Great and super flexible host. We had problems with our original dates and Darlene was incredibly helpful in rescheduling our visit. I want to go back. Great experience.

What a wonderful cabin for a family ski trip. The proximity to Dodge Ridge is incredible. The kitchen holds what you will need for family meals. The open floor plan is ideal for a group gathering. We were able to squeezing 9 people around the table for dinner. The bedroom set up allows for multiple families. The beds are comfortable. The view from the decks is gorgeous. The lower level pool room is wonderful for game time and provides an additional sleeping space. Driveway easily held two SUV's. The host is organized, provided all information needed ahead of time and was easy to communicate with.

Great location close to Strawberry and lakes and streams.
Had a great time fishing and enjoying the forest.
The power was out twice but of no fault of the property.(it was PG&E)

Summer fun
Rented a cabin this year trying something new instead of the traditional tent camping an I have to say it was well worth it. The cabin was clean, cozy and well kept. I look forward to renting it again. Thank you for sharing ur cabin.

Place was awesome, just don't stay for a couple days. My biggest regret is not staying a week.
Great place and location, just the MapQuest took us on a mari-go-round trying to find the actual cabin. But I'm telling you, the out side decks, game room, kids lost in their own adventure and awe of the place. We forgot toilet paper so had to drive down to get some and the big knives for cutting we're dull but my babies, friends, and family all had a blast and really had fun. I was a bit shocked at how crowded the lake was for as small it is, so with no reception for most, you need to communicate the unloading and parking so to not have to drive around for over an hour trying to find the rest of your party when going to Pinecrest lake. I give a 9.5 or of 10

Loved our time in Strawberry
Darlene,
I wanted to thank you for making our trip so enjoyable. the cabin met all of our needs, and everyone had a fabulous time. Plenty of room for all and in great proximity to Pinecrest. It was a very hot week so it was somewhat uncomfortable at night, but it didn't prevent anyone from having a great time.
Thanks again.

Good house for family getaway
This house fulfills the basic needs of a vacation home; bathroom, beds and a kitchen. Its clean and well kept. A few things around the house could use some updating to help boost ratings and favorability. The location isn’t the best in terms of reception and WiFi but it’s 10 minutes from Pinecrest Lake. The price is great and fit all of my family without breaking our wallets; Overall I’d stay here again. Thanks Darlene!

Old and needs repairs!
Not happy with the kitchen-old utensils and pots and pans must be 40 years old. Upstairs bathroom toilet seat(wood) is split and dangerous and child sized.
Many entertainment items listed did not work. Blinds were broken, screens torn and the beds uncomfortable!
We will not be renting this cabin anymore.

Had a nice time... WiFi was difficult
We had a nice time, it was comfortable, everyone had their own room to stay in. The one big downside was the Wi-Fi. I can understand something being slow when you’re in the mountains, but when only one device could connect at a time and there were times when no one count connect at all, it is very frustrating. Especially when you don’t have cell phone service. You could WiFi call to explain the problem if you could connect to the WiFi but it’s slow and there are times your can’t even connect. On the second day of our stay I finally managed to use a WiFi app to see the connection speed. It said 3 devices were connected. I was 1 and no one else in our group was connected. Something was fishy. I had to drive up to Prinecrest just to get service.

Nice getaway in Strawberry
Our family enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was great to be in Strawberry and within walking distance (healthy walk) from the river. The living space is comfortable and great for a large group!

This is a nice cabin. Great location for getting to Pinecrest Lake and hiking around Strawberry area. Loved the wood stove, and the house gets very very warm & cozy. Pretty neighborhood. Very quiet, hardly saw a soul. Overall, the cabin could use some updating. The beds are old and rather uncomfortable. Mattresses haven't been changed in years. Springs in your back & a bit saggy. The carpets throughout the house are pretty dirty--it's very low-pile carpet that's beige so you can see the wear and tear. The upstairs bathroom shower stall leaks so you have to be strategic with the angle of the showerhead. The newer bathroom on the main level was nice and had good water pressure. All of the appliances worked well and we enjoyed making Thanksgiving dinner here. I think for the money being charged I would expect a slightly more updated home. There were ZERO and I mean ZERO supplies. Yes, it says it DEEP in the listing about bringing all your own stuff, but I have never had a rental house that didn't provide a starter roll of toilet paper and some dish towels. Luckily I read the fine print and had packed accordingly, but it feels a bit excessive to have to bring your own EVERYTHING. Read the entire listing IN DETAIL. No TP, paper towels, trash bags, dish towels, sponge, dish soap, hand soap etc. TP, dish soap, body soaps (sealed of course, due to covid) and a few dish towels, and a sponge would be more welcoming and would feel less cheap. There are any number of ways to provide the basics in a sanitary way, even during covid. If you can leave silverware and dishes, I'm sure you can provide hand & dish towels, especially because there is a washer & dryer (bring your own soap) onsite. All of the appliances work, but they are VERY old, so I would suggest an update merely for the energy efficiency and cost savings alone. Also that one child lock on the lower cupboard and not a single other one is an annoyance. You keep trying to open it over and over again. Just take it off. Overall nice place, good location, but in need of updating and some TLC.

We rented the location for a week in early September. The location is great, its a short drive from Pinecrest lake and the river running through Strawberry. The river is technically walkable, but its a long, long walk. We had family coming and going, at the peak there were 6 adults and 6 kids and they fit fine, if not a little snug due to the bottom level being only open to 18+. Pool table down there, I assume that is why.The house is functioning, but it is clearly in an "old rental" state, where there is not a lot of financial incentive to make big fixes. The windows and screens were old 20 years ago. Screen door missing downstairs, upstairs screen door functioning poorly. Creaky deck appears safe (I got under and inspected), but its going to need work in the not-too-distant future. To be fair, the front bathroom and kitchen countertops had been updated. Wifi worked, but very slow. Don't plan on any heavy data usage. Dishwasher worked fine, washer & dryer there but didn't use. plenty of dishes of all sorts. As they clearly state, bring your own toiletries and such. Paper towels, toilet paper, soap-- bath, dish, laundry, etc. There were towels there, enough to get the job done, but if you like your plush towels, bring them.Property management was very responsive and communicated well, from my interactions I can see why someone would hire them to manage their property. PG&E was planning to shut off power and they came by the house to alert us beforehand (Thank you).Summing it up, location and management great, house big but old and not in best repair. If competitively priced and you like the area, go for it.

The place could use some maintenance. The linens and the towels had seen better days. It would have been better if we had brought our own. Instructions for the sat/tv would be help full.BTW the battery in the remote needs to be replaced.

#11 More of a winter cabin than summer
I stayed here with my family that had younger kids. Most of the cabins appliances and look hasn’t been updated since the 80’s. There is a dilapidated pool table downstairs and that area is the coolest (temperature) place to be during the summer. Its also one of the loudest places to be because of the floor board creaking sounds. It’s so loud that it’s almost a form of deterrence to be downstairs. The beds range in comfortability and the quality is not great. The couches are comfy, the fridge was cold when I arrived, and the instructions were easy to understand. The unit I stayed in has modern upgrade of an upgrade bathroom, kitchen sink and kitchen countertop. I’d rate the cabin no higher than 3.5, that’s because I’m rating this like a budget motel in a prime location.

Clean and spacious property with three levels and plenty of space. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were modest. Would return again.

Everthing was good.
The cabin was very cozy, comfortable and temperature was good in cold weather. But I think water tank might be small. So some of us have to take a shower with cold water. Another problem was mattress. They are too old. Except for two things, it is really comfortable cabin.

Great time in the woods!
Our party of 10 had a great time at the cabin! The area is beautiful with lots of hikes nearby and also near to Pinecrest Lake. The cabin was great with full stocked kitchen. Beds were little uncomfortable but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great location, easy access and bigger inside than expected
Upon arrival, we had a note from the maid asking us to put away the dishes that she washed from previous renters. That was odd.
The only bed that was comfortable for the adults was the one on the main level. It would be good if they updated and added mattress toppers.
The bath towels were very dated and small. Thankfully my sister let met know and I was able to bring some up a couple of days later when i arrived. There was only 1 hand towel for all 3 bathrooms & kitchen for an entire week. Crazy!
The Kitchen was poorly stocked, ie... No pot holders, bad selection mixing bowls, and cooking utensils. We had to go to Sonora to buy some supplies. Fortunately, we left them for the next guests.
We left a day early even though we had paid because my husband wanted a good night sleep in his bed before going back to work.
Other than those negatives, it was very nice to get away, breathe clean air and spend time with our family in a cabin in the mountains playing pool, taking a couple of walks, playing board games, and going ice skating and to Leland snow park.

Great for large family!
We had four generations together for a fun weekend. Plenty of space to spread out. Seven minutes from the lake. The cabin was clean and well equipped. It could use some updating on the bedding. Overall, very satisfied.

4th year of our family's vacation in Cabin 11!
Upon arrival we noticed the upgrades first thing, hard wood flooring, granite counter tops, and the stainless double kitchen sink that really sparkled . My Mom seems surprised each year at the cleanliness and little delightful details she discovers; cupboards arranged super neatly, binder left for us describing events and history, new Weber grill, and her favorite: a super clean coffee maker :) We always feel really welcomed and make and effort to respect how we treat our rented domicile. We had to call manager with a few questions and her immediate responses/solutions demonstrate the hospitality of the cabin's charm. Darlene and her team helped us feel really safe, especially because we have some littles. We had a fantastic week-vacation!
Thank You, Paula Lozano et al

Great stay at Pinecrest
Been coming to Pinecrest for over 15 years. The rental met the needs of a growing adult family. The cabin had the space and rooms we needed. It was well cared for.
Only comments. The garbage can neeg to be stronger. We had bears on Thursday night. Went right through the plastic cans. Needed to clean up and take the garbage to the local dump for a fee. The kitchen cabinets had quite a few owner things in them.
Need to rearrange some for the stuff we brought. Drive way was tricky till you got the hang of it after a couple of trips..
Overall great week.

Good One to Stay
Well maintained, neat and perfect fit for 10+ people. We were facing issues only with communication due to lack of signals but per owner's assistance we were well prepared. Before getting there we bought Verizon Hot-spot device, it helped us in many ways. We felt barbecue machine and kitchen's utensils are not enough for 10+ people other than this we enjoyed our stay with peaceful mind.
Thanks Darlene for all your quick responses which are directed us as planned.

Beautiful getaway!!! We loved the cabin!!!
Beautiful cabin, perfectly fit our family of 7. We all had our own bedrooms, and they were very roomy and wonderfully pleasingly decorated and very comfortable and very clean! So liveable and loveable, I want to live here!!! Will definitely rent again soon!!! Thank you so much!!!

Family friendly cabin
The home worked well for our group, 3 couples (1 with an infant). The kitchen was functional and had a table for six near the kitchen area and a large table on the deck. The bedrooms and bathroom were fairly basic, but the bedrooms were a good size. The activity room downstairs has a 1/2 bathroom and that was helpful. Overall a cabin that worked for our visit to the area. Close to Pinecrest Lake and area camps.

Barely any heat and terrible King bed
When we arrived it was 44* in the house and the power to the upstairs heater thermostats was off. The manager came within an hour or so to turn the power back on an program the thermostats, which automatically turned the heat down to 58* 4 x per day!
They suggested we use the fireplace for heat and they provided a ton of great firework, but no kindling to start a fire or an ax to cut any wood into kindling. We regularly use a fireplace at home, so we know how to start and keep a fire going, but this was ridiculous. I don't know if it was broken or the chimney needed cleaning, but we could barely get a fire going and it produced little heat. In the end it took over 48 hours for the temperature inside to reach 67* (max temperature allowed by thermostat). Then shortly after the thermostat would reset to 58* and we would have to bump it back up again.
Another issue was the King bed. This bed was so concaved in the middle you could see it from across the room. Sleeping on it was so uncomfortable we moved to the twin beds instead. Really disappointing.
The view was nice and the neighborhood is amazing, but I'm really shocked and disappointed with the heat issue. We will never rent this or any other house by Pincrestvacationrentals.com again.

Memories made!
We had a wonderful weekend. We got turned around at first but Darlene came to us and drove us to the cabin. The cable was out due to the snow and she got someone out right away to fix! PLENTY of snow for the kids and very close to Dodge and casino. We will definitely go through Darlene again for are upcoming getaways!!

Our cabin was very clean, well furnished, and had everything we could possibly need. The game room downstairs was a pleasant surprise! I will be staying here again

Good cabin for large group
The cabin was well furnished with lots of beds, space to set up the travel cribs we brought, lots of cooking equipment and places to serve and eat. However, we selected this place because it was supposed to be walking distance to Strawberry River. It was not. It was several miles to the bridge access to the river. It was nice to be a short drive to Pinecrest Lake and the area is beautiful.
