Decor and styling was beautiful - great location although a little noisy.
I would have liked not to have to pay for an extra drink at breakfast.
4.5
Staff is super friendly, attentive, and helpful. Room was totally beautiful.
Only problem was a mildewy smell coming from the AC unit. The system needs to be cleaned.

I loved everything about this beautiful hotel. With only 4 rooms It’s set up to feel more like a home you have been welcomed into. The entire staff was exceptional and went out of their way to attend any need. I loved my room, the huge patio and floor to ceiling windows which bathed the room in natural light. It was such a wonderful place to relax after a day exploring the city.
I stayed at a few other boutique hotels while I was in Oaxaca and this was by far my favorite.
I will definitely be back.

Beautiful house and very well decorated.
There is a party house besides Casa Carmen and whenever they are celebrating something you can’t sleep until it finishes (around 1 am local time).

Every attention to detail was well thought out. Bathroom
fixtures were rock solid and well designed and extravagant.
the linens, bath towels, bath product were all high-end and go with the general theme. The location is fab too, and room flowers, flowers for the terrace, all amazing details

The location is wonderful. It is close to the busy center (about 5 blocks) which is great because it’s not as noisy and you don’t get a lot of foot traffic outside of the hotel. very comfy bed and loved the outdoor tub and hammock!
you have to ring the doorbell to access the hotel each time you return. they have someone who always opens the door. so it’s a matter of preference

Friendly staff, great room, excellent breakfast, good location, … even good value!

Wow! beautiful property, made us feel like it was our home. The genuine reason was the staff, especially Miriam. They went out of their way to make us feel so special. Breakfast was amazing! we were treated to a whole range of Oaxacan specialities, and amazing home made salsas. Best Hot Chocolate we had. The rooms were beautiful, very comfortable beds and lots of outdoor space to relax in. Fantastic location, close walk to some great restaurants and bars. We were able to find parking quite easily on the street. Absolutely loved it, and wish we had stayed a little longer. A true gem of a find.
Nothing ! A gem of a place. Wish we had stayed longer.

Great location boutique hotel. Breakfast was served in our room with an exceptional and diverse number of menu options. Loved having some outdoor space including a soaking tub. Staff was wonderful and helpful with anything on-site.
Noisy club on the block but only on Saturday night. Would not let it deter you from booking since the other nights are fine.

This is a charming small boutique-style hotel with a lot of nice details. The room was nice, spacious and very clean. Also, we enjoyed the breakfast very much, as well as the intimate atmosphere.
The hotel staff doesn‘t speak any English at all which made communicating about the simplest things unnecessarily complicated and difficult.
We tried to book tours and restaurants with the help of the hotel in advance and heard back at first. Unfortunately communication stopped at some point, our tour has never been booked, leaving us in the unclear about tour and restaurant bookings. It almost ruined our stay as we had to find a tour operator on short notice when we realized that nothing had been arranged by the hotel upon arrival. All in all a lot of hassle for a short stay in Oaxaca.

great location and the house and design were beautiful
too noisy, my room was in front of the reception so I has to listen to everyone and everything, guests coming in, asking, staff arriving plus the noise from the street. impossible to rest/ sleep
The tiles in bathroom are horrible! Merida wanna be but new, is like entering a Cielito Querido Cafe bathroom… they look just cheap

A very welcoming and well designed hotel, with a lovely staff and delicious breakfast. We loved our room with the terrace and outdoor bathtub.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room was tastefully designed, as was the entire hotel. There are only 4 rooms so you're really well looked after. They brought amazing breakfasts to the room every morning. We had our fill of corn tacos etc, and our English stomachs were struggling, so we were able to have baked oatmeal, orange juice and other fresh green smoothies. Was great. The staff were helpful and friendly. They gave amazing mezcal cocktails when we arrived. The patio room is amazing, and we were able to lie down and enjoy the sun for hours, getting away from the quick madness of Oaxaca City. The bathroom is absolutely unbelievable. What a beautiful space.
There is a sun hat provided, bath stuff for the outside bath, Molten Brown shower gel, conditioner and shampoo. There's a great safe, umbrella, slippers and bathrobes. A great stay. There's also a small fridge full of great snacks and booze. There's a supermarket down the road which is of course cheaper, but it's nice when you're boiling and want a quick beer. Also an amazing location! Really only 5 minutes till you hit amazing restaurants, and a 30 second walk from a small hole-in-the-wall Meszcal bar.
Nothing could have been better from the hotel. Things outside the hotel's control: It's a loud city, music, cars, police, celebrations for weddings, funerals, christenings, so if you're looking for a really quiet stay, then this might not be for you. During the night it was very quiet, but the city is buzzing (as are the bugs) up to about 9pm and the city wakes up at about 6am. It reminded me very much of the Riads in Morocco. Outside is chaotic, quick, loud, energetic, but then you step into a riad and you feel safe and calm, this is the same with Casa Carmen.

The breakfast each morning was absolutely phenomenal. Staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. And it was just an incredibly STUNNING hotel - beautifully and thoughtfully designed. I cannot wait to return!!
I have no complaints!

Wonderful terassa
Very high ceilings
Great location
Nice city
When you come to the property, you do not have key from the main door. So you have to call the door bell every time you are back to the hotel

The room was beautiful with many little thoughtful touches. The included breakfast was incredible. the hotel is on a Main Street and walking distance to everything.
The location was next to an events center so every night of the weekend the noise was very loud into the night. They did provide earplugs though.

Casa Carmen was a very special experience. Since the moment we checked in we appreciated how this place noticed every detail of your stay. It's a very intimate experience with only 4 rooms. We had breakfast included and enjoyed the food and expresso they had for us. The room was beautiful and so well decorated. Everything was clean and eclectic. On top of that the location was perfect, far enough from the zocola but close enough to everything with a Juicery across the street that had amazing ginger shots for less that $1. I loved it here and recommend to anyone staying in Oaxaxa Centro.
Nothing, everything was perfect. At first it was kind of weird that we had to knock to enter the the venue but later that added to the safety of everything, like we had 24/7 door service.
