Herrliche Tage mit Sicht auf die Felsen von Vik

Geräumiges und gemütliches Zimmer mit Aussicht Richtung Vik. Wir konnten nachts das Polarlicht vom Zimmer aus sehen. Alles sehr unkompliziert. Feines Essen und zuvorkommender Service.

Nice hotel, good facility with comfortable rooms outside Vik

Nice big room, lovely bathroom, huge shower, extreme convenient double bed. Big variety breakfast. Excellent buffet dinner for acceptable price.

Different functions in different buildings, like reception, rooms, restaurant and wellness. Very much outside town.

Petite déception au début, mais bien rattrapé par la direction de l'hôtel.

L'emplacement est superbe

Problème dans la description de la chambre sur Booking. Annoncée sous forme d'une suite avec une chambre séparée et un salon, mais en fait, seulement une grande pièce façon dortoir. Après discussion avec l'accueil, ils nous ont proposé de nous donner pour la deuxième nuit une chambre supplémentaire.

Eines der besten Hotels unserer Reise

Es war alles super. Der Empfang war super freundlich. Die Zimmer haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Mein Mann hat die Hot Tubs genutzt und war sehr zufrieden. Abends hat mein Mann a la Carte gegessen und meine Tochter und ich haben uns am Buffet bedient und waren mit der Auswahl sehr zufrieden. Wir würden wieder dort übernachten

Très beau mais pas toujours bien fréquenté

La chambre, spacieuse, avec une grande baie vitrée et vue sur la nature!

Le sauna et le spa: ils étaient très bien, mais non régulés: de ce fait, un groupe s’y est installé, et pendant au moins 1 heure, ils ont squatté bruyamment les installations : j’ai fini par lâcher l’affaire, et d’autres personnes ont fait comme moi…

Best night of sleep ever and saw the northern lights.

The best 2 nights sleep! Very quiet and comfortable room. Saw the northern lights right over the hotel! Great breakfast especially the DIY waffle maker! Very nice evening meal too. Restaurant wasn’t cheap but the quality was very high. Just outside Vik where there is supermarket, fuel and shops.

Only let-down was the hot tub (which was more a cool tub) and the sauna is like a garden shed. We did not bother using it the 2nd night :(

I love cozy, comfortable, clean places that have a charm & personality to them and Hotel Katla is that place.

This hotel was so cozy, clean, comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend it. The breakfast was amazing!

Great location, great facilities, friendly staff.

This hotel is a little out of town (like, maybe a 7 minute drive, which is nothing, really) so it's very quiet, which was great. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, the facilities & room were comfortable, & the staff for friendly. Breakfast was included & it was a very generous selection. We'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Not too sure I can think of any negatives. Nothing really worth mentioning, anyway. The walls on the rooms seemed a little thin as we could hear our neighbours conversations, but it was nothing that kept us awake at night.

Great Hotel outside of Vik

The room was very comfortable as well as having a spacious bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and they had a great breakfast buffet with fruits, baked goods, and traditional Icelandic foods. Staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed the installations at the site.

Hotel Katla is outside of Vik, about five minutes away. We have previously traveled to Iceland before and have always stayed in Vik so we were a little surprised it was outside of the town when we were heading to the hotel but it was not a longs way and you could quickly drive up and down the main road to Vik. The Hotel feels more private and helps getting a good night's rest.

Relaxing, perfect setting and a great place to stay in Vik!

Beautiful hotel with lots of different outbuildings that all seem to have a beautiful view attached. Great spa access with an heated outdoor tub, which I can imagine are great for looking out for the northern lights! The perfect distance from Vik as we like it a little quieter. Great big windows too!

We had to leave at 6am to head over to snowmobiling in the south east on Vatnajökull, so we were unable to make breakfast - I’d have liked this to start a little earlier than 7am considering a lot of people use Vik as a stopping point too! But the hotel is incredibly beautiful :)

Simple, but clean and comfortable.

Facilities were clean, bed was warm and comfortable, bathroom and shower were good. Breakfast was great, coffee at breakfast was much better than the instant in the room.

One soap for both hair and body.

Muy bonito

El hotel en si esta muy bien, desayuno muy muy variado, jacuzzi pequeño para la cantidad de gente que hay, siempre estaba lleno, las chicas de recepción hablaban español, cosa que se agradece. Habitación muy grande y el baño privado muy bonito.

Lo que menos me gusto fue el precio, lo vi muy elevado para lo que ofrecen.

We booked and paid for a room for 2 adults and one child, 11 years old. When we arrived at the hotel there was a queen size twin bed in our room but no extra bed or sofa bed for our son. When asking for an extra bed they said they would charge us an extra 65 Euros but it did not matter as they did not have any spare extra beds. This was very annoying. When I book and pay for a room for 3 people, I expect 3 beds.
