On the south side this is a great place to stay. You can check out the South Unit of Volcano NP Th-Sun. Also close enough to the main NP unit. Hike to Holomolokini beach (be respectful of locals-park a bit up the road at picnic benches and realize its through a forest and your feet may get wet-an ‘adventure’). The pets were also a highlight and we loved chilling on the lanai with wonderful ocean views while petting them. Host was more then gracious. Get a more hawaiian experience!

The hosts welcomed a visiting carpenter doing some work on our neighboring property. He said that the hosts were wonderful and the unit was clean and well equipped. Access to the unit was seamless.

The property is gorgeous and lush. The view is beautiful from both inside and outside on the porch. Be sure to be home for at least one sunset, it's stunning! The hosts were super welcoming and attentive. The space was spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you're looking for a beautiful relaxing property, this is it!

We enjoyed our stay here. Its an older home built in the 1940s so it gives you a true sense of an all natural Hawaiian lifestyle. The owners were wonderful and the farm truly is a beautiful work in progress. The kitties came to visit daily and as we have fur babies too, we loved them all. Their puppy was so cute and funny! We saw the little newborn lamb who was absolutely adorable. Please be aware, if you are a person who prefers hotel service, then stay at a hotel. However, if you want real Hawaiian kindness and a beautiful view of the Pacific, this is the place for you! Hoku and Adam are simply wonderful down to earth people. A great place to stay.

The property is gorgeous. It is located about an hour from Kona and hour and half from Hilo. It is the perfect spot if you want to visit both cities and the other attractions on that side of the island. The property itself has a fantastic sitting porch where can watch the sky and the weather play out. There are several livestock to watch graze and a few pets to greet. Plenty of wild animals to watch.

Could not have found a more beautiful place to relax and enjoy my stay on the Big island. The hosts were very welcoming and so were the views. Great organic coffee, lovely hobby farm, and the coolest puppy dog ever. We are highly recommended to others.

We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Beautifully decorated and spacious. Large wrap around lanai provided scenic views of the ocean.

As soon as we walked into the cottage we felt instantly relaxed. Inside the cottage is incredibly cozy, we loved the evenings with windows open listening to the coqui frogs. We enjoyed the daily visits on our lanai from the cats, ducks and Hapa the dog. We enjoyed macadamia nuts, avocados and other fruit picked right from the trees on the property. Hokulani recommended we dine at a restaurant called Tai Shan in Ocean View. It is not to be missed! Thank you for a lovely stay Hokulani and we hope to be back again one day.

Our flight to Kona was delayed due to an incident at the Kona airport. We arrived to the farmhouse after dark. Being that this is a rural area and working farm it was pitch black when we arrived. But Google maps led us right to the property without issue. The owner’s instructions on getting to and entering the property was flawless. Heather, the owner, was easy to communicate with. Being a rural area most things are at least 45-60 minutes away and those closest close by 8:30. But there was information about what was available nearby for shopping, eating and activities. We were greeted in the morning by the farm’s sheep, roosters, cats and dogs - Hapa & U’i. The view from the lanai in back was spectacular - picture postcard view of the ocean and the sunsets. While many of our daily activities were in Kona, the farm’s location only 45 minutes from South Point made exploring the most southern part of the island easy. Definitely will return on our next Hawai’i vacation.

Great communication and family

Stayed here as a “vacation from vacation” at a resort with family… just what we were looking for. Clean, comfortable, low-key setting among the small farms on the lush lower slopes of Mauna Loa. “Nothing fancy” but restful and relaxing. Nice location away from the hustle of Kona and closer to the wild southern tip of the island. The view from the deck is amazing! Host Hokulani is great. Thanks again for a lovely stay!

Really one of the best views of the ocean and lush green surroundings, rural location, no mass of tourists. Cute cottage and super friendly kitties that came over and hung out with us.

This was the perfect property for us. We enjoyed being off the beaten path. Our hostess was just that, a "hostess". She was very responsive to our questions regarding the area and met what ever small needs we had (like request for more bird seed). We enjoyed the lanai immensely and spent a lot of time just watching birds, sun sets, the ocean, and the farm hen with her chicks. The only draw back is the distance from activities. However, it was worth it for us to be off the beaten path of town. I would highly recommend it to others.

We absolutely loved our stay! Adorable guest house, fantastic views, delicious fresh fruit, and of course some friendly farm cats. Would recommend to anyone who wants some slower paced time during their trip.

It is isolated from the tourist hotels and big cities and 100% relaxing, which is what we wanted. A drive of 1-2 hours from any of the big cities and tourist destinations, but 10 minutes from the rocky coast of Kona and a short hike to black sand and green sand beaches. The accomodations were impressive with a large living area, huge deck and beautiful views. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in getting away from the large hotels and crowded beaches.

Great place to stay for fabulous view, wonderful hosts and a comfortable and peaceful rural experience. There are many semi-developed parks and beaches to explore within easy driving distance, especially if you enjoy hiking and wandering. Incredible snorkeling 30 minutes away. Most of the beaches are remote and wild. Kona is a bit of a drive on a twisty road so if you need close by civilization of that type you should stay elsewhere (same for Hilo). Nearest grocery as fast food 20 minutes away, so plan accordingly. 4WD not needed but if you want they can be used to explore rough coastal roads. Don't come here if you want the Kona condo experience.

The cottage had everything we needed and more! The kitchen was well stocked, the bed very comfortable, the lanai spacious with beautiful sunsets. The mornings were cool, but there were many extra blankets to keep us cozy!

Due to flight delays we arrived into Big Island around midnight, so after picking up the rental car and driving the hour to where we were staying, it was very late and we were tired. Even so the provided instructions were good and enabled us to find the farm. If your coming from Kona Airport be prepared that the road does have lots of tight turns and has lots of stretches which are 30 MPH, which is why the drive is about an hour, but it is a lot of fun to drive. Arriving at the farm we found the parking space which is great because it is under a cover along with where they keep the miscellaneous item, which you can used, such as body boards and snorkeling equipment. We were initially unable to find the right door for our rental as the solar lights had gone off by now, so we didn’t see the sign for the “Farmhouse”. Hokulani, one of the owners, came out to ensure we were ok, thank you for that, even though it was past 2 am. They have a nice new mattress, fridge and stove in the rental. The bed is soft, which for us was a little too soft, but that’s just personal preference, we still slept well on it. We were initially unsure how it would work out without air conditioning, but we soon realised that you do not need it. The windows open to allow cooling breezes in, as well as all the sounds of the night, if you’ve ever wondered just what the real Hawaii sounds like, come here, it was wonderful to listen to it all. We did learn very quickly that you do need to manage the windows as to how much cooling you need as some mornings, we felt a little too cold, so you may want to consider bring slippers and/or a house coat for the mornings. The rental is the right-hand end of the building in the aerial photo of the farm as you look at it. So you get a great view of the farm and the ocean in the distance, and some great sunsets if your back by around 6pm, when we were there. The farm has chickens and cats wondering, and interestingly, totally ignoring each other. We had nightly and morning visits from the cats and daily visits from the chickens as well as one who laid 4 eggs in the flowerpot on the deck. You don’t go to Hawaii to watch TV, but one is provided with Roku, just keep your expectations real, you are away from all the developments and tourist areas here so there is no cable and only satellite Wi-Fi, the band-width is not high speed, so some programs will buffer or drop off. Location wise you are positioned in a great location to acces

We are BEYOND PLEASED with this adorable little cottage & the view...what can I say? When I walked around the corner to the deck, the view literally took my breath away! I would have been perfectly happy never leaving that spot for our entire stay! It is located in a very picturesque part of the island only about an hour away from the Kona airport...the drive is quite pleasant, too. It is very lush & green with lots of beautiful foliage. It was really interesting to see such dramatic changes in the scenery in such a short drive! The cottage was clean, spacious & had really everything we needed & then some. From the fruit trees where you could pick your own breakfast to the provided coffee beans that are grown just steps away from where you sleep! The coffee was SO GOOD! They totally NAILED the most important thing to us in a vacation rental (next to a clean place)...the bed. If the bed is uncomfortable, it is a no go for us - who wants terrible sleep on vacation? The bed was really like sleeping on a cloud, the linens were crisp & clean - even the pillows were super comfy. Our lovely hostess was so friendly & incredibly helpful. She gave us some wonderful advice & recommendations...all of which panned out. We have been staying in vacation rentals for the better part of the last 10 years & she has been one of the best hostesses! We would NOT hesitate to stay here again & actually plan to. My ONLY regret was not buying some of their lovely coffee to take back home with me. And if you have a bigger party, you can rent their other little cottage just behind this one, too! Do yourself a favor & choose this place for your stay in Hawaii! You won't be disappointed.

Very nice home and location. Owners were traveling during our stay so we didn't get to meet them but we got the entire place to ourselves. Loved the stay, highly recommend.
