The title of this rental, Old Town Cottage, is an accurate description of this small but homey house in central Traverse City. We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is warm and comfortable with plenty of space for the two of us. It could easily accommodate up to four. The knotty pine kitchen has every tool and appliance you might need to cook at home, which we did frequently. The updated bathroom has a good size tub for soaking. The hosts were easy to reach and responsive to our questions. The best thing of all about this cottage is the location very close to the bike path and all downtown shops and restaurants. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a pleasant stay at this home. And we would stay again. At first when I walked in it felt a little narrow, small, but it ended up being Perfect! I needed a place for 5 weeks, I was coming to see family as well as work full time; remote. It was a perfect place for my family. And the WiFi connection was great!
The home is charming and clean. It is an older home so you have to be ok with that vibe. I used the dining room table for my work space, and we used the kitchen table for eating, visiting and playing cards. The kitchen feels like a cabin :) Which we like. We also used the table outside on the patio.
The description of the home was accurate. And Chris was an excellent host and very responsive. He addressed my questions prior to arriving as well as during our stay.
We used the TV room a lot, that is where we gathered to hang out as well as watch movies. We used the kitchen table and outdoor patio to visit and play cards. Kids used the sun room often. We also used the gas grill, which has been used well but it’s still doing it’s job :)
The house is in a great neighborhood, only a block from a great co-op and coffee/cafe. Nice to walk and get a coffee and a scone; which were amazing!!
We used the bikes around the neighborhood as well as riding around Boardman Lake which was 4 miles.. Very nice!
There are a few places you can bike to or walk, one of them being Traverse City Whiskey Company. We enjoyed this charming tasting distillery and bar. Nice to have a few drinks and be able to walk home :) We also walked 4 blocks to the Catholic Church for mass; it was lovely! Very convenient to take day trips from this location as well; up Old Mission Peninsula for wine tasting, fabulous views, visited the Lighthouse. as well as Leelanau Peninsula which is much larger, wine tasting, distillery, beaches, shopping, M22, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a must!
We were comfortable at this home and we would stay again! Thank you Chris for making everything so convenient and easy.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Bed very comfy, furniture comfy, everything you need to cook is in the kitchen. I enjoy walking so this was a perfect location as I could walk into town. Nice grocery store around the corner. Many pubs within walking distance also. Felt very safe.

Cute Cottage - Perfect for Fall Quarantine
This home was cozy and cute, and exactly what my friends and I needed for a fall getaway during the pandemic. The kitchen is FULLY supplied and the cottage is located very close to a delightful coop supermarket- which made cooking easy and fun. The main TC sites are a short walk away, there is a beautiful trail perfect for biking (with the bikes that come with the house), and nice hikes are a quick drive away. Though small, the cottage has enough space for 4 guests - even when the 4 of us were working from home. Highly recommend this home. Thanks for a great stay!!

Exceptionally well provisioned
This cute cottage has all the “up north” trappings you expect - beach scene art, vintage Revere Ware and knotty pine, plus all the amenities you crave - good WiFi, big screen TV and a very modern bathroom. The kitchen is packed with everything you can think of, plus bikes, beach umbrella, you name it! It’s all here. Great rental and very quick communication with the owner.

Classic TC Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is fantastic. The neighborhood was peaceful and beautiful. Sleep came quickly! The backyard was lovely with lots of lovely flowers. There were bikes if one was so inclined. Just a short walk, a few minutes away, is a wonderful grocery store with everything (and more) that one needs. Also has a cafe-type set up. Delicious!
We loved our stay in Traverse City! Oh we also got there in time for the Traverse City annual Film Festival! Awesome!

Peaceful Neighborhood Cottage
We stayed at this peaceful Traverse City cottage for the month of May. The location of the home on a wonderful tree lined street is perfect. It is within easy walking distance to several restaurants and a 15 minute walk to Front St. Really could not have asked for a better location. Oryana is the star of this neighborhood. It is maybe a 30 second walk from the backyard to Oryana's front door. We went there almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Such a relief to not even have to get into the car to go get groceries or a great meal. Their hot food bar is wonderful, as well as their sandwiches and coffee creations (loved the Lavender Latte...) Oryana is a wonderful neighborhood hub, making this house a total gem.
The house is charming and peaceful and comfortable. We particularly loved the bedroom at the front of the house with the big window. The beds are comfortable with the softest sheets I think we've ever slept on. The house is very old with lots of character, however, inner working of the home are top of the line. Tons of hot water, excellent furnace/A/C, great gas stove, etc., etc.
Finally, the fact that the owners of this home are always immediately available to answer any questions and address any issues that arise during your stay is a huge factor in our recommendation of this home. The owners, Chris and Lora, care deeply about this home as well as your comfort and satisfaction with your stay while a guest in their home. Chris is very easy to communicate with, and extremely yes-oriented to any requests you may have while at the house. We recommend this home without reservation for a peaceful Traverse City neighborhood experience. Without question one of our best TC vacations ever. Thank you Chris and Lora!

Wonderful month at Old Town Cottage
My husband and I stayed at the Old Town Cottage during the month of August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very roomy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you need to prepare meals which we sometimes enjoyed eating at the outside patio table. The bathroom was remodeled and very nice. It was also great having a garage to park our car. We enjoyed some of the books the owners had in the cottage also. We loved the location and walked to downtown Traverse City many times and enjoyed shopping and restaurants. The owners were very easy to work with and replied quickly to any questions and requests we raised. We met several of the neighbors and they were great people. We hope to return to the Old Town Cottage for another visit sometime in the future. Great spot.
