Gut bis auf die Zwischenfälle Boiler kaputt Pool ausgelaufen, Stromausfall ganze Woche.
Alles sehr verwittert vom Meerwasser, keine Pflegeprodukte, Klimageräte stinken, unbequeme Kinderbetten, Pool kleiner als Gedacht.

Es war wunderbar, wir verstehen die negativen Bewertungen wirklich nicht. Die Villa und der Ausblick sind wunderschön und mit der Pide Taxi App ist man günstig und schnell im Zentrum. (Wer sich über mangelnde Parkplatze beschwert, sollte sich grundsätzlich vor seinen Reisen einfach über die Lage informieren und nicht im Nachhinein beschweren.) Alles was man braucht, kann man sich günstig mit Glovo vor die Tür liefern lassen.

Gefallen hat mir, das die Unterkunft weit weg vom Touristentrubel liegt, inmitten einem Einheimischen Viertel, wo Gran Canaria noch ursprünglich ist. Dennoch ist man zu Fuß in ca. 20 Minuten in der Altstadt Las Palomas und mit dem Bus noch schneller. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf den Atlantik ist großartig und die Matratze im Master Schlafzimmer ist sehr bequem. Die Küche ist gut bestückt, nichts was man bräuchte fehlt dort. Der Betonboden und die Einrichtung sind modern und stylisch. Wer sich über feuchte Luft beschwert hat Recht. Jedoch muss diesen Personen im Vorfeld klar sein das sie nur 5 Meter vom Atlantik entfernt sind und die Gicht direkt auf die Promenade trifft. Das macht ja den Reiz aus und ist unvermeidbar. Ich bin der Meinung das diese Unterkunft ein Juwel sein könnte, vorausgesetzt der Besitzer würde Wert darauf legen das seine Gäste sich wohlfühlen. Demnach bekäme diese Unterkunft von mir die beste Bewertung, wenn die negativen Dinge abgestellt würden. Mehr dazu im Teil, der mir nicht gefallen hat.
Da ich auch selber meine Unterkunft an Touristen vermiete, ist es für mich der schönste Lohn wenn meine Gäste glücklich sind. Der Besitzer hat offensichtlich Geld und Arbeit in die Unterkunft gesteckt. Schön wäre es aber wenn er dann auch weiterhin am Ball bleibt, auch negatives benennt und offen kommuniziert.
Die Fotos sind tatsächlich von einem Profi gemacht worden, mit Weitwinkel und perfekten Einstellungen. Ziel sollte es sein das die Gäste hinterher sagen, das die Unterkunft in Wirklichkeit besser aussieht wie auf den Fotos, nicht umgekehrt.
Der Besitzer sollte nicht sagen das es einen Pool gibt. Es ist ein Jacuzzi ohne sprudelndes Wasser. Wenn Menschen sich tatsächlich auf einen Pool freuen sind sie hinterher bitter enttäuscht. Er sollte auch sagen das die Schnellstraße hinter dem Haus verläuft, was deutlich hörbar ist und Menschen, die glauben das es hier sehr leise ist wiederum enttäuscht. Anschließend sollte zumindest eine Mappe im Haus ausliegen, in der es eine Erklärung gibt wie TV und Mobile Klimaanlage funktioniert, da Klimaanlage erst selbst im Fenster montiert werden muss und TV nicht nutzbar ist, es sei denn die Gäste verstehen spanisch.
Mich haben die negativen Aspekte nicht gestört aber es erklärt die Bewertungen der Gäste und das ist schade. Würden diese Dinge abgestellt, könnte die Unterkunft zwischen 9,0 -9,5 Punkten liegen und die Gäste wären glücklich. Wenn jedoch die negativen Kommentare sich über einige Jahre immer wiederholen, macht dies den Anschein das der Besitzer nicht an einer guten Bewertung interessiert ist. Schade, ich finde es könnte ein echter Geheimtipp sein.

The view from the roof terrace
The location wasn't the best place for a holiday, it is described as being on a marina. Which is nowhere near. The property is overlooked and attached at the side and the back. The motorway is very noisy behind the property and there was nowhere to park. The TV and wi-fi didn't work which has been mentioned in a few reviews. The bedroom was damp and all our clothes smelt of damp. The property is described as having a pool which is tiny and would be ok to dip your feet in but that was all and we never used it,

modern and right on the seafront .. a well designed property with plenty of space for 4 of us. kitchen was excellent and well equipped. the upstairs terrace is amazing. local restaurants are good.
slightly musty smell - lots of air fresheners dotted around. only a single portable air conditioning unit. tv remotes didn’t work. didn’t feel well cleaned - small pool is exactly that tiny. area wasn’t the greatest and was not easy to get parked near the property. shame about being so close to a noisy road as well. No bakery or supermarket nearby- you really need a car.

it was by the sea, close enough to local supermarkets and restaurants
the washing machine broke down so had to hand wash our clothes, the twin beds aren’t sustainable under much weight. the key to the Villa wouldn’t lock the front door properly, probably cause of the rust on and in the door lock. didn’t receive our deposit back which we were upset by as was told we would

Pool was good but nobody came to clean it in 10 days we were there
No information book to tell us about area did not know how to use air conditioning unit when contacted host to find out it was little to no use anywhere

Villa Marina is a nice property very close to the sea. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. The property is spacious with a kitchen, two bedrooms and a living room. It also has a terrace with a nice table and loungers. The pool is small, perfect if you travel with kids. The property is well equipped with all the things that you might need during your stay, however, not enough towels and NO shower gel or shampoo.
You can find nice restaurants very close to the property and the food was very good.
I would advise for a dehumidifier as the air is very humid and it gets smelly. It is a shame as the property is nice and it is understandable that it is an old building that got renovated and it is also close to the sea. Some furniture is dated like the sofa in the living room. A bit too dusty under the beds and furniture units. Some cutlery, as it hasn't been used, got a bit sticky so maybe worth checking them for cleaning.
Some people might find the property far from the city centre. We had a car so it was a compromise. It takes around maybe 20 minutes by bus to get to the Playa De Las Canteras which is the best one in the area as it has sunbeds and restaurants close enough.

The view!! The location was great, easy access by bus to Las Palmas and the airport. nice restaurants and a supermarket close by, all within 10mins walk.

Great accommodation for privacy in an authentic Spanish location which isn't commercialised. Local restaurants largely lovely. Kitchen very well equipped to self catering. Supermarkets about 20 minutes to walk and easy to get a taxi back.
Bathroom in property a little tired. People can see into living room at night even with blind closed. Minor feedback which doesn't affect this being a lovely accommodation.

For a quiet getaway away from the crowds, it was perfect. If you're looking for a busy place with loads of tourists this isn't for you.

Away from the main tourist area and in the hub of some excellent local fish restaurants. Lots of character. Great bus service - and cheap - both local and further afield, so didn't have to hire a car. Right on the sea front with great views from the balcony. Apartment well equipped, modern and comfortable.
