Summary:
My place, a cozy 2 bedrooms apartment, just renovated, is located in the very heart of historical Athens, next to the "Thission" metro station. Just beneath Acropolis' hill, Monastiraki, Plaka, Psiri are within walking distance. Museums, main archeological sites, restaurants, cafés, markets, art galleries, are a 10' walk away. Nightlife is diverse & easy to reach. You will enjoy the location and feel comfortable. Ideal for couples, business travelers, and families. Also suitable for lone travelers.
Space:
The recently renovated sunny apartment is located in the heart of Athens, in the Thission area. It is decorated in modern/minimal style letting guests feel comfortable. It's on the first floor in a 3storey building.
It consists of 2 bedrooms equipped with spacious closets. One of them has a king-size double bed, while the other has 2 comfortable single beds.
There is a modern living room with a couch/bed for two, being also the entertainment center of the house, with a 40in flat TV and a home cinema set and a variety of DVDs. Wired and Bluetooth connections are available to enjoy music from your own devices.
Next to the living room, there is an elegant dining room.
A fully equipped, open space kitchen and a bathroom including all amenities complete the 65 sq.m. apartment.
Both bedrooms and kitchen have wooden floors while the dining area and living room have a stunning vintage mosaic floor. (see relevant photos).
Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available to all rooms. Furthermore wired connection is included in all rooms.
There are three independent air condition units (one for each bedroom and a third for the living and dining room) that can keep you cool or warm any season.
In addition, for wintertime, there is a central heating system in place, but usually do not need extra heating.

All the facilities of the house (balconies and common areas) are accessible
You can relax and feel totally comfortable: You are on a holiday!

The Neighborhood:
You are in the heart of a vibrant central neighborhood, one of the most touristic and sightseeing neighborhoods of Athens. It is also considered a very safe one.
Though extremely central, the house is in a tranquil street, where you can relax around the clock.
You can satisfy all your daily needs and procurement in the vicinity.
Supermarkets, bakery, fruits shop, etc are just around the corner.
Restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars can be reached in a minute.
You will also have the privilege to be next to the national observatory, Ancient Agora, Temple of Hephaestus, broadly known as Thissio, and a variety of parks suitable for family and/or romantic promenades. Herakleidon art, science, and Mathematics museum is also an attraction, especially for kids.
Getting around:
Walking is your first option, because of the great location of the apartment.
The closest train/metro station is Thissio (To Piraeus Port/ Green Line -No 1) only 2min away by foot.

This is a cute apartment that is just the right size for a family with 2 kids. It is located within an easy walk of many great attractions - the Acropolis, Monastiraki Square, the Plaka neighborhood, Syntagma Square, and more. The host and his wife are very gracious and kind. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Recommend highly!

This apartment was a real find. We stayed with our teens for 4 days and it was perfect. The location is great - lots of restaurants, a supermarket and a bakery within 5 minutes and the Acropolis is just 15 minutes walk away. The apartment itself is spotless and had everything you need for a family of four. George met us on arrival and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended!

This listing was exactly as it was described by the owner. A 10 minute walk to the Acropolis, food and beverages within 5 minutes. Owner was very responsive and allowed us to check-in early.

We had a great stay! Our host was very responsive and friendly. Finding a place to park took some time and our host even offered to move his car for us! The apartment was in a perfect location to walk to all historic sites and good restaurants.

Fabulous location in the heart of Thissio, a few steps from eateries, bars, a metro station and possibly the best Acropolis view in Athens.
The flat is clean, quiet, well-equipped and well air-conditioned and was a brilliant base for all our sightseeing. George is a really helpful host and met us on arrival.

This apartment is in a great location. Centrally located and within walking distance to a lot of Athens sites, restaurants, and stores. The apartment itself is very nice, clean, and has all the amenities you need. George, the host, is so kind and responds to any requests/questions you may have. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We enjoyed the apartment immensly , It was comfortable, well-equiped and close to everything we wanted to see just walking. Restaurants were many and the food was tasty.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this wonderful city.
Our departure was rushed however because the taxi for the airport arrived but our host was late. We had to leave the key under the carpet in front of the door. Thank you for everything George!

The apartment was in a nice area of Thissio very close to many nice restaurants, many with amazing views of the Acropolis-spectacular lit up at night. The apartment was steps from the walking path at the base of the acropolis. The host George was very responsive. If we return to Athens, we would definitely stay there again. Lovely to walk the neighborhood day or night. Not good for a car. We used Uber which was very affordable and connected directly to local taxis. We never waited more than 4 minutes for a ride. Avoid the metro from the airport. We saw no police or security. Gangs of pickpockets can overtake you and crowd you. They are very skilled at what they do and you have no recourse while you are toting luggage. Recommend Uber or other private transport from the airport.

We were in Athens to visit our daughter and her fiancé who are traveling. What luck that we found George’s place. It was as promised, roomy, comfortable, clean and close to everything. On our first night, we took a short walk and had a great dinner with a stunning view of the Acropolis! What a perfect vacation!

This little place was perfect for us during our four day stay in Athens. We could walk to everywhere we needed to go for shopping, the Acropolis, the city. Communication with our host was a breeze

Localisation is excellent and really central. And 5 minutes walk from the metro. You see the Acropolis all lighted just walking down the street and the Agora is very near.
A 20 minutes walk to get to the Acropolis center for the Hop On/ Hop Off buses.
Restaurants very nearby to suit every wallet.
And don’t be afraid for the security: the locks of the door are surely more secure than a prison….but it takes a little training….hihihi!
And George is answering really fast to our questions.

When I say this place is perfect I mean it. Not only location is perfect but it so clean and cute and comfortable inside. Hosts were so thoughtful and easy to communicators with. We could walk everywhere we wanted to see in Athens and the neighborhood felt very safe. If we come to Athens again will be staying here!!!

Couldn’t imagine staying in a better location in Athens! You can easily walk to all of the prime locations, yet stay in an inviting neighborhood. You can walk to nearby restaurants, as well as a beautiful view of the Acropolis. One of our favorite restaurants was Kousoulo which is located about a block from the apartment. Then head left, when facing the restaurant, after dinner to see a fabulous night view of the Acropolis. There are a number of good coffee shops and bars in the area.
George and his wife Roula were very helpful before and after our arrival. George was kind enough to come from work to let us in the apartment after we locked ourselves out, with a smile on his face. Plus, he gave us the number to a car service, which worked out perfectly for us.
The apartment is very clean and comfortable. It was a good place to relax after our long days sightseeing. Make sure to visit the Acropolis first thing in the morning before the crowds and heat!

Thank you George for the comfortable apartment. We only stayed overnight before our cruise but the apartment was very relaxing and the A/C was much appreciated. George’s wife was so kind as we were leaving directing us to the place to grab a taxi for the cruise port. The apartment location is well situated, we walked to the Acropolis and had a late dessert at a local cafe. George answered all of my many questions before arrival as this was our first trip to Greece. Thank you.

My 18 year old daughter and I had the pleasure of staying in this quaint and convenient apartment in Athens. It was an easy trip from the airport using the metro and less than a 20 minute walk to the Acropolis. Restaurants and shops are just around the corner. George is very attentive and responsive to his guests inquiries and needs. Very clean and quiet. I appreciated the thermos and coffee tumblers left out for guests to use during their stay.

This is a very comfortable, clean, modern apartment located on a quiet street, yet just one block from the main pedestrian street in Thissio with beautiful Acropolis views and great restaurants. It is a very quick walk in one direction to the Acropolis, the Plaka and the Ancient Agora. But if you go the other way you enter the part of Thissio that is less touristy (which we value) and can enjoy the neighborhood's great bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. George was a very responsive host and also offered great advice (like how to store our luggage nearby as we arrived very early to Athens).

Felt bad that our flight was delayed, but George’s son was there to let us in. Very smooth check in process. We were only there one night, but it was perfect for our sightseeing in Athens. We walked everywhere from this apartment. We saw so much in 24 hours! Restaurants nearby was a huge plus….we walked to every meal! Easy access to the Metro which was great for our arrival and departure to/from the airport. No car needed. The apartment was clean and spacious. I would highly recommend it if you are staying in Athens or just passing through Athens.

The apartment is not glamorous, but comfortable, quiet, clean and perfectly located, almost around the corner from the pedestrian way to the Acropolis and the Agora, cafés, restaurants, etc. Unfortunately I fell ill and we had to cut short our trip. George, the host, was very responsive and tried to help. There was a mixup on billing, not helped by confusing aspects of the VRBO platform, but that was minor.

All expectations were exceeded. Host was very welcoming and spent time pointing out all of the amenities of the apartment. Kitchen is very well equipped, beds are comfy and there is room to spread out. Everything was in working order.
Walking distance to Acropolis entry in one direction and Hadrians Library in the other. A choice of cafes and restaurants close by. Can highly recommend the weirdly named Retro Funky Cafe. Awesome food.

The apartment is very clean with plenty of supplies. The owner was very accommodating and helpful with navigating Athens. He even helped us arrange a taxi for the morning drive to the airport. What a relief to have such an advocate! The location of the apartment was perfect. Safe and away from the noise, yet walking distance to historical sites, restaurants, and shopping.
