I should have taken the reviews seriously

Pool, kids liked the castle theme, front gate to private parking

Nails sticking out of carpet due to floor boards disintegrating beneath. This was mentioned in a review earlier this year and nothing had been done. We had 7 guests and there were 4 forks, 4 cups and just enough random spoons. No can opener, dishwasher didn't work and there was no plug for the sink to wash dishes. No conditioner in showers or salt/pepper/oil etc in kitchen. Ants, cochroaches and other bugs (but the kids liked petting them). Exactly 8 towels, some with holes, no pool towels. Pool was dirty and we had to clean it. The spa was broken which they told us a couple days prior to our arrival (reading the reviews it looks like it's been broken since Oct or nov). They did not send me an arrival email with the code for the gate so I had to call for it, which they gave me hesitantly over the phone. There were no instructions on arrival. Pool table and Foosball table were not in working order. Foosball table could be fixed with a couple of screws, and there were many easy fixes in the home which they havent done, so it makes it seem like the owners just don't care about maintaining the home. Need better locks on the doors to the pools. My 5 year olds could let themselves out without help. Fridge water and ice needed new filter and didn't work properly. Bags of ice frozen into blocks in freezer. Some of the beds were uncomfortable, sinking in so our feet were higher than our bodies. There was damage to the floor in the bathroom, which could easily cut our feet and it was so slippery. The rug in the living room was filthy. The kids loved the pool once it was cleaned (but cold) and the castle theme, which was the only thing that made us stay. Re-reading the past reviews after our stay make a lot of sense now. The positive ones seem bogus and the poor reviews are quite accurate. I messaged the owners with my concerns about the pool being dirty, which they replied that it recently rained which made it dirty.

Perfect family stay

Beautiful accomodation perfect for our big family. The host was very friendly and had awesome communication. Very helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Perfect.

Truly amazing. Perfect for a big family. Exceedingly well equipped. Modern, characteristic, majestic. A definite must do. Highly recommend.

Not enough heating. Heat pump in sitting room didn't go but Castle Manager on to it.

Beds were great and the place was very warm and comfortable. The spa pool was lovely and we enjoyed all of the other facilities.

Great Place, Needs Maintenance

The property was great. Five bedrooms and lots of spaces. Value for money and the location is far from the city for a good getaway. It has a lot of space and great facilities.

Needs maintenance. The cleaning equipment were in a cupboard with rubbish. The pool was cold and very dirty that anyone who tried to swim would be sick. It was actually green in colour. Small fixes here and there needed. There is a barbecue in the pool area that needs to be removed as it is full of dirt, mould and is a health hazard. The neighbours are literacy next door but we were quiet so didn’t bother us.

Awesome place for the family kids really enjoyed the pool & spa also the gaming area and the setup of the castle. Really good for a lil family get away.

Very good

The castle really is a pretty unique stay, and great for some cool photos! The facilities at the castle were actually better than we expected, a really cool internal set-up with a range of rooms which are well spaced, themed decorations and fun activities such as the pool table and foosball table, alongside a great outdoor pool set-up with the spa.

We bought a lot of food for dinner, but the oven didn't work (would only work on grill, and even then - not very well) this ruined dinner plans and was a bit of a shame. The outside area such as the decking and gardens are also a little worn with broken planks etc. and it would be an even nicer place if it had a bit of a tidy up.

Accomodation is fascinating, neighbours not so much.

The layout of the accomodation which was based on an ancient castle. The accomodation was neat and tidy.

I would not recommend this accomodation to large families or friends wanting to have family time and enjoy themselves due to neighbours being very sensitive towards noise.
