Central Ponta Delgada location, clean and large rooms / bathrooms. No lift.

We had 2 private rooms in Ilha hostel & suites. Both rooms were spacious and also bathrooms were large. Rooms were clean. Host / receptionist Patricia was very nice. Ilha hostel & suites is in central Ponta Delgada location. Breakfast bufet was available. Price corresponded 3* hotel.

No lift. Amenities in the bathroom were basic (shower gel only). Breakfast bufet had all basic selections except for vegetables. If room to the street loud during evening as there is restaurant just below the hotel.

El mejor hostel de Ponta Delgada

estuve alojada en el dormitorio femenino y sin duda es uno de los mejores hostales en los que he estado. Cada detalle está pensado al milímetro para la comodidad de los huéspedes, los espacios son súper amplios, limpios, la comodidad de que con un solo código acceder al edificio, a la habitación, a las taquillas, e incluso a las taquillas que ofrecen hasta que tienes lista la habitación si llegas demasiado pronto. El desayuno es variado y riquísimo y la cocina súper surtida en caso de que quieras hacerte tus propias comidas. El personal del hotel es amabilísimo y la ubicación no puede ser mejor, céntrico pero en una calle tranquila por lo que no hay un solo ruido de noche. Recomendable 100%.

Tal vez ofrecería excursiones o posibilidad de compartir taxis/coches a viajeros que vayan solos y quieran compartir gastos.

Poor customer service experience

Not impressed. A heads up to any solo Travellers, at night time you will need a code to get in and you will not be sent a code in advance. You will be stuck outside the building stranded on an empty street, until you contact the host to get this code. Also you will not be left a keycard even though you specify your arrival time on your booking and you book more than 3 hours in advance of your stay. And you will need to use a card of your own to turn on the lights. Also the host will laugh at you when you ask questions regarding all of this .

I had an excellent stay here. Friendly staff, good location, cozy room and tasty breakfast. Definitely recommended!

O local perfeito para valorizar ainda mais a estadia numa Ilha maravilhosa.

Excelente localização, facilidade de estacionamento, sem custos, nas redondezas. Fica a 5/10 min a pé de todos os locais de interesse no centro de Ponta Delgada. Ficamos no quarto familiar que tem uma otima disposição, dois WCs completos o que facilita imenso a logística matinal. Pequeno almoço com o suficiente e necessário para uma ótima refeição. Disponibilidade e simpatia de todo o staff é uma mais valia. Face à ausência de elevador as escadas de acesso aos pisos superiores são muito bem dimencionadas quer em largura quer na altura dos degrau ... não é nenhum Evarest. Recomendo sem dúvida este local.

Não é exatamente não gostar. Dava jeito ter um elevador, ficamos no 3 andar. Mas é perfeitamente compreensível que a estrutura do edifício não esteja preparada para esse benefício. E vendo bem as malas só sobem e descem na chegada e na partida.

Coup de coeur !

En ayant logé dans 4 hébergements à Sao Miguel, celui-ci est de loin le mieux. Très grand lit confortable, très bon petit déjeuner, ménage tous les jours, personnel agréable.

Superb

It was a very nice stay. The place is clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast is a real one with nice options. The room is big. The layout is nice, you are not near the other people. It was quiet. I would go back without hesitation.

I would say that cleaning the towel everyday is not necessary and not really environment friendly. The locker for luggage was sometime doing weird noises.

Excellent hostel in centre of Ponta Delgada and staff that makes you feel at home

This was my second stay with them and I absolutely love it. Staying in a 6 bed dorm (woman) only. They provide towels, a glass, and a cookie on arrival. Beds are very comfortable and there's a little curtain you can close for more privacy. The staff is exceptional and they even remembered me from last year. Nice vibe with the other guests as well. Good breakfast and perfect location in the centre of Ponta Delgada.

Fabulous!

It was very comfortable and although I was staying in a 6 bed dorm there was still a lot of privacy with the bed layout. The breakfast was great and the staff were AMAZING

Smart hostel in the centre of the old town of Ponta Delgada. Great facilities, welcoming staff and tasty breakfast. The family room was perfect, with comfy beds, two bathrooms and a lounge area.

No elevator to get our heavy bags to the third floor.

Pretty good breakfast. It's close to free street parking, perfect if you have a rental. Also close to a convenience store and other restaurants. And what 15 mins by foot to a mall. It's about 30-40 mins to Sete Cidades and Ilha Villa do Franca. The room setup is pretty good, there is thermostat for the room which is perfect for hot summer days, you can cool it down. You get fresh towels everyday. I slept well, considering it's a hostel, usually I can't get proper sleep when I stay in hostels. Staff is easy to communicate with. They send you info on how to check in, free parking, etc. I arrived in the evening and wanted to find a place to buy stuff and they responded quickly. Wifi is ok, not the best, but it works.

Azores hostel that feels like home

It was modern, clean, great breakfast and Patricia at the front desk made me feel ar home. She helped with taxi and tour booking and also great conversation.

The pillows and the bed sheets were not good quality and the AC in the room didn't work as expected.

Good location, nice staff, no frills

This was a pretty basic place so don’t expect any extra frills, but basic is what I expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was decent, not too hard or too soft, but the pillows were a little hard. The curtains were great…except that the thing attaching them to the rail on the ceiling didn’t allow for the curtains to go all the way to the wall so there was a 2 inch gap letting light in. It was a quiet place which was nice, and it was an easy 5 minute walk to the city gate and church. Lots of good food in the area. Overall nice hostel/hotel. (Note: I had a private room.)

The biggest issue for me was the curtains not going all the way over. It was so close and the curtains were amazingly thick (I like it dark when I sleep) so it was disappointing that the rail thing physically would not go over any farther. Breakfast wasn’t great. There was one of those metal containers with eggs and bacon but nothing to actually keep them warm. I went to breakfast at 8:15 one day, just 15 minutes after breakfast starts, and they were already cold.

Ilha hostel and suites was a fantastic experience

Fantastic breakfast always freshly prepared each morning. The rooms were nicely laid out with lots of communal and private spaces. Locker storage was easy and secure. It was a great place to stay as a solo traveller and great location.

I don't have any improvements, the hostel was exactly what I needed and a great place to stay.
