About this apartment rental
This 2 bedroom 2 bath unit is located on the intercostal and just 1 mile south of Siesta Key public beach. There are no stairs to worry about here! With this unit you are on the ground floor steps to the parking lot, heated pool, and community facilities. Enjoy beautiful views of the intercostal from the pier or walk to Siesta Key public beach approx. 1 mile north or Beach Access 1/2 mile south. Lush tropical landscaping throughout the complex gives Bay Oaks a unique relaxing feel.

My mom and I had a good time we enjoyed the bay, pool and the beach. This property is an ideal place to stay it's close to a Publix and trolley is close to take to the beach and village.

We spent a week at this property in February 2023. The condo was just as advertised. Everything was very neat and clean and as advertised. The location was OK - would’ve been nicer had it been closer to the beach. The pool was nice and the property was very quiet.

Overall great property but without beach access challenging and the pool is small. Unit very nice. They also need gas grills not charcoal. Shower head needs cleaning.

The condo was nice, but the maintenance of the condo was not, Lights needed replaced, no towel holders in the master bathroom, no closets in the spare bedroom. No stoppers in kitchen sink, so sink could hold water. No linens in the condo when we got there, but did get towels or linens the next day. Found two dirty wash cloths on top of the shower curtain in master bath. Lid on the coffee pot was broken. Toilet paper holder was improperly installed in the spare bathroom and couldn't hold toilet paper roll. Electric plug on the patio is a shock hazard and needs repair.

The rental process was very straightforward, and we loved the location. I will state some of the pros & cons from our stay in early March 2022.
Pros:
Lighting was good, and the fan in the second bedroom was nice. We had clean towels, clean sheets, and most surfaces were well taken-care of. The showers worked great, there was lots of seating, plenty of dishes and serving trays if we needed them. The check-in process was just arriving and unlocking the key from the lockbox on the door - very easy! As was checkout. This property seems mostly well-maintained, and we had pleasant (but delayed, as I messaged on a weekend) correspondence with the property owner. This was a very affordable option, considering Siesta Key rental prices, and is in walking distance of the beach and restaurants like Captain Curts. Having one provided parking spot was very convenient too.
Cons:
I will try to just name the big things. The front door sticks so horribly that we had difficulty getting in and out and locking the door properly. The condo door is located right next to the elevator, and people's voices traveled seamlessly through the door when waiting to use or exiting the elevator. We had an infrequent, but loud, unidentifiable beeping sound coming from the living room throughout our stay. The twin-size mattresses in the second bedroom were fairly uncomfortable, at least for adults. The master bedroom inner door handle kept dislodging and falling to the floor when pulled on to open the door.
Overall, we would be happy to stay here again, especially if the property owner would be willing to fix up these features.

Great, affordable place to stay right on the Key
The rental process was very straightforward, and we loved the location. I will state some of the pros & cons from our stay in early March 2022.

I loved having a washer and dryer in the room and I loved the covered parking and the beautiful grounds. All-in-all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

For the price it’s worth it. However there were maintenance issues. Unclear instructions about what the key fob was to access pool. Single house key instead of key or card fobs to get into residence made it difficult for multiple people staying. Had cable issues with unclear solutions to fix the issue.

Apartment was under renovation so we had an excellent rate. We loved the first floor - easy access to pool and beaches. We did have internet access problems that the office could not solve so we used our computers in the activity center nearby. Only one roll of toilet paper and no tissue but we were told that ahead of time. Bed was very comfortable. The main bathroom was extremely tight.

From a 1 to 10, I would give it a 5. WIFI did not work, controls for the TVs where missing and the way the cable TV was strange. Only local channels on the bedroom. Comforter had a wet stain when we arrived. Unable to use it. Property is good, good pool and close to the Beach Access. Towels were a good touch; however, not enough blankets. We wish they could have told us. Somewhat difficult to find. Apartment was next dumpster and they left the door open, so smell was not good coming in.

I found water in the master bath upon my arrival, cleaned it up, but it kept happening. Mgmnt didn’t know where it was coming from and the rental agency said it wasn’t a problem that fell within their responsibility. One from the mgmnt said “lose my number, don’t call me again.” On the 8th day, the water spread from the master bath to master bedroom, down the halo, into the 2nd bedroom, by the front door, and into the kitchen. I was left on my own until a plumber came from a unit on another floor and told me I had to evacuate was 10 PM on Sunday. No help was offered to me. The next day the unit owner was finally identified to me and contacted me; he found a vacancy on Longboat Key, but the Rental agency took no responsibility and neither did the building mgmnt. And the refused to reimburse me for the 3 days of flooding during my first week because of a legal clause saying they don’t have to. The owner and building mgmnt were also unwilling. Throughout this worsening situation, the rental agency did nothing. And just to add a little more pain, the wi-fi didn’t work. Never again.

Our vacation rental was experience was great. I received immediate feedback for all the questions I had. It was very easy to access our rental and had all of the instructions and regulations right on the app. We were centrally located and our unit was very nice. My only complaint is that the master bedroom tub floor is very bumpy and almost soft feeling. After reading other reviews it appears it has been a problem for a while now.

First of all, I can't tell you how much I loved the mattress in the master bedroom. I should have taken a look at the brand, bc I would buy it for my home. Everything else is above my expectations-fully stocked kitchen cabinets and washer and dryer. That was a lifesaver! Don't forget to look in the patio storage shed. Lots of Beach equipment to borrow! Only two things that were not awesome--the master shower has an uneven floor causing both my husband and I to slip and bruise ourselves and I can't find the remote to make the master tv work. Otherwise, we were extremely happy.

We stayed here for 9 nights. We specifically wanted a ground floor location so the kids could easily go out and play. This location was perfect for this and the condo felt very safe to be on the ground floor. Overall the condo was clean and very spacious for my family of 4. The grounds of the condo are well kept and the pool was clean. My wife and I even got the chance to play some billards in the main building. The location is good but wish there were closer beach accesses. This is nothing the condo owner can do, but important to note for other travelers. We ended up driving to the beach access 12 every morning since the walk was too long for the kids. There are tips only rides you can take and the trolley, but out of convenience and to carry the beach stuff it was easier to drive. The WiFi is really bad. The Internet speed is fine, but you basically have to stay in the master bedroom to keep a consistent connection (tried on multiple devices). The cost of a decent router is so cheap, this should not be a problem people should have. We ended up having to clean a bunch of dishes when we got there. There were about a dozen bowls, mugs, and utensils with caked on melted cheese. Not sure what the previous guests were doing with so much cheese but they obviously didn't take the time to clean up. We also found a half eaten hot dog in the fridge. Wish the cleaner spent a little extra time to give the fridge and cupboards a once over. Overall we were happy with our stay.

We stayed in this condo for the second year & have rented it again for next year for same time in March. While not the most updated one it is very clean and suitable for our needs while in Sarasota. Were pleased to have nice new towels and plenty of them even when our grandkids visited. Was hoping the bathtub in master bedroom had been replaced but everything else made for a great stay. I think insurance is supposed to cover the tub problem so maybe by next Spring it will be fixed. That is the only reason for the four stars. If you need a clean, convenient, comfortable place for vacation across from Siesta Key beach, this is a great one!

Lovely condo complex and nicely furnished unit. However, there were serious issues that will never allow us to stay there again. For starters, the air conditioning didn't work. We reported this the second day and nothing was done. We again reported the problem with two days to go. A service company was called and examined the unit and found that the unit can not operate below 73 degrees. It was either too small a unit or there were other problems such as "Long Lines" application. Nonetheless, during the warm days, we could not get the room temp below 74F. Fortunately, the unit had a box fan which we utilized each evening in the bedroom. The Master bathroom tub was very unstable. it actually rocked and one had to be careful about balance. The second bedroom had slat shades, however many of the slats were missing which resulted in not being able to dress in the second bedroom. There was only one TV and that was in the living room. The Master bedroom had a TV that would only operate a DVR. No television was possible. We were extremely disappointed in the unit and would suggest other renters might reconsider other properties. Love to receive some type of refund!
