This newer property features an East and West unit, and when both sides are rented, is one of the largest properties along Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Each side will accommodate 14-26 guests and is located in one of the best locations along the entire Gulf Coast. This home sits approximately half a mile West of the Florida/Alabama state line and one mile to the East of the Perdido Pass Bridge in the heart of Orange Beach.

Rent only the west side of the property (this listing) and sleep up to 26 guests, or rent the nearly identical other half—Castle in the Sand East—to double your sleeping space. PLEASE note, there are louvered privacy walls between all balconies and a 9 ft privacy wall between the pool decks. You will have total privacy between the units. The dune walk to the beach is the only thing shared between the two properties.
Beachfront is the best way to enjoy Orange Beach, and this home provides a prime spot directly on the Gulf, accessed via your own private boardwalk over the dunes. We had 18 for our family reunion ranging in age from 70 to 7. Everyone had a great time. Being right on the beach is nice and there were many games played in the pool. We’ll be back

This property looked as though it would be perfect. We had it rented 3yrs ago , due to family emergency we had to reschedule . It was nice and roomy for our group of 17. My husband and I could not go up the stairs and stayed on the first floor. I did think the property should have been cleaned more throughly for the price we paid for our group. I believe the house could use a few updates. When we rent a place for our family we want it to be immaculate. We did enjoy our family time, but due to our age will not rent here again. I would recommend it for a large group but also would state about some updates in some of the furniture and flooring downstairs. I did not go to the 2nd or 3rd floor

Our family has gathered on the Gulf Coast for more than 40 yrs. As our family grows so does the property need. The Castle in the Sand was perfect: enough bedrooms , several gathering spaces and short private beach access. We loved the open well equipped kitchen and large dining table. Overall a GREAT week.

This house is beautiful and the location couldn't be better. The kitchen is very well equipped. There were 18+ 2 infants and there was plenty of room to gather in one spot or to break up into smaller groups for games, etc. Our one complaint would be several said their beds were uncomfortable. We would return.

We have been coming to the gulf for over 20 years and this place Castle in the Sand West was by far our favorite! Plenty of spaces to be alone or gather together as a group of 17. Very well stocked kitchen for family meals. Private beach, swimming pool and great communication with host Greg…what more could you ask for?

We have been coming to the gulf for over 20 years and this place Castle in the Sand West was by far our favorite! Plenty of spaces to be alone or gather together as a group of 17. Very well stocked kitchen for family meals. Private beach, swimming pool and great communication with host Greg…what more could you ask for?

Wow!
Our stay at Castle in the Sand West was fabulous! Our large family group (ages 8 months through 85 years) enjoyed a wonderful beach vacation, thanks largely to this beautiful facility and location. Beyond having clean and well thought out accommodations, here are some of the highlights.
• We had our own uncrowded beach close to the house. We didn’t have to claim our spot early in the morning. We didn’t feel like we had to take everything out to the beach because we could easily walk back to the house to get a drink or some other thing we had left on the large deck. To the west was a stretch of isolated beach which was great for walks and shell hunting.
• The house was well arranged for togetherness and fellowship in the living area and the kitchen and dining area were large, well supplied, and inviting. The separate ice maker was very convenient. The southern and western windows allowed for an excellent view of beach, water, and sunsets.
• The large entry area was very helpful for storing golf clubs and other stuff we had brought on our trip.
• The pool and deck were perfect for our group, and was a wonderful place to lounge, talk, and play.
• The bedrooms allowed for retreat from the group, and the rooms were well insulated from sound. The bunkroom was great for our kids.
• Greg, with Alabama vacation rentals, was EXTREMELY responsive and helpful, answering questions promptly prior to our trip, but, in reality, I never had to contact him during our stay because everything was in order.
OK, the Wi-Fi should have been faster and another washer/dryer would have been helpful. And I prefer Saturday to Saturday rental (some of our group had to leave a day early to get back to Arkansas), but these issues in no way disrupted a fantastic trip to Orange Beach. Thank you, Greg, VRBO, and owners for a great beach experience!

We stayed here mid to late April. The heated pool was an excellent option for when we weren’t in the ocean. The ocean area is great because it is pretty shallow for quite a ways. We hardly had anyone near us on the beach. The home was laid out well and offered plenty of room for everyone. The manager was quick to reply to our communication.

My family met here for a week of our Christmas break- it was awesome!
The house is beautiful, location second to none (empty huge lot next door), well equipped kitchen and great heated pool on the back deck.
We ranged in age from 22 months to 58 years- everyone loved it.
We left the beach discussing plans to come back next year!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Orange Beach West! Everyone had plenty of space to feel comfortable. The kitchen was set up perfectly to entertain large groups. The view of the sunset each night was gorgeous! We all said on the first night that we will be staying there again.

Fantastic home with plenty of space for everyone
This was our first time in Orange Beach. This home is everything it says and even more. You are just a few short steps to the beach, a wonderful pool out your back door and if you are looking for other things to do, there is plenty near by and lots of food options also. Greg was great to work with and very quick to respond anytime we had a question. We definitely hope to go back.

40th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
We enjoyed our half of this house this week, good times and great memories where made. Our group of 17, ages 4-79, had lots of room to spread out and enjoy the week with lots of time at beach and in the pool. Nice area on gulf it was like we had our own beach area, no crowds making it even better for this relaxing week. Weather was just as we ordered, sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine.

This house is absolutely fantastic! We had the BEST time!
The owner is wonderful and responsive. The house is spacious with a great little pool and it is directly on the beach! We went with a big group of friends and had plenty of room for food, luggage, and for everyone to spread out. We had a truly fantastic time !

We will definitely be coming back!!
This ended up being everything we had hoped for! We took a group of 30 of our staffers, boys on one side and girls on the other, and literally everyone fit comfortably. Both units were absolutely perfect in cleanliness, size and space. The location is also perfect, being right on the beach and not too far from town. We had so much fun and are already making plans to come back next year!!

Exceeded Expectations
Perfect trip from top to bottom. House was really nice, even better than the pictures. Small things like the double fridge and ice machine set this place a part. Just steps from the water and for those who like to have fun, a short walk to one of the best bars in the South. And btw...we bought a few fishing rods on our way in and caught fish at will from the beach. Can't wait to come visit again next year.

Annual Family Beach Trip
My fanily and I just returned home from our beach vacation at Castle in the Sand West. Over the years we have rented various properties but this one was the very best! The accommodations were amazing and first class. There were eleven of us and more than enough room for each to have their own space. Literally steps to the beach and the private pool was a huge plus. A big shout out to property manager Greg Crews. From the time we booked until the time we left, he was always on top of things and very prompt to respond with any questions or concerns. He definitely rates a 10 out of 10 and the property gets a 5 star rating from me and all my family. Hoping to book again next year!

We found the perfect beach house!
Our big family has been beach vacationing together for the past 19 years. Over the years we have stayed in many houses in different locations--North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida-- and Castle in the Sand West in Orange Beach is by far the best house we have ever rented. After our stay I talked with family members of all ages and we agree we want to return to this spectacular house ASAP! That’s saying a lot because we have stayed in some great houses over the years. This house was perfect for a large group like ours. It is evident that lots of thought and planning went into this huge, beautiful, spotless house. There is plenty of room for everyone. The large open kitchen, dining area, and gathering area was perfect for us, there is even a separate bar area with an extra sink and an ice maker that actually kept up with our needs. This is in addition to two huge refrigerators with ice makers as well. We cook all our own meals so the large efficient gas stove was great. Everything we needed to prepare and eat meals was available—plenty of silverware, dishes, big pots and pans, etc. The area is very quiet and family oriented, the beach and the water are very clean, and the waves are gentle for our little ones to swim in the ocean and play on the beach. The pool is wonderful and the walk to the beach is VERY short. I give my highest recommendation to Castle in the Sand West. And to make our vacation perfect, Greg was very easy to contact and he was kind, caring and helpful. I could tell it truly mattered to him that we have a great vacation experience. We will return to Castle in the Sand West for many years to come.

This amazing house MADE our vacation!
I could not see another place being more perfect for our group. Once in a lifetime trip for our Kansas City family of 26 ranging from my 75yr old mother-in-law, her 3 kids and spouses, 13 grandkids and 7 great grandkids. Youngest being 4months old. The online description was spot on. We cooked 3 meals a day at the house. The main floor had plenty of space to all gather and bond. Yet, everyone having their own rooms and bathrooms, we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook, bake or grill each meal with ease for our large group. The 2 dishwashers, ovens and refrigerators were much used. The 3 levels of the house were very steep. Next time I would not take 1 large suitcase. 2 smaller would've been easier to tote. I said the stairs just helped work off the extra vacation calories we were consuming. We did strategically put the kids and teens on the 3rd floor. They appreciated the 3rd floor tv area to get away from the adults occasionally. The pool was perfect to step out and socialize or take a quick dip. And of course the beach was well attended being only a dune bridge away. One evening we played a wiffle ball game with the family in the east unit on the beach. The owners were very responsive and patient to all my questions. We played free bingo at Flora-Bama one rainy afternoon. The 20s also enjoyed walking there at night. There was backed up traffic from Flora-Bama that went in front our house. Not a big deal but did make it hard to get out of our driveway after 7pm. We went out one dinner as a group to Flipdaddy's. They had a band and cornhole games in an open air restaurant. Food was great. Souvenir stores and groceries were conveniently over the bridge just west of us. I would 100% recommend this property.

Beautiful home and beach!
We do a huge family trip to the beach every year, this was our first stay in Orange Beach. 16 "adults" and 4 kids. This house was perfect! The owner was easy to reach if we needed anything. We've stayed in a lot of large homes over the years and this is the first one that had a kitchen that actually had EVERYthing we needed AND everything worked! The bedrooms/bathrooms were all great. The pool was awesome for the kids and when the beach got really hot. The walk to the beach was short and easy, they had beach chairs and toys to use, and the beach was pretty much ours. I would definitely recommend staying here. Great memories - thank you!!

Amazing spring break in an amazing house!
WOW! Was the first word out of all 17 of us that walked into this beautiful house! The house is amazing! It was very clean and very tastefully decorated! It actually even feels larger than what the pictures show. The owners thought of everything in this house for large groups, such as two dishwashers, two large refrigerators, three ice makers, and a large pantry. Each bedroom basically having their own private bath was a huge plus as well. With 17 in the house, we never once felt crowded. Even on game nights, we all had a place to sit. The location of the house is close to everything you may need from grocery stores to restaurants to shopping, etc. It is only 1/2 mile to the popular FloraBama, which we walked to a couple of nights. We loved being right on the beach and the swimming pool was a plus as well! Every single window has a beautiful view! Greg was very easy to work with as well. He responds immediately to any questions you may have! We definitely plan on returning and staying here again!

This house was better than advertised! Amazing!
We had a group of 15 junior girls and 10 moms rent this house for spring break. The house was so much more than we had anticipated. The house was huge, so we had plenty of room for everyone. Everything was well made, clean and beautifully decorated. The two refrigerators and an extra icemaker were all utilized and appreciated. We had the pool heated and the girls used it pretty much daily. The view was just beautiful! We had ample seating for all of us - we all loved the huge window seat, the large comfy couch and chairs and the huge dinner table and counter area. We walked to Flora Bama for lunch, and the gumbo was outstanding!! We also enjoyed Fisher's, Louisiana Lagniappe, Doc's, Cobalt, Big Fish, Lambert's and Live Bait. The girls liked riding the mechanical shark at Live Bait and then dancing at The Hangout. They also liked the ice cream, chocolate covered goodies and shakes at Kayden's Candy Factory and also at Scoops. The house is close to grocery stores and pretty much whatever you need. Everybody enjoyed shopping at Shades and at The Wharf. We also had our own boardwalk for the very short walk from the house to the beach. The beach was beautiful and it was cleaned every night. We all felt very safe and comfortable in this house. We would definitely recommend it and would stay there again. The management company was great to work with!
