This is a Capitol Hill Stay property. Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 24 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1997. We use excellent cleaners and pay them a living wage (they are best in DC if you ask me). And we have a professional full time property manager. If this property doesn't work for you or isn't available for the dates you need please reach out to us and let us know and we can see if we can find a property that does work for you. You can also swap from one of our properties to another as available if needed. Additionally you can see all of our Airbnb listings at our Airbnb host profile page.
Exposed brick. Patio with outdoor seating. Great open layout. Queen bed in main bedroom, full futon in back bedroom. Washer/dryer in apartment. Terrific restaurants 1/2 block away. Metro and Union Station 3 blocks.
Separate entrance. Keyless entry so you can easily come and go.
COVID Safety - Unlike hotels or apartment building our properties have separate private entrances and individual Heat / AC and ventilation systems. There are no shared spaces like elevators. We use a professional cleaner between each guest. They use enhanced cleaning techniques including additional wipe-down of all touch surfaces using CDC-approved disinfectants.
Late check in is fine as this building has electronic locks.
Early movein is also fine IF we don't have another guest moving out that day. Also sometimes we can accommodate leaving luggage early and/or late but we can't guarantee it.
I'm more than happy to provide information on local attractions. We also provide a detailed Welcome Letter with relevant neighborhood information, plus an interactive Map with neighborhood recommendations.
Property is literally steps away from Stanton Park-great for pets! US Capitol police just around the corner patrolling the area.
Very walk friendly neighborhood with lots to do anytime of day.
3 blocks to Metro at Union Station. 1 block to bus stop. Restaurants and grocery a half block away.
Excellent spot to explore DC from. Great neighborhood for longer term stays as well.
A word about rates:
Since every booking is different the rates listed are an approximation. Rates are based on length of stay, specific dates needed, amenities requested, etc. Bookings less than 91 days are subject to the DC lodging tax of 15.95%. SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.
And of course it's a presidential election year.
Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.
Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

Great for family of 3-4
Everything was very good. GREAT location on the Hill, close to several small, local restaurants and coffee shops. Not too far to walk to Union Station, Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress. Very clean. Easy check-in process. Nice basement apartment for a family of 3-4.

Clean, quiet, and spacious
My husband, dog and I had a great stay over New Year’s. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and was exactly what we needed. Communication from the hosts was great. We drove, so having the parking spot was very convenient. We would definitely stay again.

Safe and walkable in-town experience
Our experience was very positive! The property is close to the Capitol, so we parked (in the space provide) and walked to locations during our entire stay. The apartment is cozy, safe and is spot-on regarding description and photos. Check-in and out procedures were easy to understand and follow.

Thanksgiving in the capital
This place was neat (unique)- loved the exposed brick, bed was comfy, lovely gas stove, and so close to attractions. We walked everywhere and only ubered once cuz it was late at night. Place was a bit dark and “old” (carpet etc.) since it is a basement apartment but very clean. Efficient heating and nice shower/tub. Would recommend it!

Will be back
First - communication was great start to finish. Everything was at least as good as represented. The combination of proximity to DC points of interest, combined with a feeling a safety and security for ourselves and our car (bonus for off street parking), makes this an outstanding property.

Perfect location in a great neighborhood!
We enjoyed our stay and the manager was quick in responding to our question and very helpful.

Great apt close to everything
Apartment is exactly as it appears in online listing and was clean with basic items. It was three blocks to the capitol or to Union Station to catch the metro or a train. The owners were good to work with. I would rent it again if I needed to be centrally located in DC.

Great place to stay!
We loved staying here! It was close to everything and we were able to walk/scooter to just about anything we wanted to see. The place was very cute and well cared for, just as the photos showed. We also loved using a company full of veterans. We would stay here or any one of their other places again in a heartbeat. We also loved how through they were and all of the little amenities that they left for us!

great location
Property was as advertised, clean and locally convienent. The parking option was ok but having to walk to and fro was a pain. Fortunately we only used the car two days in the week. The Circulator bus does not stop anywhere close to apt. so we had to walk 4 blocks to catch free bus to mall which on some very hot and humid days was rough.

Quiet Ground Level Apartment
This is a great place to stay - we enjoyed the convenience of this little gem. Nicely appointed and clean. If you intend on doing much cooking, know that there isn't a stocked pantry but there are pots and pans and place setting for four. There is a Whole foods within a ten minute walk, Union station is about five minutes away, and the capital and mall are about fifteen to twenty minutes away. If what you want to see are all the museums and monuments, this is the ideal location. We're from a small town in Oregon, where we get lots of quiet. Hotels can be risky on how quiet they are and of course your rooms are quit small. This apartment is really quiet, so we appreciated it even more. I would recommend you consider staying at this location!

Amazing location Great condo
The location and condition of the place were truly amazing. Took us about a 7 minute walk to get to Union Station (where hop on/off tours operate), about the same distance to the National Mall where all the museums are located. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this place!

Charming place, great location on The Hill close to everything
This place was perfect for my friend and me, because it had two bedrooms, a kitchen, and living/dining area with WiFi and TV. It was only a couple of blocks from a grocery, restaurants, and Union Station. We wished we could stay longer! Be aware, there is a no refunds policy.

Beautifully appointed apartment in historic home and neighborhood
My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights in this lovely apartment. All amenities as described were available. The home is in a beautiful residential area close to the metro and Union Station, as well as many restaurants.
Brian provided detailed information, and was very available and helpful regarding any of our questions or needs during our stay. I would definitely return next time we visit DC.

So Close to the Capital , we said over and over it was the perfect place!
For being in the heart of the City we felt very safe, any concerns we had were handled quickly. Would diffidently stay again.

Great Stay
Really loved the location to Union Station and being able to access all transportation. Kitchen supplies (coffee maker, grinder, dishes, and pans) were better than average. Appliances were new and very nice. Bed and linens good. If over 6' 2" might have headroom issues. Very nice grocery store within a block.
Would need padding for the futon for sleeping. I would highly recommend to friends.

A gem if you're lucky enough to rent it.
Our recent stay in DC was terrific. Communication with the owner was seamless and frequent. We did bring our pet, being across from Stanton park was great for our dog. The neighborhood was an exceptional surprise, families and professionals all around, historical and tree lined streets.
Heed the recommendation s regarding parking your vehicle if you drive to DC. We ended up pre-paying for the week, leaving our vehicle, and walking back to apt. Would recommend getting groceries immediately, (we drove to nearby Harris Teeter) then parking vehicle. The market nearby is convenient but expensive, it is great (the market) for a quick breakfast sandwich to start the day.
We found taxi's to be plentiful right outside our door. Uber in each case was slightly more expensive, we used Uber a couple of times, and found taxi's better, with the driver's more personable, and willing to share local lore, history and points of interest.
The apt was clean and cozy, (bring extra blankets) linens were for bedrooms, we did use the couch, would have liked and extra set of linens for that.
All the points about this apt, and locale, were accurate. We do intend to rent this apt again if it's available within the next 6 months, and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

Kitchen and bathroom have been updated, bedrooms have not been. Overall okay.
Our family was really only there for sleeping because we were out sightseeing during the day. It was fine for what we wanted but the beds were not comfortable. We walked to almost everything we wanted to see which was nice. It was long walks so you would not be able to do this with young children.

Convenient, clean and great support.
This location is very convenient to Union Station and has multiple restaurant options in easy walking distances. The mini-grocery is also in walking distance and has a nice selection (something between a convenience store and a full grocery). Ride share pick up is very easy right in front of the apartment. There is a bit of traffic noise, but nothing that impacted our ability to sleep comfortably.
We had one issue with the temperature in the back bedroom. It was one of those things that we would have just managed through, but Brian and his team do a great job of communicating and checking in regularly. When I mentioned the issue, Brian and his team took care of it promptly, and then followed up later to ensure all was well.
This was my first experience using a home share site, and have to say it was very easy and I will be exploring these options first before looking for hotels in the future. Brian and his team are great and I felt like I was staying at a friends home. They will be first on my list for future visits to DC and we have already referred them to others interested in a trip to this area.

Great location, clean property
Lovely partial basement property in a historic building and great location. Very clean. Management company easy to deal with.
Easy to get in and out of despite basement steps, very secure iron bars on all doors and windows. Good working heat, with extra blankets and pillows, good sized tv, lovely shower water pressure and temperature. Clean and modern kitchen.

Location, location, location
Wonderful place for our family of 4 to rest after a long day out touring DC sites. Located in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood that is across the street from a park and just a few blocks from the Capitol, metro, market, and restaurants. Beds are comfortable, and the apartment is tastefully decorated. Owner was very accessible and always responded right away (especially meaningful to us since he was able to book us the same day after the listing we had previously arranged for our week long stay turned out to be far from clean and in an undesirable location). We had a wonderful trip and loved being able to call such a charming place our home away from home for the week. We would gladly return next time we are in town.

Charming, Spacious, Safe, Dog Friendly
This place is perfect. Beautiful old Capitol Hill at its finest. The property is walking distance to Union station, the capitol building, Eastern Market, and a number of restaurants. The apartment was big enough to entertain guests and the appliances and finishes were modern and clean
This place is also dog friendly and right next to the park! My puppy was very happy chasing berds and squirrels in Stanton Park every day.

I loved staying here because I felt at home it was so quaint and beautifully decorated. Walking distance to everywhere and I felt safe. Most importantly super clean. Would stay again and again!!

Gorgeous property, outstanding customer service, prime location!
This apartment was very spacious and had every amenity possible. Gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and plenty of room to cook a full dinner. My husband and I loved the living room with great views of the park directly across the street. Although this was a partial basement apartment, there was plenty of light and each room seemed bright and airy. The location was fantastic - walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do, and the neighborhood was child-friendly and idyllic for strolling. The bedrooms were tastefully furnished, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. I've stayed in several rentals in historic DC, but this one was the most spotlessly clean one I've ever seen. The owners clearly paid attention to detail, and every part of the apartment felt luxurious. Speaking of the owners, we met Brian at the beginning of our visit and he couldn't have been any friendlier or accommodating. Our request for extra towels was met within minutes, and he went out of his way to give us all kinds of valuable information about navigating all the sights in DC. We didn't need to take him up on his offer to help out in any way possible, since our every need had already been met. The combination of great location, beautiful apartment, and outstanding customer service will make this our go-to place for every time we want to visit DC. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for five nights in May. The location is ideal and is three blocks from both Union Station and the Capitol. Super neighborhood. Right acros the street from a beautiful park. This is a English basement apartment (which means it's partially below ground) but it gets plenty of light as every room has several windows. The layout is open and nice. Brick walls are beautiful in the main front rooms. Very well furnished with very comfy mattresses. Note: the second bedroom is pretty small. We accidentally forgot we needed a late checkout and the owners were very good in working with us. They also provided a very detailed list of places to eat, how to use transit, etc. We never saw the owners but they were very responsive. Super easy to get in with electronic code locks. Try Cafe Berlin around the corner for really great lunch sandwiches. We would definitely stay again.
