About this house rental
Peaceful lakeside cottage newly renovated with its own dock and swim float . Enjoy swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Secluded site with 150 feet of shoreline.
Located on beautiful Beech Hill Pond. On the shore enjoy sleeping on the hammock or lounging by outdoor fire pit. Listen to loon calls and enjoy the ducks as they swim by the cottage. Nice porch for those rainy days. You will enjoy every minute of it and will never want to leave!
Bring your own boat for fishing on the lake (please keep to small boats under 15', absolutely no pontoon boats). . Or just enjoy the provided kayaks and paddle boards. The sandy bottom descends to 6' deep water within 15' feet of the shoreline. Very clear water that you can see down about 20 feet or more.
Great location, can swim in a beautiful cool lake and still close enough to spend the day in Acadia and Bar Harbor. Both are located about 50 minutes away.
Beech Hill Pond is 4.5 miles long, half a mile wide, and up to 104 feet deep. Trout, salmon, and other species of fish have been observed in the lake. Bald Eagles can be seen hunting right in front of the cottage. We saw one catch a large fish right in front of us. The Loons are prevalent on the lake and can be heard calling in the night in the quiet still air.
Fish found in Beech Hill Pond include salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, brook trout, small mouth bass, and several others. The largest lake trout in Maine was caught on the lake in 1958. It weighed 31.5 pounds.
Beech Hill Pond was said to be one of the "best bets for Maine lake trout" by Tom Seymour. It is not possible to fish from the lake's shore, although fishing can be done out on the lake.

Our stay was excellent. Very well furnished with supplies and extras. Very quiet. Steps from the lake. Would stay again. Thx.

The house has been very nicely remodeled and is well appointed. Beds and couches were comfortable, views of the lake were spectacular, kitchen had everything we needed. Although the lake is very densely developed, this cottage is well screened from its neighbors and the lake was surprisingly quiet. There were some motor boats, but none were annoying. A cormorant visited daily and once a bald eagle circled in front of the cottage and plucked a fish out right in front of us. We enjoyed kayaking, SUP boarding, and swimming, as well as walking on the lake road. I highly recommend this lovely lakeside rental!

We loved staying at the camp! Everything we needed was provided, more than we expected. Sunrise was absolutely beautiful every morning. We used the kayaks and paddle boards, rented a pontoon boat for a day.
We are in most nights and had great supplies for cooking. Great fire pit with gas grill. If I ever get back to Maine I will definitely rent here again.

This is a very peaceful place! The cottage had everything you might need. My teens enjoyed the provided paddle boards. My husband set up his work laptop in the front bedroom and enjoyed the beautiful views while he worked. I loved listening to the sound of the water on the shore. Would love to return someday.

Quaint cottage on beautiful pond. Not too far from Ellsworth, Bangor, and Acadia National Park. Very relaxing!

We wanted a cottage a bit away from the bustle of Bar Harbor as a hub to explore Acadia and this fit the bill. The Cottage is clean, well appointed and appears to have been recently renovated. Located about 30 mins from Ellsworth and 1 hour from Acadia, it was far enough away from the Columbus Day crowds. Ellsworth is good size (~8K residents) has several restaurants and a small downtown. There is also a well-stocked general store in Otis about 10 minutes away.
We had a wonderful time just hanging at the cottage and exploring the area.

We spent a week at the house on Beech Hill Pond. Our stay consisted of two couples and there was plenty of room for us all. The house comes very clean, very well equipped and we were able to sit (hang out) both inside and outside. We utilized the bbq and the bonfire pit.
The house is located just 20 minutes from Ellsworth and about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor. There is plenty to do both at the house, on the lake, and within a short distance of the house.
This is our second stay at this house and we are looking forward to returning.
Veena the owner was great and easy to keep in contact with.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week stay. Accommodations were just as described. Clean, well appointed. Had everything we needed. Hosts responded to questions immediately. Would highly recommend for quiet relaxing vacation but easy drive for hiking Acadia and Bar Harbor jaunts.

Had our 31st anniversary and decided to stay at some far remote and calm place. It did it !!! One of the best places we've stayed so far, and the whole time was spend enjoying every moment of it !
As other reviews have - the area and the cottage are a great fit to off season travelers. When we wanted to extend our stay by one extra night Veena was so nice accommodating it. Thank you Veena far all you do !
Regards, Aleks & Inna.

Clean and modern cabin on an absolutely beautiful property! Nice kayaks and paddle boards to use. Screened in porch. Campfire. All simply wonderful. Sitting by the water at dusk listening to the loons was enchanting. Great hiking nearby, Eagle Bluff was as amazing as Acadia with no tourists!

We enjoyed our stay immensely and are looking forward to staying again. The house was just the right size and was recently redone. It was very clean and came very well stocked, we didn't have to bring a thing! The cabin is in a great serene location and was perfect for us.
Veena was very helpful and was a great host!

We enjoyed our time in the house. The property was extremely clean and the air conditioning in the house is a nice touch, that out of the ordinary in this part of Maine. The lake and lake access are excellent.

The house is terrific - well decorated, and well stocked with just about anything you could need. We like to cook (yes, even on vacation) and the kitchen did not lack anything we could have wanted or needed for tools and dishes. We even entertained and had plenty of everything. Veena is very responsive to emails with answers to questions. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful relaxing week on the pond. We sunbathed on the dock, swam, kayaked and paddle boarded on that amazing crystal clear pond all day. The cottage was spotless and the kitchen well appointed and had everything we needed. We loved the family of loons that were always around. At night the stars were dazzling! I highly recommend this little piece of heaven on Beech Hill Pond! Thank you Veena for sharing your beautiful home.

Amazing waterfront cabin
Great cabin on a large pond, with amazing views from every window. Cabin had everything needed for a great vacation, including kayaks, paddleboards, a dock and a platform. Highly recommend and we would definitely stay at this cabin the next time we are in Beach Hill Pond.

A lovely Acadia honeymoon

Loon Haven
Loved sitting on little deck in high, comfortable chairs listening to and watching the 6 loons on the pond.. There was a beautiful screen porch with seatng for several but we never used it because the bugs were gone for the season.
The camp is located close to Acadia National Park whiere we spent one day exploring and another hiking up Mt Cadillac. We also explored the peninsulas on either sides of Mt Desert, enjoying the little fishing towns and the unique restaurants there.
There were canoes, water toys, boat dock and swimming dock available but we only took a short swim once--too busy exploring beautiful area!
The camp was well appointed-comfortable beds, (with beautiful sunrises each morning), seating for many in living area, updated bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen.
Veena and Wil were easy to reach if we had questions and went out of their way for us. When we texted the first afternoon to say we couldn't find any wine glasses, Wil went to store and got us some!
We had a wonderful time, loved the camp, setting, and location. Oh, there is an LL Bean outlet store on way to Acadia where we did some shopping ( we can only order online here and we love their products!) We would definitely stay again but are from Washington state and don't get that way often!

A Perfect Vacation!
This house was absolutely perfect! The four of us were very comfortable. The house was recently re-done and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed, even skewers for s'mores and a pancake griddle! It is so beautiful and secluded there, yet only an hour from Acadia and Bar Harbor. The fire pit and hammock were so great to have, as well as 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. Cannot say enough about the loons - we loved them!! Not only did we hear them, but out on kayaks (or even from the dock) we were so close to them and got to observe them for a while. There are ducks that come to visit, so very sweet, and also hummingbirds! We will definitely be coming back!

Impressions and findings
Our daughters and Grandchildren came for day visits and loved the Cottage also. They did all the swimming/tubing.. us old folks dangled our feet in the water from the dock! FYI:here was no tea kettle for heating water for instant coffee or making hot chocolate. There was also no pizza cutter for the pizza we made one evening. Other than that we had no problems and really enjoyed the stay. The bald eagle landing in the pine tree next to the outdoor table/benches was something we will never forget since we all were only 30ft away! The ducks were VERY friendly but we did not feed them as instructed and they soon got the message over a few days!

Amazing Pond!
The pond is beautiful and clean. It's great to have a dock and float available as well as kayaks and paddle board.
The only thing I would change is for there to be places to hang wet towels and bathing suits, especially when it rains.
The kitchen is very well equipped. We cook most meals there and had no issues.
Great place!

Perfect getaway
Our family of 4 (kids 6 and 11) had a wonderful escape at this well appointed home. The house is updated and very clean with two lovely bathrooms and two bedrooms. The view is breathtaking - right on the water. We used the kayaks and stand up paddle boards every day. Our girls LOVED the swim out dock and played lots of games in the crystal clear pond. I recommend having life jackets for the kids because it can get a little deep and this gives them some security in the water:) We spent our days swimming and relaxing by the water and had smores by the fire pit in the evening. Bar harbor was about an hour for us and we took one trip to Acadia, which was lovely. I highly recommend this property. Owner is very nice and responsible if you need her. We used the kids fishing rod and bought worms for bait at the Otis General Store which is just minutes away. We miss the house already!

Just what we needed!!!
Beautiful views directly on the water! Cottage is lovely and comfortable. Very airy but also cozy feel with warm wood details. Extremely clean. Convenience if 2 bathrooms. My mom appreciated the ease of walk in shower. It's so nice to have a great outdoor area to enjoy while also having the option to sit inside and not miss any of the lake views! We really needed this!

Gorgeous Getaway on the Water
My two friends and I had a great time here. The house is beautiful and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of entertainment. The views of the pond can't be beat. We traveled to Acadia from here 2 days in a row. The trip was roughly an hour. Veena was a gracious host — very helpful and communicative. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the water!

We were very pleasantly surprised by how beautiful, clean and well appointed this home is! Everything from the cabin, beds, linens, towels, washer/dryer, furniture, grill, fire pit, the lake, dock, fall colors and even the full moon were perfect! Came here with my wife and friend and the size of the cabin was perfect. Everything in the house is clean and organized. The lake that it’s situated on is pristine and calm, and the inclusion of kayaks and paddle boards made the experience that much better. And a clear night sky will reveal the stars in their full beauty...a breathtaking sight. We drove to Acadia almost everyday and it never felt far. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an escape during these strange times.

Beautiful and Relaxing Lakeside Retreat
We loved staying at this beautiful lakeside home! It was recently renovated, so the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice, and there are lots of fun amenities (e.g., kayaks, paddleboards, etc.). The property was extremely clean upon arrival, and the property manager is taking extra precautions due to Covid, which was appreciated. The property manager was very responsive and great to work with. The lake was relaxing and Acadia National Park was only 45 minutes away. My son did not want to leave! We hope we can come back soon; thanks for making our stay so wonderful!

Perfect family week
We spent the week at Veena's gorgeous cabin for our 5yo's birthday. We had a blast kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming out to the dock, watching the ducks, sitting around the fire, etc. It's newly renovated, cozy but VERY comfortable for our family of 4. My 5yo was thrilled to have her own fancy bathroom. WiFi works great, Roku with Netflix and several other streaming services, air conditioning is new and works very well, there's everything you need to be comfortable cooking in the kitchen. Veena is courteous and extremely responsive. We can't say enough good things about this property.

Absolutely Exceptional Lakefront Oasis
Our time at this lake front was memorable and relaxing! The house was even more spectacular in person. We marveled at the sunrises, view of the brilliant sun setting sky, the sound of loons at dusk and dawn... I can’t think of a more magical place to retreat. We spent a little over to weeks in July 2020. The house was well-appointed, cozy and very clean. There were ample supplies of cleaning products and other knick-knacks. The manager, Veena, was attentive and responsive - ahead of and during our trip. It was our first vacation during Covid-19, we felt safe and that safety was a top priority. She also found biking trails for us and places to enjoy the outdoors in the area and was a delight. We truly enjoyed, loved the house and we will be back.
