Amazing location for a family. The other room was too far away for my kids to sleep comfortably, but the pull out couch was very cozy for them. We enjoyed the fire pit and grill.
5.0
Clean and equipped with everything we needed for our 4 night stay. About 2 blocks to the beach. It was a good home base for our first trip to the Oregon coast.
4.0
House in a great location and quick walk to the beach. It was a bit small and a little challenging at night with the kids sleeping on the pull out couch in the main room but we had a great time.

This rental was clean, welcoming, and very charming. We appreciated the fenced back yard and dog-specific towels for our puppy's first trip to the beach! The kitchen had everything we needed and we were pleased that the hot tub was simple to work. We could walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes which we took advantage of several times a day. We would definitely book again!

The house is soooo close to a wonderful walking beach. The house floor plan is open kitchen, dining. living which makes the space airy, light and made for togetherness. We loved the window/doors along the back. The kitchen was efficient and well appointed. We loved the mermaid bathroom!!

Loved this house! We all really enjoyed our time here in Rockaway Beach- the house is adorable and has a great yard with hot tub and fire pit. We also loved the easy beach access. Only complaint is that there were no screens in any of the windows- not a huge deal but didn’t feel totally comfortable having open windows the whole time.
3.0
Mold in the bathroom, minor issue with ants, and the rug in the center of the room needed to be removed due to a HUGE tripping hazard. Some maintenance things to fix.
There is another review that gave it a 1 star and addressed a few things, and although they are true, it's a house by the beach you can stay in. 👍 There's also a hot tub
5.0
The house was clean and very well equipped with all of the cooking necessities & towels. This was a good place to bring our dogs as they have many "dog" towels available to use for wiping feet, etc. Great open plan and large dining room table which is good for puzzles and crafts. The hot tub was hot but was quirky to operate with the small buttons which didn't work easily. The bathrooms were clean, nicely remodeled and modern, however very little counter and hanging space for toiletries, towels etc.
We didn't use the cool rec room off of the carport but would have made a great separate space if we had more people. Other reviews said that it had a funny smell, but we only noticed a non-offensive cedar wood smell. We would gladly stay here again in the future.

Cute little town, relaxing atmosphere, nicely appointed house, beautiful beach. We would definitely go back.
4.0
The main house was great, two comfortable bedrooms and shared spaces.
Our 4 kids were excited to stay in the exterior bonus room, but on arrival the room was not clean. Surfaces/beds covered in dust, larger particles/material, and spider webs. We spent significant time cleaning, but ultimately the kids slept in the living room. This left us feeling cramped for space as a group of 8.

Overall the house was great. Maybe a little more cleaning and tidying up of the lot but overall it worked really well for us. It was super close to the beach with a quick 5 minute walk to the access. Quick drive to town for food and drinks. Hot tub worked well and had everything we needed for a beach get away!

We enjoyed our stay at Beach Modern Retreat. The distance from the beach was convenient, the kids toys were a bonus and the size of the house was nice. The major downside was that there are no screens in any windows or doors leaving the house quite musty. The detached room had quite the smell to it. We couldn't leave windows/doors open without getting bugs so it was a catch 22. I highly recommend screens are installed ASAP. With screens installed we would likely rent it again!

We had a great weekend away with friends in Rockaway. The location is just a block from the beach, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking and the hot tub was a treat. We loved the extra bonus room for a kids hangout/sleeping area.

Loved this home!
We had such a wonderful stay at this home. Despite the rainy weather, we felt so relaxed and had so much fun here. The big closet of toys was a huge surprise and such a hit with my kiddos. This mcm really is my dream home :)

multiple things wrong!
Disarray, broken down, backed up shower, no firewood, dishwasher kept breaking at the box, weeks of dust under the beds and sofa (was discovered when something rolled under the bed . none of the blinds had an adjustment stick to open and close (one blind was half open and half closed, back yard was filled with junk, cushions were left outdoors to rain on, closet door was hanging sideways in bedroom, refrigerator doors looked like it had, literally, fallen off a truck it was bent so backly, (not attractive to look at, the hose outside had a huge hole in it and when we tried to hose off the sand off of us it prayed a 3 foot wide spray all over us, ( it was not even rolled up, TOTAL LACK OF CARE FOR THE RENT WE HAD TO PAY. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT RENT THIS HOUSE UNTIL THESE THINGS ARE FIXED.
There were plenty of towels

Fenced backyard for the dog; quick walk to a great beach.

Good Location
The house has a great location 2 blocks from the beach. There is a beach access trail which makes it a quick and easy walk. The home itself is also a quick trip into Rockaway and very close to the Jetty for crabbing. The street is very quiet. Good closet of games. Lots of towels available. Check-in and check-out went smoothly.
The main area of the house is great. Our group consisted of two adults and two teens. The big dining room table and the large sofa were great.
The house itself is nice enough, as other reviewers have stated, just not well maintained for a vacation rental. For example, toilet seat loose and sliding off to side, toilet paper mount not secured well to wall and tilting off wall. When we booked it back in January or February, it was when the hot tub was listed as an amenity so it must have been working at that time. Currently, it is not working.
No one slept in the detached area -no beds in there, just sleeping mats on benches? Ants (very tiny pavement ants) are on the floor and kitchen counters. The yard looked better after maintenance had mowed while we were there. It could use some TLC in the back.
Hints: There are no laundry pods or dishwasher pods, if you are driving from the area, bring a few from home or plan on purchasing a few after you arrive.

Disappointed from the start
The property and space were fine, but maintenance was unacceptable. Bathroom fan didn’t work, toilet seat was broken, dishes were dirty in the cupboards and the ants were terrible. We reached out every day for help and got lots of kind words over those five days but no action. The detached room was unusable due to some unidentified smell. The space was nice and I wish the comforter wasn’t stained and their wasn’t sand in the chairs and ants everywhere, but unfortunately their cleaning team ans maintenance staff let us down.

Overall great but a couple of issues.
Pluses:
The house itself is nice. Great for a gathering, big living room, big table. The deck in the back yard was nice.
The house was clean and orderly. The two bedrooms are very nice, beds are good.
There was a fireplace but we didn't use so I can't comment on it.
Kitchen had good stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and coffee pot, all clean and in good working order. Kitchen was well supplied with plates, glasses cups and silverware.
A great closet full of toys for the kids.
Pretty quick access to the beach and some beach toys and stuff there.
Overall it's a great place to stay.
Minuses:
There was an ant problem. Large carpenter ants dropping from the ceiling onto the kitchen counters. Also in other places throughout the house.
The kitchen was spottily equipped for cooking. One tiny pot
no frying pans at all. Lots of bowls and baking dishes. We were successful only because my daughter has a house close by and we could borrow from her. There was exactly one soap pod for the dishwasher.
We were under the impression there would be a hot tub. There was but it was useless.
The back yard other than the deck was a mess, a rotting picnic table and wood scraps.
The spare back bedroom is probably great for kids but not for adults. Just a couple of big benches with pads and a folding futon. We didn't quite catch that from the description.
We were treated one day to over an hour of noisy yard maintenance which seemed to go on a lot longer than necessary.
Conclusion:
If the ant problem is fixed and the back yard cleaned up, as long as you bring all the cooking gear you'll need and you're not expecting a hot tub, it is a great place for one or two families with younger kids.
I wanted to give this a four stars but the ants literally falling into the food was a deal breaker.

Excellent beach vacation spot
This is a mid century modern home with well equipped kitchen, working fireplace, backyard deck, small fenced-in yard. In a few spots it could use some TLC but is overall a very comfortable and functional house with a big central room, and most important it is a short walk through the dunes to a gorgeous uncrowded Oregon beach. Recommended.

OK for the price
There were issues that we tried to deal with while we were there, but it just didn't work out too positively. The 3rd bedroom 'detached' sleeping area is a carport extension, no actual access to the house, and the heat didn't work, the tv was not set up and there was a single floor heater with a 3ft cord. It was a cold weather week, so no one was able to sleep in there. The oven still doesn't work without having to reset the breaker (see review from Feb) and the hot tub was not working (after 3 days got the temp all the way up to 61deg!). Please note that one bedroom has a skylight right above the bed, so be prepared to wake up as soon as its light outside, no way to block it. To top it off, we had a massive carpenter ant infestation that was a known issue. After calling and calling we found out they did 'treat' it the day before we arrived, but it was still a terrible mess, and they didn't give us any notice. The house itself if nice enough, just not well maintained for a vacation rental.

Cute place!
Great location! It was missing propane for the grill and I thought the hot tub was included but I guess not? It is right by the beach though and if you’ve got a gang of children there’s plenty of room in their garage to host a small classroom full.

Lovely, Restful Getaway
The style and flow of the house are great. Our group of five (two adults, two teens, one little) loved the big dining table that had room for us to have a puzzle going at one end and still have space to eat dinner at the other. The kitchen is one of the best outfitted I've ever had in a rental (although a few more sets of silverware would be nice): plenty of bowls, pots and pans, etc. The tilework in the bathroom, kitchen, and around the fireplace is really fun, and all of us put the big soaking tub to use. So relaxing! Easy walk to the beach. As others have mentioned, the third bedroom is accessed either through a sliding glass door off the deck or through an outside entrance via the carport. While the setup in the room is great for kids (folding futon + lots of bench beds along the walls), unless an adult is sleeping out in that space with them, it might feel too detached for comfort. It was, however, *perfect* for teens!

Beach Modern Retreat
The house was nice. Kitchen was fully stocked with all you would need for cooking. Couple issues. Although the house has hard floors I would not consider this wheelchair accessible. All entries have a minimum of two steps and wheelchair would not fit into either bathroom. The fenced backyard was nice for our dogs though. There is a problem with the oven. The brain to the stove kept shutting down. We had to have maintenance come and he flipped the breaker. We had to do this at least 4 times to get a batch of fries done. Lighting is way too limited in the third room that is off to the side disconnected from the house. We would only stay again because it was good for our dogs but not with our wheelchair guest.

This midcentury house is good for a few days away at the coast. We were here during christmas when it was rainy and there was a storm. It would be much better as a summer getaway.Pros:- A short walk from the beach- Decent internet speed to stream media- Great backyard/hot tub- TV has chromecast so you can stream from personal devices- Books, puzzles, boardgames if you run out of your own- Big table for puzzles/gamesCons:- Original midcentury baseboard heaters, keeps the house warm but makes a clicking sound measured by my apple watch at 57 db. This is unfortunate when you're attempting to sleep at night. - TV is advertised as large but is quite small- Pillows, just bring your own- If you are a hot drink enthusiast, bring your favorite mug- Hot tub is great for about 30-45 minutes, then starts to get cold- When we turned on the baseboard heater in the room to the left of the bathroom, it made an electrical smell and set the fire alarm off. We turned it off and used the other room.

Great house, but...
The house was well-equipped (excellent hot tub and BBQ; good variety of kitchen equipment, TV, games, etc.), but the fact that the third bedroom is unheated (portable heaters provided) and accessed via the garage (have to go outside, e.g. to go to the bathroom in the night) SHOULD BE IN THE PROPERTY DESCRIPTION. It's a great 2-bedroom house, and might be fine in the summer when it's not 38 degrees.

Great location, fantastic fully stocked house
We really enjoyed our time in Rockaway Beach, the house was fantastic and had all the amenities we needed. Everything was in working order, clean and ready to use. We loved the fresh ocean air, the beautiful hot tub and the comfortable space. Thank you.

Great Place
Really cool house! Really loved the fireplace, made for some cozy nights. Kitchen was well equipped and perfect for a couple big meals. Home is a 5 min walk to the beach access and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Hot tub was great!

Great location, appliance issues
This is a great location that's an easy walk to the beach. The good points: very clean, new sheets and lots of new towels, well-stocked kitchen that was only missing baking sheets. Most rentals have horrible knives, this one had a nice set of chef's knives. We were disappointed there were no sheet pans.
Cons: the third bedroom appears to have been a utility room off the carport and could only be accessed by going outside. Our youngest daughter slept on the couch in the main room. The stove is an older electric glass top version which is on its last legs. We could only get one burner to work on anything but full blast or barely on. The grill is also barely working and nearly rusted out. We used pliers to adjust the flame. Given the circumstances, we planned to cook all of our meals at the house and these annoyances were frustrating.
First world problems to be sure. But in the age of Covid renting, I think it's important to be able to hunker down in a new place and cook for yourself. All in all, a good place in a great location. Rockaway beach stretches for a half mile to the north and a mile + to the south. Fantastic for running the dog and enjoying the sunset.
Also note - Vacasa manages the property. Our lockbox code didn't work when we arrived. After sitting on hold for almost an hour trying to reach someone, we sent a DM to their Twitter account and immediately got a response and the correct lockbox code. Something to keep in mind if you have any issues.

Cozy home
Our family had a great time at the beautiful nearby beach and relaxing back at the rental. The home was well stocked with items we would need and everything was labeled and easy to find. Moreover, the home was sparkling clean and just as it was advertised.

Just meh....
I loved the fireplace and the fire pit, we put them to good use. Beds were comfortable. As for over all cleanliness it sufficient, not pristine by any means. Many of the amenities we found not in working condition. Jets in the indoor tub, hot tub never got hot, shower also took forever to get hot. Got a call at the very last minute to be told the dishwasher was not working and would be replaced soon. Spent most of the afternoon washing dishes. All in all we made the best of it. I just wish Vacasa would have upgraded us to a place nicer with working amenities, or fixed them before hand, or offered a price break or refund or something for the inconveniences. I contacted them several times without a response. I would rate them very low based on their lack of ....there was lots of lack .... Leaky sinks and All.

Beach Vacation
This was a great home for our family. Kids had a blast and the hot tub was awesome on the wet days.

Good place for young family
We really had a great time. If you are a family with young kids, it is great. They had a closet FULL of toys and games. Loved the hot tub and fire pit. The ocean is so close....we walked there and it took just a couple minutes.
The reason for 4 stars.....
When we arrived, the separate room from the house looked like someone was sleeping there. Sliding door was open 3 inches and bed was messy with dirty sheets. I had to vaccum the floor because of all the pine needles tracked in from whoever slept there last.
The rest of the house was clean. I think maybe someone left the slider door unlocked and maybe a random person might of found that out and just helped themselves to the free room. I really don't know for sure but that's just what it looked like. Our bed was very uncomfortable in the largest room. Felt like a brick. But the kids slept well. Other than that, it was a good stay.
5.0
Kids room is detached! Beach is beautiful!
The house was great. Clean, easy communication with the management over some questions /concerns. The hot tub was low on water and very mirky water when we arrived. They addressed it first thing the following morning. Beach is a close easy walk a block away and very beautiful, quiet with a lot of driftwood.
The kids room with all the bunks is detached from the house. The sleeping mats /mattresses were easy brought into the living room for our under 6's to sleep closer by.
BBQ in great working order. Firepit in back a big hit - Beach itself was far too windy to have a fire. Overall a great place.
4.0
Comfortable and great for kids
We loved how many fun toys were available for our daughter to play with. There's a great open plan in the main common area and a big dining table, where we spread out and enjoyed a jigsaw puzzle. The third bedroom is more of a bunk room for kids in a converted garage with a fold out futon and bunks lining the walls. Lots of bedding provided to sleep a crowd here; I would have loved sharing this room with cousins or friends as a child. The only drawback is that there's no baseboard in heating in this room--though a couple of portable heaters are provided--and the carpet is quite worn and stained.

Fantastic all around!
