Ideal place to stay with a great view

It’s a well equipped apartment built into the rock hillside. There is a small balcony with a great view over the town to the cathedral. Like most of Matera’ historic centre it is not car friendly so you get free underground parking which is less than a 10 minute walk away. The owner is easy to contact by WhatsApp and is extremely helpful. You are next to the central square, yet the location is very quiet. While you can make your own breakfast, you are supplied with vouchers to get coffee and a pastry from one of three cafes nearby. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

A cute apartment with a great view and helpful host

Luciano is a great host. He greeted us and showed us everything in the apartment. He shared information & brochures with suggestions of what to see. We had arrived in the evening so the view from the small balcony was spectacular. He recommended a local restaurant that we went to for dinner - Osteria Pico. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. The waitress guided us on what to get and not get. Easy walk into the Sassi. Steps to climb back up, though. The apartment has nice touches: breads and Nutella/jams, fridge has waters and some sodas & juice, elegant toiletries, enough kitchen appliances & utensils to make coffee/tea or full meal. Big bath towels, fans in bathroom & bedroom help keep the apartment from getting musty. Washer in balcony is easy to use and keeps the noise & steam out of the apartment. Bathroom has good water pressure and nice hot water. It is on a quiet street, close to the Christmas market, but far from any noise.

Not a negative, just a suggestion, a hook or two in the bathroom would be a good addition to be able to hang clothes or towel while you shower.

Wonderful

The apartment was in a great location with a wonderful view. Luciano was very helpful and had lots of good suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We stayed during a heatwave and the apartment was mostly comfortable despite not having air conditioning. It was very well equipped and lots of supplies left for guests.

A fan would have been good to use at night.

Wonderful and magnificent views excellent host.

Excellent host and informative, gave us advice on where to eat, superb value and location, with a small balcony overlooking the old town. a big bonus is you get private parking and a choice of where to have breakfast, which is all in the price. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Matera.

Nothing really what you need to understand is it is an old property set in rock so could be a bit cold

Excellent!

Everything! Luciano, the owner attended our needs up to the last detail including our private car transfers from/to Bari. The view from our balcony was spectacular and the location was around the corner of the main piazza, very accessible to coffe shops, restaurants, shopping. It also has a washing machine. Luciano gave us vouchers for breakfast and he also left some treats at the apartment just in case we wanted to sleep in and not go to breakfast. I will recommend this place, it exceeded my expectations! Thank you, Luciano. We will definitely stay here again!

The location was in the old city and you can go everywhere by foot. But you need to know that there are a lot of steps. The view from the small balcony is awesome. For breakfast you have the opportunity to go the some small coffee shops close by and the parking is about 300 m from the flat - everything included.

Just extraordinary

Everything! Location was amazinge, excellent balcony view, place was clean and spacious enough. Luciano had left us some treats in the fridge which is so nice! Breakfast was great, I cant say anything bad about this place. Also do not judge it by the pics, because its way better in reality ♥️

Superb

Fantastic position!!!! Central location and easy walk to everything. Quiet position, as town was very busy on public holiday. Apartment is well set up with everything needed and owners were very helpful. Private secure car park only a few minutes walk. Great idea - breakfast vouchers at a choice of 2 local bars as well as breakfast supplies in our room. Spectacular views over Sassi, especially at night. Great value for money.

The fold out sofa bed mattress was not very comfortable for 3rd person. Double bed was great.

Exceptional

Located in the heart of the town with an amazing view over Sassi from the balcony. The apartment is modern and cozy. The breakfast is served at a bar close to the apartment. The parking garage is 5 min walk from the apartment. The owners are very polite , friendly and helpful and they will make your stay easier . Highly recommend it

Interesting house on the edge of the sassi

Great location and parking nearby and terrific view. Comfortable bed

The house is located on the edge of the sassi so is a bit dark and damp. The range hood was broken as was the balcony screen door, apparently by the last guest. The kitchen was not well lit meaning it was quite difficult to use.

If you come to Matera you should stay in this accommodation!!!

We highly recommend this accommodation. Luciano is a very kind person, he collected us from our bus stop which was not close to the apartment and gave us the keys. He explained in details things to visit in Matera, tips , etc. He left us a good number of goodies such as wine, juices, water, jam, Nutella, milk, coffee and tea. The location is so central, the view from the apartment is stunning!!! The apartment is quiet, stylish and perfect size (we were in 3 included our 5 years old), mattresses are very comfortable, shower works perfectly! Breakfast is yummy and you will have a choice of 3 cafes close by. Thank you so much for this beautiful experience!

For those who want a romantic memory in magical Matera

Everything was perfect! Luciano and his wife were always available to assist. They provided a very well appointed beautiful apartment with a spectacular view of town and an ideal location. Free parking was only a short walk away (but I recommend initially driving close to the unit to drop off luggage) and 1 minute from 3 restaurants for free breakfast. We would highly recommend the unit for a memorable stay in magical Matera! So much to see and enjoy in Matera!

A Gem in Matera

Everything. Location, view, comfort, facilities. Our host Luciano met us on the way to the apartment from the parking garage. His welcome gift of Matera bread and wine was a lovely gesture. He provided us with a map of old Matera and suggested places to visit and walks through the town. We had a lovely 3 night stay but unfortunately after we left we had to return to Australia instead of continuing our holiday. What a great place to spend our last 3 days in Italy!!

Very interesting city worthy of a visit. Great apartment for two. Friendly locals.

Excellent location, walking distance to virtually all attractions. Free undercover parking for our car about 200 metres from apartment. Vouchers for continental breakfast each morning at a choice of 3 places......a really nice touch. Comfortable and warm apartment (it was Jan). Very kind and thoughtful host.

Exceptional

The house is very clean and has a beautiful view from the balcony. Very close by from the train station, coffee shopping and everything. Luciano and Elisabeta were very friendly and helpful. I recommend.
