Very nicely located accommodation

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received many recommendations for activities and good restaurants. The location by the river is beautiful and if the weather allows it you can have breakfast directly on the riverside terrace. There are also canoes which you can use free of charge to go and see e.g. the Kingfisher Waterfall. The trip there and back is very nice, even if the waterfall itself is a little underwhelming and can become quite crowded. The room was very tastefully appointed and cosy.

While the room had very nice atmospheric/mood lighting it had no main light so it could be quite dark inside the room. There was also a somewhat musty smell in the room, which we could not get rid off during our 3 nights stay. The breakfast offered cereals, toast & jam, some fresh fruits, croissants and (South Africa typical) a very egg heavy menu. Unfortunately there was very little in alternative healthy options. Overall the breakfast quality was ok, but not great.

Sehr schöne Lage und für einen Kurzaufenthalt zu empfehlen.

Der von uns gebuchte Bungalow war sehr liebevoll und individuell eingerichtet, die gesamte Lodge wunderbar gelegen und mit einigen Möglichkeiten zur sportlichen Betätigung ausgestattet (Kanus, Tretboot). Die Mitarbeiter super lieb und freundlich - ganz besonderes Lob!

Im oberen Stockwerk - der Kinder - war leider ein sehr intensiver nicht ganz angenehmer Geruch ( Holz?) - okay - aber nicht optimal.

Incredible location, brilliant staff, great local food.

Amazing location, so tranquil right on the river. Loved our room, quirky stay. We took a canoe up the river to the waterfall with a picnic, best day ever. Comfortable bed and very clean. The staff were brilliant, super helpful and had the best recommendations. We had some of the best food at Girls on the Square and Ilali. Breakfast was delicious.

Nothing we didn’t like, it’s not very modern but that’s part of the charm.

Beautiful hidden gem in Wilderness

The most beautiful location on the river. Canoes free to use which was great fun doing a canoeing / hiking to a waterfall day trip. We stayed at the boathouse which was gorgeous, right on the water. Comfortable bed, good shower. Lovely staff who gave great recommendations. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend, you won’t regret it!!!

A perfect stop off on The Garden Route

Idyllic sport by the river, yet an easy walk to the beach . Highly recommend the Kayaks up the river, then walk up to the waterfall

Beautiful boutique riverside stay

Excellent location, absolutely gorgeous room, v comfy bed. The staff were so lovely and went the extra mile to be as helpful as possible. Breakfast was delicious. There are free canoes to borrow, so we paddled up the river and then walked the short hike up to the waterfalls - what an amazing day. A really great place to stay whilst in Wilderness.

Fantastic rooms and breakfast !

I liked everything. Nice location. Very nice place. Very nice staff. Borrowed kayaks for free to explore the river. Very good breakfast.

Amazing location, great staff but didn’t feel value for money

Staff were very friendly and the location was amazing. Breakfast was plentiful and well prepared. Candi made us feel very welcome and we appreciate her attentiveness. We used the free kayaks and went down the river.

The room was very dark, smelt musty and lacked privacy - although when we raised our concerns, an additional blind was installed for us. We didn’t feel the pool was usable as it was only partially filled and had lots debris. Looking at photos, we saw other rooms looked a bit more modern and private which would be better suited for honeymooners but sadly these were booked for our dates. I think our overall experience was tainted by the room which we feel needs some TLC.

Incredible location right on the riverfront. Gorgeous treetop room with uninterrupted views, outdoor shower and tasteful tribal art. Very good breakfast. Wish we had stayed longer!

Exceptional

I've stayed before, maybe 14 or 15 years ago, it was as magical this time as before. The staff, in particular Candy was exceptional. The food, the room, the view, the ambience are all outstanding. I've always thought of Moontide as magical, and I wondered if memory had perhaps been distorted over time. In fact it's even better than my 15 year memory!

Candy and JP were lovely hosts! The location right by the river was superb and the fire place in the lounge was a perfect go to spot for the rainy evening for a night cap. A great expereince overall!

Overall enjoyed our stay

The room was nice, the location was excellent for us to walk our dog. The breakfast was very good. The staff very friendly. Overall we enjoyed our stay

We did enjoy our stay, but the room was slightly disappointing in relation to the photographs, it was nice but not as good as expected. There was a lot of dust/ dirt behind loo door, which is off putting as attention to detailed cleaning is then suspect.

This is such a beautiful place. All the rooms are very tastefully and individually furnished. The location is just perfect. Make sure that you will have a swim in the lagoon and that you stay for a day longer than you had planned.
