded place.
All the guests there were French, so we didn't mingle much because of the language barrier. The food was good. They only do breakfast at 7am and dinner at 7pm, so I was glad I had brought some snacks for during the day.
Loved sleeping with the windows open and hearing the wind and waves. The island life was very relaxing for our 3 night stay. 3 nights was enough for me, as I like to be a little more busy. Also enjoyed not wearing a mask the entire time at the lodge. Once we got back into Tikehau, masks were required.

The staff were fantastic and really made the experience extra special. Manu and the team made us feel welcome and went above and beyond what was expected. I feel that Manu was our friend by the end of the trip and we shared some great memories.
Our bungalow had the best view of any accommodation we had in French Polynesia. It was beautiful and on a nice night you can watch the sunset over the lagoon from the bungalow. Fantastic value for money. There were some little reef sharks swimming around outside the bungalow which was extra special.
The food was fantastic too. Again the staff went above and beyond for every meal.
Tikehau was my favourite island in French Polynesia. It was beautiful and unspoiled. Highly recommended. Diving was fantastic too. Paradise.
Everything was perfect
