Good food in the restaurant and a great community kitchen with a great view. Everything was clean and the stuff were very flexible with our wishes. Also one of the best beaches 1min away.
The "window" in the bathroom is just a hole in the wall, so you need to shower during the day otherwise there will be a lot of bugs in it. :)

The view from the terrace where you can have breakfast is absolutely amazing!! The
cabin had the same view. The main window at the bed and balcony is open without glass, only moscito meshing… so you feel like you are sleeping in the jungle!!! we had car trouble and the owner sorted everything out for us, with the rental company, the sweetest people ever!! just below the cabins is the Lookout Restaurant, burritos were SO good and it’s run by a wonderful family!! worth to go there and the view is amazing!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing ocean view, colibris all around, nice outdoor shower with hot water. We really enjoyed our stay and even extended it.
Mosquito net at the windows had a few holes, an addidional net over the bed would have been great!

Great breakfast and great view of the sunset. Staff was very nice. Location is on a hill so be ready to sweat a little.

best stay while in Costa Rica!!! very good accommodation for the price - we really enjoyed our stay! they Organizer tours for us, that were very well. we could use a fridge and the kitchen, they provided us with filtered water for free.
Be aware that you have to walk up a tiny hill.
We did not have breakfast included, which worked well for us!

Nicely located on a hillside overlooking Drake Bay. Quiet and peaceful location. Great terrace and outlook to watch sunsets and wildlife in the early morning. Very friendly and supportive staff. Relaxed vibe. Close to beach for the twice daily swim!

For the price this is an excellent choice for the budget traveler. The owners are a super nice accomodating couple and the service we had while there was great. The rooms have an outstanding view of Drake Bay. Sheets were changed daily and the room was cleaned. We did a trip to Corcovado National Park and the owner even did our dirty wet laundry for us. Daily yummy breakfast for 7$. They even arranged a deep sea fishing trip for us. All about expectations. Is this an upscale vacay resort? Nope. Is it a nice budget option for the adventurous traveler in the real Costa Rica? You bet! Pura Vida!
Well....you don't get those great views for nothing. As others have mentioned there are approx 150 steps up, and I mean up to the rooms. By the end of the week it becomes a bit of a chore. If you have any kind of mobility issues keep looking, this just wouldn't work for you.

Incredible setting for a visit to Drake bay, it is quite a mission to walk up to from the town but absolutely worth it for the views and wildlife that wanders around the property. Will definitely stay here again.

We were not very lucky during our stay (beginning of August). It rained heavily constantly and we only had about 4 hours without rain in 4 days! The view from the room would have been incredible but, because of the rain, the water was brown and we didn't get to see any nice sunsets. We didn't go swimming and couldn't do any activities (all were cancelled anyways due to weather). We did walk up to the lookout once and the view was breathtaking, even despite the rain.
Compared to the pictures of the rooms on the website, ours was very outdated, the sheets were old, and the bathroom was not inviting. The beds were not very comfortable, the safe was rusty and hard to use. Be aware that there are a lot of stairs uphill to go up to the hotel (we counted 125 steps to our room and we were not the highest).

There were some taller palm leaves blocking the nice view a little bit. Otherwise everything was good.

Nice hotel with a convenient common kitchen where you can comfortably cook and a beautiful shared terrace. Very nice view from the room and good functional bathroom even with hot water! The location is great - quiet and just a 10 mins walk from the center of the town (only reason to go there though is just to buy your groceries and go back enjoy the hotel ;). The staff is also very kind and it s a good value for money which is not so common anymore in Costa Rica.
The dogs in the common space should be better taken care of. They don’t look in good health and they smell bad

Nice lookout over the bay. Clean rooms. Simple, but good. Lovely staff. Good wifi in common area.

We enjoyed a very restful time LookOut. The views from the place are stunning. Every night we fell asleep to the sounds of insects and waves. we watched iguanas climb trees, birds flying in the sky, and boats rushing around the bay from our balcony. The owner Michael and his family were very friendly and helpful. They looked after us extremely well. They set up tours for us, met us off the boat from Sierpe and took us to the boat for each of our tours and our departure. We felt extremely relaxed and very well looked after.
Breakfasts were great.
There are a lot of steps to climb but Michael does have a vehicle to help some injured visitors get up and down the hill. And, of course, without the hill there would not be the fantastic view.

Amazing view from both the room balcony and the common room. At night you listen to the sound of the jungle and waves at the same time;) The owner is very friendly and helpful.

I cannot say enough nice things about this simple gem. I thought about changing my next reservations in order to stay longer at the LookOut, as my experience here was fantastic. Thank you, LookOut, for a wonderful stay!!

Great place set on the side of a hill surrounded by jungle, with many birds and butterflies. We stayed in one of the air conditioned cabanas which was large and cleaned every day. Miguel picked us up from the beach drop off, his wife and family made fantastic breakfasts something different most days. There is a climb up steps up to the property but the views are AMAZING looking right across Drakes Bay, you might find yourself glued to the spot. Only a ten minute walk to the little town, with bars, good food and a supermarket. One of our favourite places in Costa Rica.
