I love the location - perfect spot for beach holiday and not too fair-away from Watamu - yes the road is not perfect but for me it was part of my Kenya experience :-)
They are a few very good restaurant on the beach and Safari was always very helpful , he even took as to a local church which was amazing experience !
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and learn a bit about the locals , the location is very safe .
Pole Pole
I wish that they have a nice strong cafe for breakfast !

It was our best stay in Kenya. If you prefer some calm place instead of overcrowded Watamu, Jacaranda bay is a great choice. In pole pole you can really slow down and just enjoy the peace around. Accomodation is close to the beach, everything very clean and the staff is extraordinarily kind, especially Safari, who took a great care of us. There is also possibility to manage some trips for a better deal than anyone else offered us.
For the price we couldn't choose any better accomodation.
Since Jacaranda bay is just a small 'village' there are not so many options for restaurants or shops. Although you can buy there anything necessary and enjoy a nice dinner in different places. Other option is 15 minutes ride to Watamu.
5.0
Hot water, friendliness of the staff, security. Thank you, Safari for your kindness and promptness.
It's actually halfway between Watamu, requiring a tuktuk or a boda boda to go to the restaurants, banks, etc., but the beach is wonderful, especially at low tide. Fruit for breakfast would have been nice.
3.0
The stay was good.Accessibility to the beach was just perfect for us who liked morning walks.
The place was a bit too far from Watamu town and the road is bumpy.Kindly check on daily change of beddings and towels.

It was even better than the photos, great pool and beach. By far the best shower in Africa: powerful subtle temperature changes and handheld. Safari, the manager outstanding
Nothing really although it’s a bit far from watamu town but that was made clear on the website and there are many ways to move around.
4.0
Friendly staff. Peace. Good access to beach
The road. Access appalling which means visits to Watamu or Malindi a total pain
4.5
The beach house was great and great value and the receptionist Safari was very helpful and nice. The house was a 3 minute walk to the beach and they had some nice beach umbrellas to provide shade. The beach is quiet, white sand and good swimming.
3.0
Safari and Esther are incredibly nice and helpful. They are amazing hosts.
The bed was confortable and the shower had great pressure.
The pool was great and clean.
The food cooked by Esther was good.
The beach chairs are broken and the beach side is dirty.
4.5
This is a great, clean beach house right next to a lovely white sand beach. The water is pretty warm and there arent aggressive beach boys at the beach. There are tiki beach umbrellas on the beach that you can hang out under. The receptionist Safari was very nice as well.
The house is about 25 minutes drive from the main town, so it's a bit of a hike if you want to go to the fancier restaurants and bars or marine park for diving. We came for the beach so this was no problem for us but might be an issue for others
3.5
Comfortable bed. Spacious living area. Fridge available. Kettle, glasses and mugs for room. Need to ask but it’s all available. Tv available. Good WiFi connection. Pool to swim in!!👌🏻👌🏻
Lots of crows that are killing the indigenous bird life which is sad. Shower Plug smelt funny but we reported and it was good after.

Breakfast was OK.
I booked a Seaview room and got non Seaview.
The place wasn't especially clean and the pillow was dirty without pillowcase.
Check in took long and I had to wait atleast 40min for someone to check me in .
4.0
The fact that the breakfast was not inclusive of the rates
0.5
Nothing
Not as advertised. Instead of being a hotel or space it is more like a backpackers lodge paradise. No view of the ocean despite seaside view advertising and a communal living space.

simple b+b outside the center of Watamu, but various beachfront restaurants close by, with a shared swimming pool also. Italian owner super helpful and friendly.
Wi-Fi was a bit slow but not the property's fault, electricity was sometimes off for 1 hr a day.
4.0
The host Safari was absolutely incredible, going above and beyond to help us. All the other staff were very helpful and friendly.
The room was clean and well decorated, and breakfast was very generous and good quality.
The room was only 100m from beach.
We really enjoyed our stay here
We had a power cut while here which meant we didn't have water to shower for one night of our stay.
5.0
excellent location only 2 minutes walk to the beach, the room was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful especially Betty
air conditioner was missing in the room but its always windy and the rooms were pretty ventilated so it wasn’t bad
3.5
The beach is a stone throw away and it is completely gorgeous.
1.5
pretty beach and nice house. the housekeeping/kitchen staff were really lovely.
still a construction zone from a fire in 2020. room was uncomfortably hot, no ventilation, no shower curtain and toilet was broken. second room was better but then had a power cut on Christmas Eve, through the night and into the next morning, no back up power so everything was dark & hot again. front desk staff left premises without notice and did not return, and we weren’t able to get a refill on water on some days. we were prevented from using the condominium pool one morning, lucky one of the house keeping staff was around and spoke with whoever is in charge. location so remote, it’s not easy to find variety of activities, food etc close by for longer stays. front desk staff Safari passive and dishonest, said we could get a refund if we stayed half of our stay, went back on his word and told blatant lies after we checked out- overall a disappointing stay. should have cut our losses, checked out even earlier and enjoyed our holiday somewhere else.
3.0
No restaurant, basic brkfst, no staff present after 5pm, no generator, no refrigerator, no food or snacks or drinks to buy, no access to taxi.
5.0
View and private beach were so peaceful. Manager Safari went out of his way to make guests extremely comfortable and have an enjoyable time. Best manager I have ever met.
4.5
Safari, house manager, always taking care of guest, before, during and after the stay. Few steps from beautiful white sand beach. Room very confortable, everything you may need they will provide
5.0
Really friendly staff, nice room and very close to the beach (private section too). Dinner and breakfast were served well and tasted really good.
No hot showers but because of the temperature it didn't really matter!
3.5
It was secluded. a perfect off grid getaway
It’s hard to access.
2.5
The beach ,they also allowed us to check in early which was nice of them
The name of the property is not indicated on the gate making one get lost for hours and poor communication from Safari.our towels and bedsheets were not changed for the duration of our stay..no toiletries provided except for tissue paper yet they have indicated they provide on the website..the breakfast was so underwhelming,no variety..the pool water was so salty and no beach beds.staff did not go out of their way to explain things or where we could find affordable meals and the access road was so bad making transport super expensive .also no shower curtain, the toilet was always wet
4.0
Near the beach, swimming pool, great staff
location was hard to find since it wasn’t updated on google maps
5.0
The place was clean
2.5
The room was fine, the outsides sitting area was full of breeze for relaxing, the swimming pool was clean and the breakfast was better.
The toilet in the room often had a bad smell and water flows around during shower. It has to do with plumbing issues and lack of shower curtain. There was a consistent noise from water pump at night which was a nuisance while trying to get some sleep.

The staff was very kidness !
Good localisation on a kite spot of jacaranda !

50 meters from the beach, Peter was a great host

The lady staff were very friendly, welcoming and responsive. It's a very ideal holiday destination, literally 2 minutes from the pristine white sand beach. The place is well guarded and safe at all times. There are beach restaraunts located close by which will ensure your afternoons are comfortable and entertaining. I will definitely be back for another visit😊.

I loved the way the room was prepared and the cleanliness of it. Also, people from the very beginning were super kind and attentive.
There were not options for vegan breakfast only fruits and bread. I think even if people are not necessarily vegan or vegetarian it’s always good to have an option. A simple scrambled mix of veggies would’ve helped :)

Pole Pole Beach House felt like a home away from home. Peter (the owner), Beatrice, Esther and Safari (who help run the place), went above and beyond during my stay. I am sure that this treatment extends to all travellers who happen to stay at the house.
I like that the Pole Pole Beach House felt just like a home in many ways. It’s devoid of a resort feel and for beach lovers it’s a quick stroll down to the shore.
Thank you Peter, Beatrice, Esther and Safari!
The only drawback (and really more of my fault) is the distance it takes to get to Watamu village. However it’s easily resolved by hopping on a Boda Boda and you’ll be there in 20 minutes. Same goes for exploring Malindi.
A warning (not a negative) is that the road to the beach house is a marram (dirt) road - but for the adventurous traveller this should add more to the experience than detract from your time on the Kenyan Coast.
3.5
Beautiful location and beautiful beach. Friendly staff. The owner is very friendly too.
The house burned down when I was there. Definitely not their fault but a traumatic experience
3.0
The beachfront was awesome! The staff were responsive to our requests, which was great. They made us Swahili breakfast on the last day as we had asked, and we enjoyed it. More of that would have been even better
The family room was nice. But the fact that the roof wasn't properly covered allowed in lots of mosquitos, which made it tough for my family to sleep well at night. Also, as it was far from town, getting food was a bit of a challenge
