About this apartment rental

Charming 2 bedroom open floor plan apartment 3 blocks to Capitol and Union Station. 1/2 block to great restaurants. Beautiful English basement in corner building. Windows on three sides. Gorgeous kitchen and bath.

Directly across from Stanton Park, a great park and very popular with kids and dog owners. This property was my own home for 15 years and I loved the location.

Blazing fast fiber optic internet. The fastest residential service available in DC. Up to 1 gig (an HD Zoom group call requires 3 mbps so this is hundreds of times faster).

YouTube TV with 85 channels including local channels, news channels, and HBO. Smart TV with built in Netflix and Amazon apps for use with your accounts.

This is a Capitol Hill Stay property. Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 24 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1997. We use excellent cleaners and pay them a living wage (they are best in DC if you ask me). And we have a professional full time property manager. Exposed brick. Patio with outdoor seating. Great open layout. Queen bed in main bedroom, full futon in back bedroom. Washer/dryer in apartment. Terrific restaurants 1/2 block away. Metro and Union Station 3 blocks.

Separate entrance. Keyless entry so you can easily come and go.

COVID Safety - Unlike hotels or apartment building our properties have separate private entrances and individual Heat / AC and ventilation systems. There are no shared spaces like elevators. We use a professional cleaner between each guest. They use enhanced cleaning techniques including additional wipe-down of all touch surfaces using CDC-approved disinfectants.

Late check in is fine as this building has electronic locks.

Early movein is also fine IF we don't have another guest moving out that day. Also sometimes we can accommodate leaving luggage early and/or late but we can't guarantee it.

I'm more than happy to provide information on local attractions. We also provide a detailed Welcome Letter with relevant neighborhood information, plus an interactive Map with neighborhood recommendations.

Property is literally steps away from Stanton Park-great for pets! US Capitol police just around the corner patrolling the area.

Very walk friendly neighborhood with lots to do anytime of day.

3 blocks to Metro at Union Station. 1 block to bus stop. Restaurants and grocery a half block away.

Excellent spot to explore DC from. Great neighborhood for longer term stays as well.

A word about rates:

Since every booking is different the rates listed are an approximation. Rates are based on length of stay, specific dates needed, amenities requested, etc. Bookings less than 91 days are subject to the DC lodging tax of 15.95%. SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.

Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.

And of course it's a presidential election year.

Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.

Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.

Everything was very good. GREAT location on the Hill, close to several small, local restaurants and coffee shops. Not too far to walk to Union Station, Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress. Very clean. Easy check-in process. Nice basement apartment for a family of 3-4.

My husband, dog and I had a great stay over New Year’s. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and was exactly what we needed. Communication from the hosts was great. We drove, so having the parking spot was very convenient. We would definitely stay again.

Our experience was very positive! The property is close to the Capitol, so we parked (in the space provide) and walked to locations during our entire stay. The apartment is cozy, safe and is spot-on regarding description and photos. Check-in and out procedures were easy to understand and follow.

This place was neat (unique)- loved the exposed brick, bed was comfy, lovely gas stove, and so close to attractions. We walked everywhere and only ubered once cuz it was late at night. Place was a bit dark and “old” (carpet etc.) since it is a basement apartment but very clean. Efficient heating and nice shower/tub. Would recommend it!

First - communication was great start to finish. Everything was at least as good as represented. The combination of proximity to DC points of interest, combined with a feeling a safety and security for ourselves and our car (bonus for off street parking), makes this an outstanding property.

Great apt close to everything
Great apt close to everything
Apartment is exactly as it appears in online listing and was clean with basic items. It was three blocks to the capitol or to Union Station to catch the metro or a train. The owners were good to work with. I would rent it again if I needed to be centrally located in DC.
