Taking hospitality one step further.

The breakfast selection was really good. It was decent grub too! The added touch of the doggy sausage was most welcome! The room itself was very comfy, although a fan wouldn't have gone amiss as it was a warm night even with the windows open. Also, a shower where I'm not having to crouch to fit under was just the tops! Very happy with that! The room we had came complete with access to the roof terrace, felt right posh having brekkie out there!! We look forward to paying it the Lawrence another visit!

Exceptional stay.

Loved this place, rooms had everything and more. Way to many sweets on offer in the room for me, finished half a jar in the first hour. Great shower , great bed and lovely use of well stocked kitchen. As perfect as you can get.

Disappointing

beautiful decor and lovely food

room was an absolute Marathon to get to dispute bring almost empty. Dinner was a farce and the morning was diabolical

fantastic architecture, so much effort made to present a characterful building

kettle did not work room as freezing cold no central heating towel rail did not work shower , no hand held and all the shower gel, shampoo or and conditioner bottle dispensers did not work breakfast was cooked in grease, sausages were not cooked, mushrooms were just oil , toast was just bread. Orange juice was great, Tea was fabulous, didn’t offer any deductions for these issue’s which was very disappointing

it is beautifully built and some of the rooms that are used to advertise the hotel are really amazing.

the room I got was on the first floor or second floor if you count the mezzanine. there is no lift and the incline is steep.

Always a warm welcome

This is the second time we have stayed at The Lawrence and it definitely won't be the last. Fantastic place, incredible food and wonderful staff.

Superb

Location was very close to my business meeting. They have really renovated this 200 year old home into a beautiful bed and breakfast style place with tasteful interiors. A great place for weddings and baby showers.

Would not stay at the top again, the room would need to be floor lower for our use.

Shower floor very slippery, needed rubber mat. No hooks in bathroom, stairs very steep. However, that is due to the age of the building - nothing owners can do about it.

great value for money. lovely rooms. very clean and had everything you needed

it was bigger inside than it looked from outside. rooms nice size, clean, had little extra touches around. staff pleasant, helpful and friendly breakfast was delicious and a great range of cereals, waffles, before your cooked breakfast. quirky decor, pleasing to look at

Avoid room 13

Really nice hotel. Staff were lovely.

Me and my 4 year old stayed in room 13 . A room with no external windows. Only one that looked into the restaurant. The room was boiling to the point where we left at 7 am . Messaged to explain and was told because we stayed overnight I wouldn't get a refund. I didn't want a refund but a partial gesture or something would have been a step in the right direction
