Long called "The Summer Place", this secluded retreat off the Kalamazoo River is IDEAL YEAR ROUND. The Summer Place is a short walk to downtown Saugatuck, filled with shops, galleries, restaurants and nightlife. Nearby is the spectacular Oval Beach. There could not be a better place to visit.

Wonderful location and cute cottage that was perfect for my husband, myself and our dog. We appreciate the willingness to allow pets because Kobe loved it! Place was very clean and quiet. The towels are some of the softest I have felt. We loved it and cannot wait to go back!

This property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to downtown but away from the hustle and bustle of Saugatuck. The cottage was clean and offered unexpected amenities. The host was pleasant and welcoming.

This cottage was wonderful. The location really can't be beat if you're coming to enjoy the town of Saugatuck. It was an easy walk everywhere in town. The reserved parking space in the driveway was appreciated since parking can be difficult in town, especially during a holiday weekend (we stayed over the 4th of July). Janet sent easy access instructions ahead of time, but was home when we arrived so introduced herself and showed us the space. Note it is a guest house right behind the main house, so Janet and her husband are close by. It still felt very private. They were very welcoming to me and my husband, as well as our two small dogs. Janet provided lots of small snacks and drinks in the cottage. Everything was impeccably furnished and extremely clean. I'd highly recommend and would stay again!

Super clean, set super close to water. Short walk to all the shops and bars and restraunts. Saugatuck is very busy with tourists and parking is a nightmare to find. This was the perfect place to stay without needing our car to go enjoy all the downtown and waterfront has to offer! Host had a day parking pass to Oval Beach waiting in our room which was greatly appreciated!

What a little gem this property is! It is a small and cozy little studio, which was perfect for our getaway from the kids. My wife and I loved every minute, including the ability to bring our dog along, who became a town favorite in Saugatuck. The location is ideal, allowing you an easy walk to everything the town has to offer, including all of the great shops and restaurants. Not having to worry about driving/parking is a MASSIVE perk of this rental. There is not a full kitchen in the rental, which wasn't an issue for us, so take advantage of all of the great places to eat in town. Janet made us feel more like house guests than renters! She goes above and beyond with little touches to make you feel welcome and taken care of. This is one of the first rentals we've ever had where we debated just booking the same week in advance for the next year. It was great!

Wonderful private getaway within walking distance of downtown Saugatauk and close drive to Felt Mansion and State Park in walking trails. Hosts are welcoming and have thought of everything. Very comfortable getaway!

The cottage was very sweet; well supplied and cozy and so close to downtown Saugatuck. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. The cottage is more of a “studio” than a 1- bedroom which was a surprise as we thought the bedroom would be separate, but it was not a problem. A couple would be happy there!

The cottage is really close to everything in Saugatuck. The hosts were wonderful and had thought through the small things like having coffee, snacks, and water for guests. Really enjoyable stay!

Came up for the tulips, but so glad we stayed here and made the most of Saugatuck. Delicious food and so close to everything we enjoyed walking every single day. Our dog Snickers also got to enjoy his first trip and explore. Janet was a lovely host, had snacks and drinks for us and doggie bags for snick. Definitely recommend staying here and would stay again. Very clean and so quiet, loved the privacy of it. Hopefully we can come back soon!

My partner and I love this place-clean, cozy, quiet, comfortable and has everything you’d ever need. However, the best thing about this place are the owners. They make the stay so great with their welcome and interest in our wandering without being overbearing. We will always go back there because of them.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Janet’s cottage. She is very warm and friendly and she had cookies waiting for us in the cottage that were really yummy! The pictures don’t it it justice, the cottage is very charming and well decorated and the view outside the patio doors was lovely and made it secluded and private. The location is perfect, short walk to everything. Loved it.

Really clean cozy and inviting private cottage with just what the 2 of us and our small dog needed. Very nice shady property surrounded us; loved that we could walk or bike everywhere. Janet could not have been nicer or more helpful and was so welcoming! We plan to stay again in the future, as there is lots to see and do in the Saugatuck area!

This was our first time visiting Saugatuck. It was a perfect spot for my fiancé, dog and myself. We loved exploring the area and were able to walk to everything in Saugatuck. Janet was kind and helpful. It was an easy check in/ check out process and property was cozy and clean!

What a fabulous little cottage and location. Best of all was the hospitality of the host Janet. She greeted us when we checked in and provided fresh water and a treat for our dog. She was so helpful - felt like staying with family! Very clean and so well stocked. Would give her a 10 star review!!!

This property is A+++Janet met us upon arrival and could not have been more welcoming. The cottage is lovely, spotless, and cozy. The owners go over and beyond anticipating what you might need even providing snacks, coffee pods, and any toiletries that might have been forgotten. We highly recommend. If you don’t stay there, you are missing a precious little nugget of Saugatuck. ❤️

Location of property was great and cottage was perfect for two adults and small dog. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants as well as reserved parking. Janet and Fred provided us with plenty of info and things to do in Saugatuck. Janet even baked cookies to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely stay again during our next visit to Saugatuck.

The property is well maintained and just as advertised. Janet greeted us with wonderful hospitality, a well stocked refrigerator and snacks, and plenty of coffee. If the weather has cooperated we would’ve used the deck and outside sitting area more. But since it was colder and raining occasionally we used the love seat and sitting area inside to talk and enjoy some downtime. Great time.

The Summer Place has it all - charm, comfort and location! This was our second visit to the Summer Place and it won’t be our last! Our hosts, Fred and Janet, we’re so gracious and treated us like family. They made sure we had everything we needed and we appreciated all the extra touches like snacks, drinks and even delicious muffins when we arrived! We had a wonderful week and look forward to coming to Saugatuck and The Summer Place next year and years to come!

I stayed here with my husband and seven-year-old daughter, and it worked out perfectly. The location is fantastic; we could walk to absolutely everything in downtown Saugatuck, and yet it was still very private and quiet. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and sweet with my daughter. She was impressed with all of the generous snacks they provided. Everything we could have possibly ever needed was in the room, they had thought of everything. The pull-out couch was a great for a seven-year-old, and the arrangement of the room provided a little privacy as we slept. Highly recommend!
