Good choice for short stay but very corporate

Well located but not in centre Guilin - easy accessed by taxi - Didi from the station Can walk into town along the river but does take about an hour Good views from the front high rooms.

This is a large hotel with a very corporate feel with the rooms being indistinguishable from any large corporate hotel in the world and starting to feel very tired.

Exceptional

Exceptional 5* hotel, beautiful bedroom, restaurant and reception space. Staff were very helpful, as it was my birthday they made me a cake free of charge. Special thanks to Luffy who was friendly and kind.

Superb

The hotel is sprawl, it has mini zoo inside the property, peacock for instance 😀. The bed is super comfortable and room is massive, love the setting even it's a bit dated.

The location is a bit far from downtown.

Exceptional

The hotel is clean and well maintained. The reception staff is very warm and knowledgable. The food in the different restaurants is very good. The rooms are large, very well arranged. The balcony part is very pleasant. garden is amazing

Good

The Spa was outstanding! Great massage from Carol and Kelly! The outdoor pool was also a lovely place to spend the afternoon. The downside- you couldn't sit directly at the pool as there was a large wall surrounding the whole perimeter.

The room was very old fashioned. A renovation with modern taste would make this hotel excellent!

I had verified whether all the facilities would be functioning at the time of visit, specifically asking about the indoor pool and was assured that it was open and functioning as usual. One of the reasons I chose the hotel is because of the indoor pool. However, on arriving I was told that the indoor pool was closed for cleaning and would be closed for the entire duration of the stay. I chose to not stay at the hotel and booked another hotel nearby. Given that I had taken the trouble to check about the facilities before arriving, it was an absolute waste of time for me to go to the hotel to be told that the same was not true.

Beyond exceptional

The personal touch that was applied to our stay from the hotel. I asked for some rose petals to be spread on the bed for our anniversary. instead we got a delicious cake. The baby cot was also clean and safe. My son slept like a baby. :)

Worst Hotel Ever

The bed and the view.

The people at the hotel are racist. If you are a foreigner don't stay here. I went to the outdoor pool. Only 50% of the people were wearing a swimming cap. I know that is the rule, however they were not enforcing it at ALL. Suddenly here I come a foreigner and they target me. It was not only this incident I felt it everywhere I went in this hotel. It is SUPPOSED to be an international 5 star hotel. It is not. I paid over 200 dollars a night to stay here. I will never stay at a shangri-la as long as I live. It is not international at all. The food is terrible too. Worst hotel experience in China.

Everything! Every staff we met from the receptionist, restaurant to the lady in the zoo was nice. And yes love the zoo, the performance at night, and the bamboo dance people. Reception react fast when they see a long queue is forming from the conference people and check the individual customers in at a separate location. Really enjoy the stay!

Carpet could maintain a bit better, the room was nice.

convenient located 4 star hotel

i liked the beautiful garden, the fact that you could sit outside for breakfast, the location close to restaurants on walking distance

the room smelled very musty, liked someone smoked in there although it was a non-smoking room, the hotel was huge with 439 rooms so very busy, the breakfast was mostly Chinese oriented but there was an egg station and a small amount of bread, the swimmingpool was under contruction which is ununderstandable as they have had so many time to prepare. For me the hotel is 4stars, not 5 stars.

Horizon Club has really a value added, staff really friendly and excellent breakfast !

Room was very clean, staff very friendly, shows in the lobby and excellent gym club.

No point to highlight here, all according to expectation and value.

Disappointing

Location and view, swimming pool, drink selection at lobby bar

Water was leaking out of the shower room; shampoo was missing and it took staff way too long to deliver after requesting; concierge’s price for tours are abnormally high. Perhaps the most disappointing experience I ever had with Shangri-la.
