The sitting areas were nice.
The dining room was gorgeous, excellent service, and the food was very good.
It was much more appealing from the outside.
The person who checked us in was not at all personable. One of the first things we were given was a warning about taking the robes, coffee cups, towels, and glasses home with us, or our card would be charged. That was presented as being very presumptuous.
Each time I have reserved with booking.com, all pricing has been included up front....taxes, etc.
I booked this room at 144.00. At checkout, I was charged 163.36. That is extremely irritating. The extra $ was for a donation to the Parkway, sales tax, and occupancy tax.
I have never encountered this. Extremely deceiving.
Our room could have been updated. I don't think a RIP in a chair is part of the historical decor.

Torn wallpaper, aged tile / carpet, must odors, the check in process was like having a tooth pulled. It had been a long day, it was late and the person behind the desk seemed new. I had absolutely no patience for the stupid pieces of yellow ribbon that I was to put on my dogs collar. That is a stupid system. I o my stayed there because it was the only place around that had a room. Never again!
The whole experience.

The history behind the inn made this an interesting stay. Everything was clean and well kept considering the age. It was dog friendly that meant a lot to us who travel with their dog family. Staff was friendly and did their job efficiently. Charlie Ellis at the piano was a delightful treat. We would easily be a great stop for any of our friends.
That we couldn’t stay longer.

History, ambiance.
Carpet not clean, musty smell, very little water pressure, almost no hot water.

I liked that it was a historic hotel and that they tried to keep the history of hotel alive. There was music in the evening and rocking chairs for sitting outside on the patio. The staff was friendly and helpful!
There was restaurant and bar on-sight but we didn't eat there so can't comment.
The breakfast was free, had very little selection. Things like milk were were an extra charge.
The ambiance was nice, it had the feel of this is what it was like to travel and stay over 100 years ago.
Loved that part of the experience.

The location
The pizza drowned in balsamic vinegar.

The nostalgic feeling of walking into the past with this beautiful older inn. Do not expect frills of modern resorts but enjoy the past experience of days gone by. Loved it!
I booked online for 2 adults and received 2 queen beds....( I had my 2 daughters 15 and 16) and myself. Was charged extra $20 for not listing 3 people.

Location was good.
Wheelchair access was bad. Had to back thru entrance and bathroom. Air conditioner did not work. Windows need attention. Breakfast was not good.

Excellent and likable staff, but they were clearly overworked.
shower facility would not keep temp and ranged too hot. Head was 5' from floor.

The inn ŵas beautiful. The free breakfast was good but you have to pay for ĵuice.
The bed was hard.

The historical feel.
There were areas that could needed repair.

It's a beautiful inn and it had the comfort of staying at your beloved grandmother's house. It might not be for everyone, but I enjoy the vintage touch.
The shower was a little finicky to figure out. It took several minutes for the water to heat up and the temperature knobs didn't gauge it very well as I had to keep adjusting as I was in there to get to my desired temperature. Otherwise, nothing!

Inn was a little run down from previous visits to this location

Great location
Bathrooms are not updated. Bed was uncomfortable

The staff was very friendly. They all seemed to enjoy their job at the hotel and it showed in their care of the patrons. Since it is a historic hotel they tried to answer any questions about the hotel's history.

Breakfast was delicious and the staff was so nice throughout our stay. The Green Park is a beautiful and historic hotel and we will be staying there again.

to be a really old Inn it has been well maintained, yes it’s old but it’s beautiful
it takes FOREVER for the water to get hot

Breakfast okay ( though items were not fresh). Serving staff was nice.
Facility in need of renovation carpet in the room was dirty.
Why have visible metal pipes on the ceilings everywhere?
Breakfast room was too dark ( depressing, no sunlight)

Staff was amazing, friendly, and overall very helpful! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and drinks at the divide tavern (located inside the inn) were excellent! the room is perfect size and the balcony is a decent size. overall amazing stay, 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
~Side Note: washington post named this inn one of the 13 most haunted hotels in the country!~

Location of GP Inn. Blowing Rock
Loved the quaintness of the Inn.
All staff we interacted w were excellent.
As a child 66 years ago when we drove past this Inn I wished I could stay here one day. I fulfilled that dream this weekend.
Well this is an inn not a modern hotel! It seemed a few services you would find there were missing. Limited menu at bfast. Needed a peculiar seating time/reservation which wasnt a problem for us but could be for others. As is a problem everywhere they seemed low in staff.

Size of suite. Comfortable clean bedding / towels and separate sitting room. Nice personal porch. Close to Blowing Rock NC for shopping. Parking in town can be a issue, so be prepared. Also Close to Boone , NC a college town with additional dining options. The highlight of our stay was the Friday / Saturday night social area evening entertainment by some very well known retired professional musicians. Lots of personal interactions and some musical history lessons.
Minor items , like for our suite, the walk to the bathroom. Some bulbs out in the bathroom. Heating / Cooling unit a bit noisy, but bearable. All of the is was very understandable considering the Hotel was opened in 1891 as the Grand Dame of the area, 2nd oldest in NC and on the National Historical Register. Still has American Chestnut Wood floors and how long ago have those trees been extinct ! Entirely excusable.
