Felt like home from home. Ideally situated for exploring the lakes.

Location in Ambleside and therefore the Lakes v. good, breakfast excellent, friendly & helpful hosts, room comfortable and has all that you need - ensuite, T coffee facilities. 3rd time been here so say no more.

Absolutely nothing. Parking was an issue if the property was fully booked. this is no more of an issue as they have parking passes for guests. Again, all good.

Exceptional

Everything!! The bed was super comfy, room was brilliant, Steve, Tina & Charlie are lovely, breakfast was amazing, location is exceptional. Steve gave us directions for the perfect walk that starts just around the corner and looks back through town. We'll be back. Thank you both so much!

Very comfortable, lovely bathroom, excellent location right in the heart of Ambleside, free parking, quiet, lovely staff, full breakfasts. Very good value for money. Would definitely book again.

A comfortable stay with very welcoming hosts - couldn’t ask for more

Steve and Tina were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Lovely breakfasts every morning. Location was really good being only a short walk into the centre of Ambleside

A very relaxing stay and hosts were super.

A great guest house to stay at in Ambleside.

Very comfortable room, excellent breakfast menu, very friendly hosts , good location for town amenities.

The beds weren't very comfortable. Would have liked a bigger breakfast window.

Very friendly, free parking and a great cooked breakfast.

The front bedroom does suffer from road noise. I appreciate this is not within the control of the owners but is disruptive on summer mornings when you need the windows open.

A hidden gem of a guest house in Ambleside

Without doubt the cleanest guest house I’ve ever stayed in and the owners are super helpful and hospitable. A hidden gem in Ambleside. Highly recommended.

Perfect stay in the Lake District

I stayed 3 nights in a single room. Wanslea Guest House is close to the piers of Ambleside and also close to the city centre. From the backdoor starts a beautiful hike to Wansfell Pike. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. You get to choose from a breakfast menu the day before und they also have cereal. The breakfast itself was delicious! The owners were really nice and so helpful, gave recommendations for hikes and if you need anything, they'll make it possible. Parking is free and you get discount for some restaurants in Ambleside.

Great stay at Wanslea - would recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Wanslea - the hosts were lovely and accommodating from the start. The room was super clean and well equipped with a comfy bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and we loved being able to choose exactly what we wanted from the menu! Would definitely recommend!

Superb

Staff were very attentive and nice, everything was clean and as described. Great breakfast. Arrived a little after the check in time but the owner kindly waited for us and was very welcoming. The room was very warm all night. Cannot praise the hosting and friendliness of the owners enough!

The room was a little bit dark, but was very pleasant and well equipped. The bedside lamps were good, but maybe the main light (and in the bathroom) could do with an update.

Excellent ran B&B

This is a very well run B&B, it’s spotlessly clean, communication is great before you arrive. Steve & Tina are friendly and great with advice. The breakfast is excellent, they only have a 45 min window for it from 8-8:45, which isn’t a problem for me but something to bare in mind if your not an early riser (though most people in the Lakes are up and about) Anything you need replenishing in the room you just ask for and it’s there by the time you get back. We were in room 1, extremely good sized, bed was a double & very comfy but we are only 5ft9 & feet at the bottom, not a problem but maybe check if there are longer beds in other rooms if you are tall. There’s parking for 4 cars outside property & then a pass for the local car park 1 min walk away… go with this option if you are out and about in your vehicle during the day as it’s easier to get in and out of. Location for town is 5-9 min walk. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely B & B!

Lovely b & b, very clean and comfortable. Owners were very welcoming and breakfast was perfect. Great location; just a short walk into the centre of Ambleside.
