This property has great karma, a feel-good cottage that guests enjoy time and again! Superbly sited on Western Bay in Trenton, this terrific shorefront getaway with stairs to the beach offers a living room fireplace and wonderful views of Mount Desert Island and the mountains of Acadia National Park from nearly every room. Whatever the season, this upscale home on Western Bay offers stairs to the beach, a living room fireplace, and views of Mt. Desert Island and the mountains of Acadia National Park. It's an ideal vacation getaway with a shore setting just three miles from the head of Mt. Desert island and all that Acadia and the Island villages have to offer. Parties of up to 4 people will have use of two master bedroom suites located in the main part of the house and parties of 5 to 8 will have additional access to a lower-level third bedroom, bath, and family room.

Please note: Advertised rates include the upper two levels of the home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The additional person fee, for groups larger than 4, adds on a "Lower Level" of the house with a third bedroom, living area, bath, etc. Please inquire for further clarification.

FIRST FLOOR: Enjoy breakfast in the cozy kitchen nook, or at the island bar, both offering seating for three. The well-stocked Kitchen features granite countertops and high-end stainless steel appliances and a wine cooler. Laundry facilities are sleekly located in the kitchen as well as a discrete folding ironing board accessible in a kitchen drawer. With cathedral ceilings and plenty of windows showcasing the shore, the home's Great Room boasts a comfortable seating area with a stone fireplace and a Dining Area with a large table for up to 8 people. Also on the main level is a Master Suite with Queen bed that enjoys access to a covered deck with a private entrance and Bathroom with shower only. A tidy Office completes the first floor.

SECOND FLOOR: Upstairs is a second Master Suite with King bed and private balcony. Here one also finds a cozy Sitting Area designed for great airflow with cross ventilation, a Full Bathroom with a separate shower and deep-soaking bathtub and a flat screen television.

LOWER LEVEL (Separate space available for an additional fee): A finished basement offers a 12' x 24' Family Room with flat-screen TV as well as a third Bedroom with two Double beds and a full Bathroom with a combined tub and shower and double vanity. You may rent this space, but it is NOT included in the rental. If you're a party of 4 or fewer, the base rate is for use of the two primary bedrooms and baths only (A washer and dryer are available in this space for washing larger loads to any tenant, not just those renting the lower level).

OUTDOOR SPACES: Small deck with high-top table for four, bar cart, and charcoal grill. Separate partially covered private decks with chairs of the first and second-floor bedrooms A set of stairs takes you to the rocky beach in front of the home.

AMENITIES: High-end kitchen appliances include a downdraft cooking stove. High-speed Internet. Radiant floor heating. Various ceiling fans, as well as window air conditioning units in each of the two upper bedrooms, and those who pay for use of the finished basement area, will find the lower level family room is equipped with a central air type system. 220V Electric Car charging station available.

What a perfect location for exploring MDI and Downeast Maine. Beautiful views and a private beach with warm calm waters. Our kids loved having their own space to hangout after the day’s adventures. The kitchen has everything you need and the patio table and dining room are lovely places to enjoy a meal after a day of exploring. The home is really close to route 3 and Ellsworth so exploring the greater Downeast area was really easy. Highly recommend!

One of the nicest overall VRBOs I've stayed in. Good location and a clean, well stocked home. My only suggestions would be to get an air conditioner for the main room (bedrooms have ac).

Sea Gypsy was the perfect location for our family trip to Maine. It is just a short drive away from Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and more. The house has everything you could possibly need and is in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 week stay at this comfortable home. Everything was in order and very well-appointed. The kitchen had all the equipment we could possibly need and the host provided easily-findable appliance instructions. We especially appreciated the restaurant recommendations (the Travelin’ Lobster was the best!) The view across the bay to Acadia National Park was spectacular, and we enjoyed watching the sunrises/sunsets and the changing tide out the back picture windows. The home is in a quiet area, but just 15 minutes from town and good restaurants, and near all the outdoor activities we wanted to do. Highlights of our stay were hiking various trails in Acadia (get a good trail map from the visitor center), the view from the top of Cadillac Mountain, watching a young porpoise surf the incoming tide near Frazer point on the Schoodic peninsula and a trip to Quoddy Head State Park which is the easternmost point of land in the US. And then coming back to relax at the house to watch the sunset. We even learned to play dominoes from the available games. We would love to come back again.

The house was well stocked with all the essentials such as paper goods, etc. The kitchen is a cook’s dream. The scenery is beautiful out of the dinning room area. The house is located in quiet and pleasant environment. I. Addition the house is conveniently located to all types of activities such as hiking, restaurants, winery, etc.

Great time in Maine and a wonderful stay at the Sea Gypsy! Exactly as listed and everything you could ever need was supplied, the most well stocked VRBO I have ever stayed at! Comfortable home with beautiful views. Close to all activities but far from noise and crowds. Beautiful sunrise views. Will be back!

The views alone are worth the stay. So many plusses! The house has so many wonderful things to look at in it that its entertaining. The kitchen is wonderful for any cook. A very quiet "lane". The ocean is calling you here, for a walk on the rocky beach or just sitting outside/inside doesn't matter because its so relaxing just gazing at the water no matter where you are. The moon and the sun come up where you can see "everything". You won't want to leave even though the location is such that Bar Harbor or Acadia or Southwest Harbor are all just a short drive away. This is one of our favorite rents and we have rented many. Thanks so much!

This has been one of our favorite properties that we have stayed at. We had a lot of plans for our trip but found ourselves wanting to just hang around the house! There was plenty of room for all of us and everything was spotless. This location is perfect for heading into Acadia. The view is great from the house and the access to the beach was great! We would definitely stay here again!

A clean, spacious, well appointed property nestled in a wooded, secluded area. This property provides a spacious family gathering room that overlooks the water, known as “The Narrows”. It offers amenities and comforts not often afforded by similar listings. The kuerig coffee system was a plus, along with the variety of owner supplied k-cups. Every morning we observed harbor seals, eagles, humming birds and hawks just outside the family room windows. We kayaked the bay as it is well protected from the occasional winds. This is a well connected small country neighborhood and the neighbors are delightful. One of our favorite vacation rentals.

Property was beyond expectations. Super clean, comfortable, well decorated, great view! Can't say enough good things about Sea Gypsy. It is in a very quiet area-only noise is from occasional airplane and the birds. Kitchen has every tool/cooking item you can think of. Beds were comfortable. Slept with the windows and doors open (all have screens, even the regular doors have retractable ones). Basic necessities in the house-tea, sugar, coffee filters, salt/pepper. House has many interesting details and decorations. It is the best VRBO I've stayed in. Son loved having the downstairs bedroom/bath/sitting room to himself. My mother loved the bedroom on the main floor-only 4 steps up for her. House has many interesting details and decorations. It is the best VRBO I've stayed in. Just a note-it is not in Bar Harbor or on Mount Desert Island, It is 24 minutes from Bar Harbor but just a short (less than 10 minutes) drive to restaurants and grocery store in Trenton. This was not an issue to us since we were out exploring during the day. Sugar Bakery had great muffins and blueberry desserts (5 minutes). The Chart Room was also great (17 minutes). Stairs down to the beach are very steep and there is a ramp at the very bottom. Huge rocky beach to explore at low tide.

I had the good fortune to visit friends staying at Sea Gypsy a few years ago, so I could not believe my good luck when I saw there was a vacancy for four days in July. I quickly (and easily) booked the property and invited close friends to share the accommodations with us. We (and our friends) could not be more pleased. The property is just as I remembered it...and just as it appears in the online listing. Wonderful waterfront views, access to the beach, top of the line appliances, comfortable furnishings. We did not rent the basement (an option if more guests need more room), but the two separate bedrooms with full baths were perfect. They have window air conditioner units, but we did not need them thanks to the Maine weather. We were able to take our standard poodle (which is one of the reasons that we rented the place). We used the charcoal grill one night, and availed ourselves of the Trenton Lobster Pound on another night. The owners provide lots of information on things to do, places to eat, etc. If you're lucky enough to find a vacancy that fits your schedule, book this place. You can't go wrong! One last thing...the property manager was very helpful and responded quickly to all of our queries. She just made the entire week a pleasure for all of us!
