Best holiday we have had.

The Sunset Palms is a hidden gem in Rarotonga. The location, accommodation is the best that we have had since we have been going on holiday in Rarotonga. We are looking at taking our whanau back with us on our next holiday.

Perfect location with privacy & the beach at your doorstep!

Loved having the privacy & being right on the beach with the gorgeous view of the ocean from the bungalow.

A little piece of paradise

This is such a great place to stay. Nootoa and the family who own and run the properties were so welcoming and friendly. It's on the West side of the island and right on the beach which you can have a dip in to cool down but it isn't really for swimming as there's lots of rocks on that western coastline. The beach is literally right outside and there's never really many or any other people there - it feels really private and there is some snorkeling equipment and reef shoes provided. There's a bbq on the newly refurbished deck and a kitchen for cooking and it has pretty much everything you need to be self-sufficient. Milk, water, bananas, starfruits and passionfruits were provided for us on arrival. Nearby and within walking distance, there's Falafel Shack, Pacific Fish & Chips, Beluga (brunch/lunch) and Castaways (beach bar and restaurant) if you want to dine out or go for a drink. Would recommend a car or scooter to make sure you can get around the island to the markets and good swimming and snorkeling spots - A'roa beach nearby was my favourite. Nootoa kindly helped us to arrange a taxi from and to the airport. Amazing sunsets. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Couldn't get WiFi signal but didn't really matter as was there to switch off and could pick it up elsewhere on the island. It was really hot and humid during our stay and there isn't any AC, just fans, so that was a bit of a struggle at times. Bring earplugs... as with anywhere in Raro, dogs and roosters can be boisterous in the night and morning.

Exceptional

Had everything we needed. Loads of privacy with lots of sunchairs for relaxing. No swimming pool but found splashing in the sea was way more fun and entertaining. Maybe a few more goggles and snorkels would be nice. Would highly recommend to all.

Didn't like leaving, would be my first complaint. Haha. The hot water system needs attention.

The whole location of Sunset Palms was very neat , and quiet. The hosts and Annie and Terry were amazing from when we arrived until we left . They are so friendly and helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable . Highly recommend staying at Sunset Palms. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Absolutely relaxing and enjoyable.

Absolute beachfront with easy access. Lovely view from covered deck Out to, reef and beyond. Adequate private area for sun loungers, outdoor furniture and dining. House is comfortable and has very well equipped kitchen. It’s not 5 star but certainly ticked all of our requirements. Has a great holiday home vibe. Easy walk to several excellent eateries, Island bus stops right outside and a good stretch of beach for walks. Annie our on-site hostess was friendly, helpful and unobtrusive.

Absolutely nothing from our perspective. But like everywhere outside of exclusive resorts in Rarotonga if you don’t like dogs, chickens and roosters with many a cat thrown in Raro is not your place!

Dogs barking most nights. Understandable but others may be more concerned about it. They're free range but very friendly, they just get rambunctious in the middle of the night.

Stunning beach, but you won't see it from the bungalow

Stunning private beach with amazing sunsets in short walking distance. The bungalow was clean and tidy. Nice coffee and breakfast place just around the corner.

NOTE: This complaint is only valid for the Room type: Bungalow with Sea and Garden Views and does not apply to other beachfront bungalows available on the same property. False advertised Sea View and Garden view from the bungalow. This bungalow is located behind beachfront bungalows and absolutely doesn't have Sea or Garden view. The photo in the gallery which supposed to prove the Sea and Garden view was not taken from the bungalow but rather much further closer to the beach, therefore is not what guests will get. See the attached photo taken from the bungalow deck. Quality Wifi signal is only available on the deck, useless inside the bungalow.

It was the most relaxing, fun time I have had in a very long time. Loved every moment.

Breakfast not included but cafes are just a short walk away. We also made our own, sitting on the deck in the mornings with stunning views of the beach and ocean.

Perfection!

We had the most wonderful stay at Sunset Palms. The accommodation has everything you need and more as well as being situated in a perfect location with the added bonus of beautiful evening sunsets. Nootoa, Annie and Terry were the perfect hosts. Always friendly and up for a chat, they did everything to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible- something we really appreciated. The only downside was that we couldn't have stayed longer.

Beautiful and peaceful

Loved our holiday here. The bungalow was super, well equipped, with a nice deck and set just back from the beach. Very nice garden grounds. The lagoon is lovely to swim in, and full of an amazing variety of fish - great for snorkelling. Nootoa's family (Terry and Annie) were fantastic, on hand if help or advice was required, lovely friendly people, it felt like we were with family. The location is great, near a small eco centre / marine rescue/ aquarium based at the Coconut Crab Cafe (loved meeting Ponu the green turtle, and going around with owner Steph at feeding time).

No complaints at all. It was however particularly hot and humid while we were there and a ceiling fan rather than the freestanding floor fan might have made for more comfortable nights.

If you’ll ride my the next message you now my opinion.

In the last day night we have lost money in the amount of 1000€. This despite the fact that we flew to rest in another country. We of bungalow not came out. Prepared luggage and went to bed. All documents and money was lying in the bag. Well that in different places.
