Excellent location in the heart of the old city and a great retreat to come back to after a long day.

Excellent location and the facilities and staff were amazing!!!!

Horrible customer service and experience from hotel and manager

the hotel itself was pretty but that’s about it

as soon as we checked in, they didn’t advise us that the hotel didn’t have any water since the day before. Before knowing this information, we had added an extra day to the stay and they quickly charged us and took us to our room. Until we arrived inside our room, the man who took us advised us then that there wasn’t any water at all and that they were working on it. the manager wasn’t helpful at all, she kept insisting with attitude that they were working on it. She didn’t offer to give us a discount or anything not until I advised her that I was pregnant and can’t be leaving the hotel to cross the street just to use the bathroom. She was able to refund my money back and we waited 4 hours until we decided to leave the hotel to another one called Bastión, which by all means was the best decision ever! I ended up paying a lot more than what I expected due to their mishap but happy that we left to get our vacation started.

Pretty hotel with friendly staff

As a boutique luxury hotel , it was pretty. Enjoyed sitting on the roof top under the moon and fairy lights and surrounded by bouganvillea and other plants

The bathrooms were a bit dark especially for make up application. My colleagues room on second floor flooded after the rain

absolutely beautiful property, located at the start of getsemani, and easy to reach the old town what I love is about this hotel were all the small touches. When we arrived, we were given a wet towel that smelt nice to freshen up. We had some arrival cheese and charcuterie in our room. Every evening we were given a little snack. All of these things made the stay exceptional. The coffee that they served at breakfast was some of the best coffee that I have tasted in Columbia. and the bonus is that above the swimming pool there is a deck with an amazing view of the city where there is also a Jacuzzi. It seemed that not a lot of people knew about this. So whilst everybody in all of Cartagena are crowding rooftop bars to watch the sunset, we had a completely available terrace on our own with a Jacuzzi with an amazing view, overseeing the city. This is an absolute gem, and I highly recommend this hotel to anybody, without a shadow of a doubt.

Wedding Guests - Cartagena Colombia Event.

Our eight (8) day stay in March-2023, at the hotel, (Capellan de Getsemani), was amazing. We were there along with various other family members, who also stayed at the hotel, who were also very satisfied. All the staff in all the depts., were very polite, very well trained and very helpful. The floor manager was especially attentive in helping us with our special emergency needs. There were two employees, (in particular), at the front desk who went all out of their way to help us, while we were there. The bellboy at the front door was always present to help; the check-in, was fast, our special requests for the room modifications were immediately attended to, through the help of the check-in, front-desk clerk. On another occasion, another front-desk employee, was very helpful in making emergency calls for us and in helping us to make changes to our flight plans, that ensued. The included breakfast every morning was excellent. It included a fruit dish, other hot & cold breakfast items, etc. The attention by restaurant staff was also great. The maids came in promptly everyday to clean and disinfect the rooms and were very fast and efficient in, so doing. Other staff members within the hotel were also very polite and attentive. The roof-top pool and jacuzzi areas were acessible by elevator and stairs. The terrace offered a nice view of the modern "Playa Grande", high-rise building skyline, in the distance. We would highly recommend this hotel for its location; just within the Getsemani area, but yet within walking distance of the main cultural district in the region of the historic "Clock Tower" and other touristic sites. Beautiful luxury hotel, everywhere you look. Large comfortable room with great bed. Staff incredibly nice and helpful. Rooftop pool and bar a great place to relax. A truly wonderful experience.

shower was awful, very weak staff and customer service also terrible - I checked in an hour after the check-in time, mentioned I was in a bit of a rush, concierge started dealing with me but then constantly interrupted our interaction to deal with other Spanish-speaking guests who came after me until I called him out; room wasn’t ready until 30 mins after I arrived despite arriving an hour after the check-in time; concierge unable to provide basic first aid items and provided incorrect information about going to tierra bomba

Ultra noisy. the rooms are not soundproofed. in addition to the noise of the street (as in a busy area), the noises of everyday life are found in the room very early in the morning... our room was under the terrace with the pool. the waterfall of the pool starts before 7 a.m. in the morning, it's as if a washing machine was spinning in loop mode all day in the room

The front desk staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Whether it was questions about the city, food, events, tours, etc each and everyone one of them were pleasant and professional to deal with.

Only concern is I thought breakfast was included with my stay.

would 1000% visit again !

honestly I’m so fussy with hotels and as it had some mixed reviews I was a little worried but it really was a 10/10 stay. the rooms are beautiful the food is delicious, the hotel is quiet and peaceful and the staff are amazing. beautiful settings just really really fab all round ✨✨✨

sometimes they didn’t have things that were on the menu and the first day we arrived service was slow at the restaurant but they were apologetic and the food was gorgeous so it made up for it!

An amazing hotel for a luxurious and romantic vacation

A very, very high level place, it is easy to see how much investment and thought was put into the hotel. The hotel looks amazing, very clean, luxurious and high quality. The hotel staff are very nice people. The roof of the hotel with the pool and the beds is very nice. Excellent location near the old city. In short - we were more than satisfied and recommend!

In my opinion there could be a little more stuff in the breakfast (there are things that I think are basic that were not included in the meal and you have to add money for them like yogurt, avocado).

Really disappointing

The hotel is nice : good location, beautiful place. The rooms are nice and the beds comfortable.

Several problems occurred which are not acceptable for a hotel you pay more than 200 USD per night: no hot water in one of the rooms (we had 3 rooms), lots of noise in 2 rooms, from the street for one of them and from the swimming pool pump for the second one. The service is really bad for a 5 stars hotel: nobody was giving us the menu for the breakfast in the morning, (we stayed for 5 nights), many choices not available, they made us pay for a cappuccino because it was not included in the breakfast one day (but was the other days). Very slow service, we had to wait for 1 hour and a half every morning to get served and have to ask again and again for coffee, bread... The breakfast is really cheap for a 5 stars hotel: a little bread basket (everyday the same), a little piece of butter and jam, some eggs. Really not at the level of some others 5 stars hotels we had been in Cartagena. We had to wait as well a lot at the swimming pool bar, which was lot of the time alone, obviously they lack personal or the management is really unefficient. I would not recommend this hotel if you are willing to pay for a 5 stars hotel you better look for other options.

we stayed in the family loft and it was beautiful but in the middle of the night the toilet started making a very loud noise and we could not sleep. pretty disappointed for the amount of money we payed we expect to have a good and relaxing night which was not the case.

A very good location to explore both the walled city and Getsemani neighborhood.

It is located just outside the walled city which makes it very convenient to get there (5 mins walk) but also right in the heart of the Getsemani artistic neighborhood with beautiful murals and graffitis. The room was very comfortable, the property is beautiful and has a small but nice swimming pool.

The free breakfast was very simple and I wish they had more free options included.

Nicely designed hotel but difficult to sleep in because of noise and light.

the location is great, the design is very pretty, rooms are spacious.

The rooms lack natural light, the ones we were in were facing the main areas that are very noisy because of the staff chatting, walking loudly and moving things around. One of the rooms had broken air conditioning and it smelled like sewage and it took forever for the staff to respond adequately. Another room had on and off electricity through the plugs, meaning we could not charge our phones when needed. Overall we were unimpressed with the staff, they were very slow and unhelpful. We understand the language can be a barrier but in other hotels we never had issues communicating and getting understood.
