Difficulté à trouver un emplacement de parking à proximité. Accès difficile. Mateira est une ville magnifique mais peu recommandée en cas de mobilité réduite.

Climb up into the rafters and enjoy a unique stay in an old amazing church-like atmosphere.

Amazing stay in a perfect area of town. Stunning room; we stayed in the small room in which you climbed up into the rafters into a cave-like setting. You must be agile to stay there, but it felt like we were kids again in our own little secret hideaway. The breakfast in the morning is delicious in a gorgeous setting. This is THE place to stay.

Supertrevlig vistelse - ser fram emot att komma tillbaka!

Hotellet ligger väldigt bra - meter ifrån centrala Sassi samtidigt som man inte är långt ifrån parkeringsgatorna som ligger utanför Sassi. Personalen var jättetrevlig. Barnen älskade den fina jacuzzin i rum 1005.

Det kommer lite ljud från gatan (gående, musik) - är man lättstörd så är det inte toppen. Men vi sov bra!

Prachtige locatie om fantastisch Matera te bezoeken.

In eerste instantie hadden wij een andere kamer geboekt maar bij aankomst vonden wij dit toch niet zo'n goed idee want het was met een smalle trap naar boven en als we zouden slapen moest er dan een luik naar beneden zodat de ruimte afgesloten zou worden en we niet naar beneden konden vallen. Gelukkig hadden ze nog een andere kamer vrij en konden wij deze tegen betaling van een meerprijs boeken. Deze kamer was perfect. Groot, mooie badkamer, jacuzzi, dakterras. Ook het ontbijt was heerlijk met goede cappuchino.

Fast netter Aufenthalt in Mönchszelle

Stimmungsvolles Hotel, Rezeption und Frühstück im tollen Ambiente einer alten Kirche. Terrasse mit Blick auf die Sassi. Sehr gute Kommunikation und Personal. Frühstück sehr gut, sogar mit Ei und Wurst. Obst, Säfte, Croissant....habe das Einzelzimmer gebucht, 7 qm. Es liebevoll meine Mönchszelle genannt. Da ich meistens unterwegs war, war die Größe in Ordnung, Dusche und Toilette enthalten. Man muss beachten, das ein Medium size koffer sich höchstens auf dem kleinen Tisch mit Stuhl öffnen lässt. Keine andere Möglichkeit.

Plastik-Bezug unter dem Bett, trotz Klimaanlage war der Raum sehr stickig. Leider war in dem Raum ein unangenehmer Geruch, welcher wahrscheinlich von dem Abfluss der Dusche herrührt und bei besonderen Wetterlagen ( bedeckt, regnerisch) zum Vorschein kommt. Bei voller Sonne scheint er zurück zu gehen, ansonsten ist er sehr unangenehm. Ärgerlich fand ich, das das Rezeptionspersonal es als Phantasie abgetan hat, obwohl das Problem bekannt ist und auch schon von anderen Gästen erwähnt wurde. Das Nachtpersonal hat es wahrgenommen (keine Sonne) aber an die Rezeption verwiesen. Da der Gulli-Geruch äußerst unangenehm ist, hätte ich mir zumindest eine Akzeptanz des Problems gewünscht und eine freundliche Entschuldigung.

Authentic experience in the heart of Sassi

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Sassi. If you are looking for an authentic "grota" experience, this is it. The room had a very high ceiling and was very cosy. The staff was very helpful, the lobby is also very nice. In front of the hotel there is an amazing view of the old town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Best place to stay in Matera

Wonderful stay from check-in to departure. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff were welcoming and very helpful, offering tips on activities and places to visit. The single room is tiny but perfect for a one-night stay, with a great view of the cathedral.

A room with a view and a half!

We had chosen a room with a view, and although the windows were small, waking up looking at the main terrace of Matera was definitely stunning. The room was a tufa vaulted room, adequate in size with a nice bathroom and large shower area. It sat on top of the main hotel lobby (ex-church), and was completely quiet except for the sounds of the town rising up to this eerie. The sun streaming into the room in the morning was only slightly better than the glow of the reflected rose coloured stone of Matera in the evening sun. The breakfast were good although someone got to a lot of it before we arrived. Matera is stunning but watch out for the knees on those endless steps.

To have a room like this in Matera doesn't allow for silly grumbles!

What an amazing location! Perfectly located in the sassi--the terraces are incredible. Matera is an exceptional spot to vacation, very beautiful extremely memorable. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful and personable. We felt very taken care of!

One of the best places i have stayed. Great atmosphere! Great location, everythin is near, yet the place is quiet. Its close to the bus station. Authentic place, partly dug in a rock. Amazing view from the terrace. My single room was so cozy and unique. The stuff was very nice and helpful. Breakfasts were very good, so many tasty choices (mini pizza, bruschettas, cheese or ham or spinat pies, croissants....and other standard choises like yoghurt, fruit, bread...). I cant imagine better choice to stay in Matera. I would definitely recommend this place.

The view from the room was beautiful, the hotel seems recently renovated and everything looked very new. The room was great: beautiful stone walls, huge bathroom and shower and again a breathtaking view. The host was very helpful and made many recommendations. Would recommend L'Hotel in Pietra to anyone stopping by Matera!

Exceptional.

This is the cheapest cave hotel I've booked during my stay and also the best one. The environment is beyond my expectation. If you want to stay in a cave hotel during your stay in Matera, this is highly recommended. Meanwhile, they also have these music speakers inside of each room, which creates great atmosphere. Location is at the heart of Sassi and only 10min walk from the main Piazza and 15min from Matera Centrale. It comes with a great view where captures the whole view of Sassi. You can hear the echo of the clock during day time and saxophone in the evening. Extremely romantic place. Also, if memory serves, the movie No Time To Die took a few seconds of shooting scene there. So definitely worth visiting. Breakfast is served at their reception hall, with harmonious design of crave and Francesco paintings.
