About this chalet rental

(For promotion details please read the remarks in the last paragraph of this listing description.)

Beautiful home, totally remodeled in 2014 and being continually remodeled. This place has everything. Swimming pool (May-Oct.), Hot tub year around, volleyball court, basketball hoop (driveway court), two indoor fireplaces, one outdoor fireplace, grill, jetted bathtub in the master suite with yet another electric fireplace, five flatscreens, recently repainted inside and out and hardwood floors were just refinished. On one of Leavenworth's most beautiful roads, the Icicle, which leads you to the Snow Lake Trailhead, the Enchantments and right across the street the Icicle Ridge trailhead (great one hour or so hike to the top). We do our very best to keep the landscaping looking beautiful with a mix of manicured lawns and natural forest landscaping.

This house is really two houses connected by a breezeway. Total privacy available to parties on each side. The right side of the house has two bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, dining and living room with fireplace. The left side has a master bedroom / master bath that is a former bed and breakfast with a downstairs area that has yet another kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining room, bathroom and bedroom with three sleeping spaces (great for kids). The downstairs bathroom has a pump toilet that we ask that guests only use in the event of emergency. We have three other bathrooms in the house though!

The pool is private and for our guests only. It's on our property. It's typically open from April 1st or May 1st depending on how long winter lasts. We typically close the pool down October 1st-15th. The pool is heated and kept to around 75 degrees. When it drops into the 30's at night the pool heater typically cannot keep up and this is when we decide to close it down for the winter.

We have a long driveway so there is plenty of room for parking, the property is allowed one car per bedroom plus 1, so the max cars is 5. We cannot fit or provide electrical for recreational vehicles. Our driveway is steep at the beginning and curved.

We do everything we can to keep the property absolutely beautiful year around. Recent projects include: exterior of property was just painted, interior was just repainted, floors were just re sanded and stained, landscaping has been revamped, new pool deck, new pool liner, new pool heater, new stove and dishwasher, two new twin daybeds, new bathroom just added in left side downstairs area, new grill (which we pretty much buy a new one every year because they've become like disposable lighters). The list goes on.

Our property is nicely landscaped, it is a mix of mowed lawns, barked areas and areas that are more au natural.

The county has enacted new rules for vacation rentals so that we can maintain our license. We have caps on the total number of guests, number of cars, garbage, a neighborhood noise restriction, fire safety, etc. It's all built into our listings. Common sense prevails. :)

So there aren't any surprises. We charge an extra guest fee for guests over 2 so that we can charge less for small parties and more for larger parties where people are sharing costs, as opposed to simply charging the higher amount all the time. More people means more supplies, more wear and tear, more cleaning, etc. While doing comparisons similar properties with a pool charge quite a bit more than I do.

We sometimes require a short term rental contract. Really it's just so that folks know about the house rules and the new county rules.

We have updated our cancellation policy to offer a full refund if cancelled 90 days prior to arrival. We want people to be absolutely sure they are committed to coming before they book. We also suggest that guests look into vacation rental travel insurance. This can potentially offer you insurance reimbursement in the event you can't travel due to verified illness, verified travel conditions, etc. That said there are 3 ways to get to Leavenworth, Highway 90, Highway 2 and via the Wenatchee Airport. In 14 years of doing this I've never seen both passes closed at the same time. So check the pass report before driving out.

During the winter we ask guests to consider bringing a four wheel drive vehicle with snow tires or, as an alternative, chains. You will not be able to navigate Leavenworth or our driveway without these essentials. Chains are a pain to put on and take off but they will get you out of a jam in the middle of a snowstorm or if you get stuck. It can easily snow a foot or two overnight and our plow guy sometimes doesn't get to the house until the afternoon. This could put you in a bad spot on check out day. Even a four wheel drive with 2 or 3 year old tires can get you stuck (I've been there!). Having AAA is a lifesaver out here in the wintertime (and the summer). Please come prepared to drive in the snow.

** PROMOTION: For February-May "stay's only" Book Friday and Saturday and add one day free when available. Book a non weekend i.e. Monday-Tuesday and add one non weekend day for free when available. Typically not available for holiday weekends or Leavenworth event weekends (Christmas Lighting, film festival, etc.). For new bookings only, offer not retroactive for past bookings and free night is always at owner discretion. Must be requested at time of booking. You'd book two days and I'd add the third day manually, if and when available. Adding the free night must still be available for me to be able to add it.
House sleeps 10 which includes children and babies.

As a final note, the county restricts this house to a max of 10 persons, 2 pets and four to five cars. Because of this we have to have a deterrent to unannounced or unpaid for humans, pets or cars.

The house was very nice. Everyone had a bed to sleep in. We only wished it had a full bathroom for our daughter who slept in the downstairs bedroom on the other side of the house. She had to shower and get ready for bed in our bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool was very nice the kids really loved it.

This is an amazing place for a friend group or large family getaway. The views were beautiful and the drive to town was about 5 minutes. There are some minor repairs needed and the cleanliness was a bit lacking. In the main bedroom above the converted garage, I found dried dog poop behind the door and the hot tub needs to be drained & refilled. Overall the 2 separate buildings are in need of a deep clean. The beds were VERY comfortable. I would love to come back in the Summer to enjoy the pool & beach volleyball court.

Perfect place for a multi-generational gathering. Location is great, variety of sleeping and gathering spaces work well for different ages & needs, and the pool & yard are fantastic! — we also loved the cozy bedding and throw blankets for chilly evenings.
