The owners spared no expense with the total renovation of this gorgeous 18th floor condo, overlooking the beautiful beach. Using fun shark-themed decor, the only thing you’ll find scary is the thought of having to leave! Westwinds is the crown jewel of beachfront vacation rentals in Sandestin.
The living room, complete with two walls of windows, boasts almost complete panoramic views of the beautiful sugary white sands and emerald green waters of the Gulf. There is a 4k Ultra HD TV including a sound bar for incredible movie-watching when relaxing at night. You’ll find a DVD collection with something for everyone. The game cabinet is stocked with your family’s favorite games and puzzles – perfect for a rainy day at the beach!
The dining area, with comfortable seating for eight, features a large concrete top table with an oyster chandelier. In addition to this, there are two stools at the kitchen counter. Adjacent to the dining area is a wine/beverage fridge, perfect for keeping all of your favorite beverages cold!
The kitchen, featuring Vetrazzo countertops with recycled glass and oyster shells, is completely outfitted for entertaining. From sea-inspired tableware and glassware to beautiful serving platters and bowls, each meal at the beach can be a special one.
All three bathrooms feature new cabinetry, new quartzite countertops, new tile and beautiful new fixtures. You’ll feel like you are staying at a five-star resort!
Each bedroom features a down comforter, with sea-inspired décor. Whether you are in the “Sunrise Room” – painted in the exact same coral color as the beautiful sunrise at the beach, the Shark-themed bunk room, or the “Sea Coral” master suite, you’ll feel right at home. At Westwinds there is a lot to enjoy besides the beach. You will find one of the most luxurious pool areas (with seasonal concession/bar) and a kid's pool. A Jacuzzi is provided for adult use. There is also a well-equipped workout room overlooking the gorgeous pool.
Beyond the pool is the sugar sand beach. You may choose to rent chairs and umbrellas from the resort, or you may bring your own.

It was our 3rd time staying at the beautiful Shark Shack! The views are amazing and the water was so clear. We truly enjoy the vibe of Westwinds with a large pool, manageable beach access, and the snack bar/beverage center. The condo was clean and is designer decorated. Other than needing some chip clips (which we improvised with forks) the kitchen has everything you need to cook in. There are restaurants in close proximity which is nice. We look forward to vacationing here again!

The condo was beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed. We traveled with three little kids and they loved the bunk beds. The kitchen was well appointed, the washer and dryer worked well, the views were unbeatable. The pool was heated and very warm so we enjoyed that even when it was chilly.

Over the years, this was simply the best rental unit and rental experience. This unit was perfection and the building luxurious. The decor, the cleanliness, the location, that VIEW. A few updates needed… dishwasher door is loud opening and closing, refrigerator inside bottom drawers are not operational because of counter, master dresser drawers not working properly.

My wife and our 4 kids stayed here over fall break. We had a wonderful time! We have built several homes over the years and really enjoyed the decor and finishes in the condo. The view from the patio is amazing and I appreciated the outdoor furniture. The kids had lunch on the patio one day. The grounds were well kept and the pool and hot tub were very clean. Great bonus that there’s a bar and snack shop at the pool. We to several popular restaurants in Destin but one of the best nights we had was at The Beach House just 1/4 mile down the beach. Super easy to get a table and the food and service were on point.

The entire rental process was very smooth with the property management company and the unit is fantastic. My only complaint is that the master bed needs to be replaced. This is our second time in this beautifully remodeled condo. Beautiful views, terrific location, very comfortable beds. Our only complaint is the management company...we couldn’t get anyone to answer when our water was off (a Friday at 4pm). Luckily, another resident helped us find and reset the HALO system. They also are stingy with dishwasher soap (one pellet for a 4 day stay), dish soap and trash bags. So make sure to bring extra with you, along with beach towels.

The condo itself was very clean and a great place to stay. Parking was easy as well as pool and beach access. The only negative is the beach set up. We rented chairs daily and were told by the Hilton San Destin Company that paid set ups were not allowed directly on the water and had to be back 15 feet from the high water mark; however tents and other large canopy set ups were not allowed in front of the chair rentals. This ended up not being the case. Large tents as well as several lines of personal umbrella and chairs were placed in front of the paid chair sets daily. This caused significant overcrowding and lack of shoreline for our kids to play. Based on the beach set up, we will likely rent elsewhere next time.

Great condo. We ended up with a few less people than originally planned but we still had enough room for everyone. Bright, open and spacious. Everything was cleaned for us when we arrived. Location right on the beach is great. Take the elevator down , a short walk and you are on the sand. Relax on the balcony and look out at the ocean. The pictures in the post are accurate and what you will get. We had an issue with one of the toilets that did not work. They sent someone right up immediately but unfortunately that had to order parts. That toilet was unavailable for the duration of our stay, but that is not really their fault. The good news is that there are two other bathrooms to use!
We mostly went out for dinner so never used the kitchen, but looking through the cabinets, it is well stocked for anything that you might want to cook.
The only issue we had is it was hard to figure out what on the complex we could use. Example, there are tennis courts near a different condo but within the Sandestin property. Can we use those? Being a condo, there is not really a front desk to ask those questions like you would at a hotel. There are multiple golf courses on the property but some say Sandestin property users only? Could we play those? If we were staying more than a week, I'm sure that I would have figured all of this out so it was not a big deal. Destin's Warf area was about 30 minutes away (when there was traffic). There is grocery stores and shopping within 15 minutes form the condo.
The ultimate question: Would we stay here again? Yes!

Beautiful family vacation rental
We came for spring break with our 4 kids and grandparents. Beautiful views of the ocean every sunrise and sunset. Property management company was very attentive and helpful. Condo itself was perfect for our family and the decor very calming. The game shelf was utilized for the one rainy day. Swimming pool was wonderfully warm (appreciated as outside temps were only 50-70). Close proximity to restaurants and shopping and the shuttle made it super easy to travel together in one vehicle. Will definitely rent again!

Perfect view of the Gulf providing excellent walks every morning. Very well maintained grounds and property. Fun Putt Putt and a few restaurants within walking distance. The Tram to get around the complex is slow so be prepared to wait a while. Our unit was outstanding!

Condo was beautiful! We loved the layout and it was very quiet. Views were great and love the location. It was very clean! However, there were three of us staying there and we were all getting ready to go out to eat, after one shower there was no hot water left. Two of us had to take cold showers. For the price, we felt like we should at least all have hot water.

This was a beautiful property and looked exactly like the photos! Would definitely stay here again! Never done a VRBO like this before, so the different codes for doors/parking/beach were slightly confusing at first, but I recommend reading all emails/notifications (which come right before checkin) to make sure you know how to get in. Property managers were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had.

This condo by far exceeded our expectations on numerous levels. The condo itself was decorated beautifully. The furniture and bedding was higher end and not your average condo furnishings. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the utensils to cook. The condo was exceptionally clean, which you don’t always find in rentals. Beyond all of that, the view is incredible. The pool was never crowded and the grounds were always clean. We would definitely stay here again.

The sectional sofa was so comfortable I’m looking for one like it to put in my home! The bedding was a bit minimal so if you like heavy blankets bring your own. Easy fix. We would absolutely rent this unit again! This was our first stay in San Destin and it won’t be the last.

A perfect beach getaway
This was a beautiful property with the most gorgeous beach and water views. The unit was immaculate and perfectly comfortable for families. The decor was a beautiful, coastal theme. We would stay here again. Access to beach and other amenities was very easy. The entire rental process was seamless. The property management company was great with communication. Information was easily accessible. Overall a great stay!
