About this cabin rental
Completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, we rent by the night, the week, or the month from March 1 thru December 1 (weather permitting). Summer is our prime time and tends to fill far in advance. Before and after summer, rates are a little lower. Weekend rates are slightly higher than weekday rates due to demand. We may rent by the month with the rate dependent on the month(s) requested. Call for this pricing, please.
Come to Raystown and enjoy tons of water activities: swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking as well as hiking, biking and bird-watching! A vacation in Raystown will be one to remember for years to come. Can't take a week off? Visit us for a long weekend or, even better, come during the week for a discounted price!
You will need to bring bedsheets and also towels for the bathroom as well as personal bath care items. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish cloths, dish towels. Cabin 3 has a queen bed in one bedroom and a double bed in the other bedroom. Each bed has pillows, a blanket and bedspread. There are convenience stores nearby as well as a full-service Walmart within 10 minutes.
Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania. The 29 mile long lake and surrounding area are owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with great hiking, hunting, boating, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. Other popular attractions include caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have recently created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. Fishing tournaments frequent the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.
The cabin is also only 10 minutes drive from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and about 45 minutes drive to Penn State University main campus in State College, PA

The cabin is little but very comfortable. The driveway is definitely a mountain driveway. Very steep. The property of the cabin is very steep as well. Walking to the firepit is very steep too.

We had a very nice time exploring the area. The cabin was comfy for the most part. We did have a lot of stink bugs inside though and the queen bed was not good for my back. We really enjoyed sitting at the picnic table with our cup of coffee and listening to the
birds. I liked that the other cabins were not too close.

Nice little cabin. Very clean, nice fire pit and grill, 2 picnic tables. Well stocked. Simple cabin for a quiet weekend away. We would definitely return. Liked that we could bring our two dogs and not worry about them.

I was looking for quiet mountain getaway and near raystown lake
It is a nice rustic cabin. I loved the high porch overlooking the drive in and the valley. I had a project to work on and didn't get to go exploring much but the quiet was what I needed to finish the work. Thankfully, the internet was adequate to do my work. My dog loved it too.

Nice rustic cabin. Very clean and well furnished. Linda was excellent in communicating. I'd go back again. The only thing I'd point out to future guests is the road may not be suitable for small cars.

Clean and well stocked
Wayne and Linda were excellent hosts. The cabins are rustic, very clean and comfortable and care has been taken to ensure they are very well equipped. We were with 3 other families so we had their entire to ourselves and had a wonderful time. But there is enough privacy between cabins that you will feel comfortable even if you don’t know you’re neighbors.

Small, cozy getaway
Located up a hill with two other cabins about 15 minutes away from Raystown Lake, our experience was exactly what we wanted - a small, cozy cabin with a grill/firepit right outside.
The pictures are accurate - what you see is what you get. The cabin felt properly cleaned and sanitized (you may need to bring your own sheets/blankets). The cabins around the area are far enough to feel like you have a sense of privacy.
There's a TV with cable and a DVD player, along with AC (the unit is located in the living room)
The cabin, based off the listing, met our expectations.

A great place to escape to
Coming to this cabin was my first getaway during the pandemic and it was so lovely to get out of the city and be tucked away in the woods for a few days. I really appreciated the care in cleanliness that was taken –– it definitely gave me peace of mind to arrive and see the notices about all the extra steps they had taken to clean and disinfect the cabin between guests. Just make sure to pick up your own hand soap! That was the only necessity that wasn't provided that I wish was (everything else that you need to bring is clearly stated in the listing, so we came prepared with sheets and bath items). There are 3 other cabins on the property but there was enough space in between that we didn't have to interact with anyone if we didn't want to, though I'm sure it could be a fun place to make friends in a not COVID world! Thanks for having us, I'd definitely stay again!

Was nice to go relax in this cabin in the woods and enjoy time at the lake. Everything was as expected.

Great location
We rented this cabin and our friends rented another cabin on the property. It was a great experience all around. Everything was clean and organized. Our friends hosted dinners and their cabin waS great too. We did have an issue with the tv, remote was missing, however a quick text to the owner and she brought over a new one right away. It was close to the lake. My kids and dog had a blast, we’d rent again in a heart beat.
