Convenient location, easy access to ranua zoo
4.5
The breakfast is very good, and there is a choice of different type of food. Houses are very cosy and clean, there are two bathrooms. The house is super comfortable for four people. Additional persons would sleep in the attic which has less space and less privacy. In the stairs (upstairs and downstairs) protection gates for children. Kitchen very well equipped. Linen is new and of good quality. Comfortable beds. There is a small pharmacy in the reception :) Guests can visit the polar ZOO every day at the same ticket :)

+ quite, secluded, very spacious, nice terrace
+ sauna, parking place, fireplace
+ bonus - watching northern lights from your backyard
our kids loved the place and wanted to only come back here
- was nothing else to do except zoo, for other activities there are limited providers and all was booked out abd prices were much higher than in Rovaniemi

great location and facilities. had a teddy left for our daughter which I thought was lovely.
no black out blinds or curtains

The house was amazing. Loads of space full cooking facilities if you didn’t want to eat out. Transport to the supermarket can be organised if you’re not driving. You just pay once for the zoo and as you’re staying onsite you have full access for your entire stay. Fantastic activities onsite
Nothing

The houses are top with enough space and all things you need. The drying cabinet was very helpful. Kitchen and living room had all important things. We really liked the activities we made (Husky tour, Snowmobile tour and two different Aurora tours.
Very nice guides which we had a lot of fun with (Jamie from Spain to mention :-)
The beds are bit too soft in my opinion. Also at least one double bed should be offered in each house. The showers are very small with not enogh space for big people and have bathtub faucets instead of shower faucets, what limits the space even more.
The reception is not working very well though. They completely messed up our schedule, without giving at least a hint that something changed. They accused us of not looking of the last plan. However, having received our plan about 5 times and no menion of any changes, i saw no need to revisted the plan again. For this reason we, unfortunately, missed the reindeer tour and had no activity on this day. Some of the guys at the reception are not very customer or solution oriented but pay more attention to thefact that you can't prove they were wrong. But others are very helpful.

We stayed in a semi-detached house with 2 bedrooms, kitchen with all the utensils required , sauna, lounge with a fireplace.
Wonderful location.
4.5
Size is like a real semi-detached house. Can accommodate up to 6 people but 2 would have beds directly under roof slope. So my recommendation is 2 - 4 people.
Living area with fire place is nice. Beds are very cozy.
Rooms have not been properly cleaned.
The fireplace was still full of ashes of the previous tenants. Cigarettes were everywhere on the terrace table.
No soundproofing to the neighbors: you could hear every conversation, cough, sneeze.
Breakfast and restaurant quality is general is very, very basic. If you are staying there I wouldn't recommend visiting the restaurant for any meal at all.
We've been there for a "gala dinner" during New Year's Eve which was totally overpriced with almost 100 EUR per person for really bad food and service.

We wanted to visit Ranua wildlife park to see Finnish animals and found it very easy to book an overnight stay in Villa Gulo Gulo. This included a free buffet breakfast as well as access to the wildlife park for 2 consecutive days for the price of one. We went on the afternoon on day of arrival and again the next morning, and saw all the animals over the two days.
We stayed in Ahma which was perfect for a family of 5, and had excellent facilities, including a nice sauna, wood-fired heater and particularly nice lighting.
We also booked an experience via Villa Gulo Gulo and went on an Aurora hunt by snowmobile at night. The warm clothing provided is a must as the temperatures are well below freezing and the wind chill factor is significant.
Our Spanish tour guide was friendly and informative and we enjoyed hot Glögi and toasted marshmallows by a fire in the wilderness. Seeing the snow-laden trees at night was a special experience and this tour exceeded our expectations, even though we did not see the Aurora on the tour (due to cloudy weather).
We would highly recommend staying at Villa Gulo Gulo with a family.
Everything was great!

We had the most magical time that we will always remember, the food was excellent, staff very helpful and excursions spot on. The accommodation was great and very good value also.
Bad pillows and no fire starting material in the cabin

The property was huge with space to sleep 6 people, sauna, two bathrooms and a living area. Our back door opened onto the forest which was simply stunning.
Not much not to like!

excellent location and the accommodation was stunning
4.5
Excellent location, fantastic views, zoo, comfortable house with sauna and a lot of winter fun!
Our cottage was not soundproof at all.
Internet quality in the cottage was very poor.
We are a bit disappointed by the staff. It's not our first stay, and they were always really perfect. This time nothing a bit extra was not possible. Also we received contradictory answers to the same questions. We hope so much that it happened because of the holidays period, and next time will be better

Big size lodge house, with nice sauna, and big dryer for clothes, just 5 min walk to the zoo
The charging point for electric car is not working
4.5
The accommodation I stayed in was a six berth lodge.
the lodge was beautiful in and out, very spacious and most importantly very clean.
we had trouble with a light and the maintenance team came straight away and repaired it.
4.5
The accommodation was perfect for our family, plenty of space, amazing drying cupboard for damp clothes, beautiful scenery. The zoo on the resort was fantastic and having so many activities available from the resort was great. All trips were organised really well and the 3 we chose were all fabulous (husky ride, searching for Santa and snowmobile visit to a reindeer farm). All the staff were really helpful too, thank you Gulo Gulo!

Would like to have black out curtains and AC. Otherwise very good standard

Facilities were amazing , clean and everything you needed . The log burner was great after a cold day of activities! Staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.
4.5
the chalet is big and comfortable. nice to have activities at the chalet.
limited eating options without car. Just 2 restaurants there.
4.5
Spacious cottage for our family (2+2), for tourists but still quite intimate.
4.5
Breakfast was ok what you normally get when going abroad. The lodges are lovely and warm with a beautiful sauna and log fire. There is a terrace at the rear looking into the forest lovely to sit out and relax. The guides were very friendly and helpful.
look into details about the excursions as the ones that we went on were not worth it. Reindeer farm was good going to see the polar bears didnt happen as sadly one had died sio the took us at 8am to see the Dohe which are similar to red foxes, waste of time. seeing santa forget it, so poor it spoilt our highlight of the holiday.
