Beautiful scenery between mountains. I could probably live here, but please bare in mind, you need to have car and I reccomend this to be your choice for the weekend or a short stay. It is very clean and comfy (I love the bed). The breakfest is standard, yet still tasty :)

Authentic Swiss, with good vibe

Location is great Hotel is fantastic, very authentic Wooden old-style building,

Sharing a shower with other rooms is okay-ish … but that shared toilet/shower is rather simple There price is a bit high for what you get

Great visit in a pleasant location.

Unexpected find, located in a beautiful valley. The room was located across the road from the hotel in a newly renovated building which was excellent. Dinner options were good and either casual bar or more formal dining room options available.

No breakfast setting allocated for us and no staff available to assist at the time.

Lively downstairs

It was right on the road side, easy to find, pleasant staff.

My room was located above the restaurant, and it sounded like a great place to be - unless you were trying to get some sleep. There was music playing and everything. So if you want an early night maybe ask for a quieter room further back.

Full of Swiss alpine character! Warm-hearted, happy staff. Great meals.

Great hotel - full of Swiss alpine character! The Hotel Baron is the heart and soul of this little township. Fabulous warm-hearted, friendly, smiley proprietors & staff. Absolutely loved our newly renovated room and their buffet breakfasts (included in the price). Their highly experienced chef also accommodated our food allergies during our stay. Great choice of meals to suit all budgets. Great access point to explore nature at it’s best or nearby popular tourist areas. Will definitely come again! Ten stars!

Amazing Weekend in the Nature

The location is amazing, you have at least 5 waterfalls you can see from the hotel. Super comfortable, the team working there is super friendly.... and they are pet friendly which is wonderful.

great place to stay overnight or a couple nights while exploring Gelmerbahn area

the rooms looked newly renovated everything was clean and crisp. the view was also wonderful.

breakfast didn’t have a lot of options for nondairy lactose people like myself, but the croissants and fresh jam/jelly was amazing by itself !

Excellent small hotel with a local flavour!

Super clean and new, really nice hotel to see what Guttannen has to offer! The food from the restaurant was delicious (and copious!!!), breakfast was generous with many different options to choose from. And the attention was very warm and welcoming. What we liked the most was that this area had sort of a local vibe, which we much enjoyed. We will definitely come back next time we’re in Switzerland

Superb

Breakfast has good variety of products of different types. Rooms with great view. Location is amazing - you can go hiking right from the hotel if you want.

Sound isolation was not the best, you can hear footsteps of people with are on next floor.

clean, cozy and high value/price ratio

Stayed here for 1 night for the Gelmerbahn/gelmersee hiking the next day (check bus 161/171 time table, not many routes in am). Room was super clean and cozy. Enjoyed the lovey surrounding mountain view at room/on terrace, particularly the cow bell rang non-stop at dusk moment. Waitress a bit busy at handling checking-in and kitchen errands simultaneously, but in general nice & helpful. It’s a popular restaurant too.

excellent dinner menu

the room light has an automatic sensor to turn the light on. it will shut off by itself automatically after 4 minutes but it will stay on for 4 minutes. very inconvenient in the middle of the night.

The room was super clean. The village is beautiful located. The girl who served dinner and breakfast was really friendly, in contrast to the other staff.

Not really a friendly welcoming atmosphere, nobody said welcome or hi. We were first offered a room without WiFi, I don't know why they think we would want that.

Very good

The building is new and the room is spacious specially for us that we have kids, it's not the usually room with extra bed but it was two rooms connected. The room is clean aside from the door knobs from the entrance to the door of the shower it was all dirty. We also find difficult on communication because they don't speak english but the blonde lady is patient which is good.

At the restaurant and breakfast there was so many flies.
